Hub’s Place

It's definitely not for the uppity crowd..but if U don't mind sorting through or having to move a couple things to get a better view of something, then it's an interesting place. The owners were very friendly and polite. Nothing was said about not bringing my purse inside...or not to take pictures...and I did both with no hassles at all.

So I went to Hub’s with my friend today, hoping to find some nice old things. When we got there, the owner told us about their no purse/​no camera rule. We returned to the car and dropped off our bags and cameras. As we returned to the barn and moved our way to the space behind the barn, I took out my phone and checked the time. The guy ran out from the barn, into the back and screamed at me, saying do not let him to catch me even trying to take a picture… That obviously ruined what otherwise would be a fun experience… bunch of uptight rednecks that need to chill the f out.

If you hear a local friend «let you in» on an Ithaca secret called ‘hubs place’ that’s only open on the weekends…
ABSOLUTELY AVOID at all costs!
2 crazy men, father & son, run this assorted collection of picked over multi-​story barns on their property and that is about all there is to it. I got an ok over-​priced vintage lamp there 2 years ago ‚$ 35, with a few other things and had no problems.
This time around, a few days ago, however, the inbred son and dad have implemented a no-​purse-​allowed policy. Apparently it is also against their rules to welcome customers, say hi, and be polite.
After emptying the contents of my purse in my car so I could awkwardly carry my wallet & camera, we finally get inside the main building and start to look around. We were inside less than one minute when the lecherous son shouts at us that no cameras are allowed either. He then offers what I guess is a half-​assed explanation that they started a no purses/​no camera policies a year ago.
Tired of being hassled before we even step foot in a place, we wished them good luck with their ‘policies’ and promptly left.
Maybe I had previously seen a side of Hub’s Place before it went downhill?
Bottom line though is that if you want to go look at some junk in a barn that might collapse on you or in the back of a shed half-​filled with mosquito water and pay top-​dollar to crazies possessive of their garbage go here!
—Also just don’t show up randomly on a weekday because they will pull a shotgun on you I’ve heard!—
