We had chicken pad Thai and drunken noodles. The Pad Thai could have had a bit more flavor. Drunken noodles was a bit spicy which I wanted and the waiter was really nice. The place is a bit small but very cozy. And the price isn’t bad at all.

So I found this little this on my way to another spot. Hidden treasure. Gotta love it. Presentation was on point. Beer and good food.

First visit. Pretty nice place and clean. The service was attentive. The lychee and coconut juices were delicious and the food was good. Only suggestion is duck sauce Is too plain. Would suggest requesting other sauces.

Not impressed, at all. I’ve been twice, once for take away dinner and once to eat in at lunchtime. Flavors are sorely lacking. Not bad, but not real Thai. Good for an inexpensive lunch that’s healthier than fried chicken. I will say that the decorations in the restaurant are fun and the service is pretty good.

I had Chicken Pad Thai on a weekend evening when the place was pretty dead. It is a pretty place. The waitress was attentive(of course, there was only one other person). My food was ok. There was nothing wrong with it, but it did not blow me away. Sometimes, that is what you are looking for.

If you’re used to Americanized Manhattan Thai food you’ll like it. But if you’re used to the Queens Thai spots with Thai customers and flavourful Thai food… Disappointing. Bland & lacking seasoning. No complex mix of sweet spicey sour salty… just sad. Not bad but not great either. Major complaint: Asked for a fried egg on top a pork dish that EVERY Thai place in Queens offers or will accommodate you. was told«No, sorry, we only fry eggs during the week. and only for one chicken dish»…REALLY?!? you couldnt fry one egg? WOW. Bland food, Bland service. Yes they do serve alcohol(only reason some will go) and it is a pretty place. But i dont eat decorations. Only good to go if you go for a date night with someone that has 1. never been to Thailand 2. doesnt like strong flavours .and 3. easily distracted by decorations to not mind the food.

I love this place! There are only like 6 tables in this small restaurant but the ambience and décor are well done. We ordered the avocado tilapia which came with a delicious spicy curry sauce and white rice. Everything was so delicious that we ate the whole thing. The portion of fish was pretty big and very satisfying. My hubby ordered a mango drink(non-alcoholic) that came in a tall glass. They don’t have alot of alcohol selections but they have the most popular wines and beers. This is our new go to Thai spot!

My new go-to Thai place! Décor, ambiance, and food are all on fleek(yes, I just said that). I’ve ordered so many times from them and the food was never greasy. Their portion is okay, enough for one but not what I call generous. Prices are great. Great service too. I discovered that this place and Black Thai( ) on Northern Boulevard are owned by the same person, which explains the similarities of the room décor and ambiance. Food at both place are equally as good except that Sompong Thai is a much smaller restaurant than Black Thai, and Black Thai serves beer and wine while Sompong doesn’t.

I was truly surprised to read the negative comments about Sampong. Perhaps they’re better for eating in than for takeout, but our experience was great. We just stopped in for lunch today(Sunday) and it was fantastic. There’s no shortage of Thai restaurants in Jackson Heights(Arunee, Black Thai, Kitchen79, to name a few) and this one rivals them all. Authentic dishes, great flavors, nice atmosphere(probably the nicest of any) and the people working there are lovely. As a JH local, it’s definitely going into the rotation!

Disgusting! I have to agree with Rachie R. one my fellow Unilocal reviewers. C’mon people, do you think we are that desperate for food that we would not notice how disgusting your food is? Ordered one time and that’s the first and last time. I threw it out soon after opening the package. I was too tired after a long stressful day at work and did not have the energy to take it back three blocks away. Soggy, cold, tasteless and gross. I’m hoping it wasn’t someone’s leftovers that were served to me. Shrimp pad thai even my dog would refuse it.

Tiny but very attractive interior. Had crispy ribs to start. Liked them so much that I ate them all. Didn’t leave much room for red curry with tofu. Also really good and now I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Welcome to the neighborhood!

The Papaya Salad $ 7.95(Green papaya, garlic, lime juice, chilies, ground peanuts, tomato and green beans.) was alright, but all over the damn bag. The Thai Curry Rice $ 2.50 was actually better.

Yuck! Ordered here tonight for the first ANDLAST time. This is essentially greasy Chinese food and the worst«Thai» I’ve ever tasted. Ordered mango snapper. Snapper comes in two take-out bags, dry and listless. Mango sauce comes in small container. No rice, nothing. Disgusting. Wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. Vegetarian spring rolls were your typical Chinese takeout spring rolls. «Greasy» doesn’t even come close to what these were, and plum sauce? Riiiight. If that was plum sauce then I’m the Queen of England. Fried dumplings were next. Looked two days old. Didn’t touch them, threw them out because they were so greasy. Tom Ka soup was(I kid you not) sweetened coconut milk. One taste and it went down the drain. Wouldn’t feed this food to my dog. So disappointed. It’s Kitchen 79 for me all the way. That place actually takes pride in its food and knows Thai cuisine well.

I ordered lunch today from Sompong Thai. No problems with the order and it delivered within the promised time. However, my husband and I were not impressed with the food. No flavor and no spice. It seems that Sompong Thai has dumbed down the palate of their dishes. Their food misses the salty, spicy, sweet, and sour notes. It’s sad because that’s what I love about Thai food. I agree with ZB’s review, stick to the other side of Roosevelt for your Thai cravings!

Just ordered vegetable Tom Ka soup and chicken pineapple fried rice for delivery and found it disappointing. While it tastes relatively healthy, the rice was bland and lacked texture, and I basically just drank the soup like spicy coconut milk because the vegetables were so unappetizing and almost raw. While it tasted like someone’s mom’s(who isn’t a particularly gifted cook) cooking, I found it on the expensive side given the mediocre flavor and effort. Maybe dining in will be a better bet.
