History

Established in 1985.

Started in a garage making stained glass weather vanes and have steadily escalated the size of my spaces and jobs. I have been commissioned to design and build large scale works in stained glass as well as fused tiles for churches, casinos, businesses and residences. In 1990 I ventured into creating a line of gift ware that is kiln formed, and I have sold to galleries and stores nationally ever since. I currently do all of the above, as well as teach at my studio and the Corning Museum of Glass.

Tony S.

Business Owner

Glass caught my interest about 30 years ago. It became my hobby. In 1985, I quit my job as a technician and opened my first studio where I taught, built commissioned work and repaired stained glass. In 1990, I went to two glass schools in the Pacific Northwest where my eyes were opened to many new techniques such as kiln forming, etching, neon, glass blowing, torch work and a few others. I have incorporated many of these techniques into my work. With the help of talented, competent and good people, my studio makes a line of kiln formed vases, dishes, lamps and sculptural pieces. The techniques of kiln working demand an attention to detail and methodology that appeals to the scientist in me, and allows for the kind of spontaneous expression that my artistic side craves. I also do commissioned work in stained glass and glass sculpture. I maintain an active apprentice program at my studio, and am an instructor at the Corning Museum of Glass.
