Established in 1963.

Helix was founded in 1963 in Chicago and has been serving all of the Chicago area market for over 50 years. Besides the usually photography equipment, Helix has been know nationally for Underwater photo gear as well as Telescopes and other Sport Optics.

After working in the Professional Photo Industry for 30 years and seeing all of the other camera shops going away in the Chicago market decided to buy Helix from the founder who was retiring and give the local Photo community a place to come back to.
