Business Owner

Papa Ougot’s authentic Brooklyn style pizza is my passion. Let’s face it, the first Italian pizzerias did not sacrifice quality to improve their bottom line and neither does Papa Ougot’s. Papa Ougot’s uses handed down recipes from Stefano’s Uncle Ezio. Papa Ougot’s uses fresh crushed Roma tomatoes in our authentic Italian pizza sauce. We grate our own 100% mozzarella cheese. Our dough is a handed down recipe from Uncle Ezio and is made with virgin olive oil, hand rolled to perfection. No corners cut here, just real quality Brooklyn style pizza! In 1897 an Italian immigrant named Gennaro Lombardi opened a small grocery store in New York City’s Little Italy. An employee of his, Antonio Totonno Pero, began making pizza for the store to sell. Their pizza became so popular Lombardi opened the first U.S. pizzeria in 1905 on Spring Street in New York City. Spring of 1927 is when Uncle Ezio opened up his first pizzeria in Brooklyn which we now call Papa Ougot’s, est. 1920’s.
