This was supposed to be for the«new» place after Egg Yolk. Bell A more Café. Okay. So if you open a «new» restaurant – at least get new menus with the new name of the restaurant. Came here for breakfast. My first issue was a coffee cup with dried egg down the side. Then a new cup of coffee came. With brown, slimy things floating in it. Now our waitress was very sweet and apologetic– not her fault. I told her this was residue from a dirty coffeemaker. I stuck with water. Next was a veggie omelette with egg beaters. Note: I am probably the least picky eater and I really have never had a bad omelet. Until now. The texture was gross – like powdered eggs and tasteless. I ate a few bites and left the rest. Won’t be back here. There are too many other good options like Christy’s and Itasca Diner nearby and many others within a 10 – 15 min drive. Too bad. This is a great location but no one seems to be able to produce a quality restaurant here.

Guess this place is under a new name or ownership but still uses the Egg Yolk menu’s. Anyways, this was our first time here and had been wanting to try it for a while. Our server was not very friendly. She looked like she would of rather been anywhere but there. Bus boys were very good and friendly. Food came out fast and was a decent sized portion and pretty good but I don’t think I would be back due to the service. Prices were also pretty high as well.

Awesome food and great service. Not a five star because I didn’t feel like the menu offered anything unique from other breakfast/brunch restaurants. I know there was the oven Dutch apple pancake that was great but not spectacular maybe because mine was a little burn.

I will give it to them that the food is good, and that the place is a nice little restaurant; very clean and organized. But this review is about the service. I know that it is a waitresses job to take the order and deliver the order but our waitress was just horrible. First off she seemed like she would rather be elsewhere, second off she literally yelled at my sister because she was being indecisive about what to order which is understandable to get frustrated but not to yell at her. Then after some mild arguing and rude faces and comments, the waitress left and didn’t return to our table until she brought out our food, which was cold. I had ordered chicken tenders with fries but I didn’t get fries, instead without letting us know, they gave me sliced cantaloupe. And my sisters order was completely wrong as well. It doesn’t stop here. The waitress proceeded to continue this brawl with my sister and then my mother stepped in to try to stop it and the waitress got the owner over to our table and at first the owner was great about listening but then for some reason turned on us. Safe to say we will NEVER be dining there again. This place is only good if you don’t really want what you order because no matter what they’ll give you the wrong food and still try to charge you. Take your business somewhere else.

The interior design is spectacular. The freshly squeezed orange juice is awesome. The service is great, as well as, the food. I have gone several times with my girl friend(when we are in the area) and we both love it there. I highly recommend this place.

French toast without vanilla, cinnamon or powdered sugar, absolutely flavorless. Crepes also had no flavor and were really rolled up pancakes with chopped strawberries thrown on top. Coffee was watered down and service was slow. No substitutions allowed even for a piece of toast. This place is NOT worth it and I am about the easiest person to please.

Good food, but the service was a little bit slow, especially since there weren’t too many people dining in.

This is my second time here but im sure ill be coming back more and more despite some flaws for the day –Today is a holiday so it is pretty busy and i think they are under staffed for the day(i only saw 2 servers plus the manager) –open tables but still a 10 — 15 minute wait –service is nice but i can tell they are struggling today –food is great and the daily specials are well thought out with the servers being knowledgeable about the entire menu –can sit up to about 75 people comfortably –corned beef skillet and french toast are my go tos when it comes to breakfast as nothing on the menu seems to jump out at me –Portions are decently sized and are presented well Overall i would definitely recommend this place as the prices/portions/taste are all pretty good but what really stands out are the politeness/attentiveness/professionalism of the servers. Each time i have come here it has been outstanding despite the overhang of the stress they may have going through with the holiday brunch rush.

Yesterday was my second time at Egg Yolk Café. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious. Very clean place with a nice modern look and the food was good. The waitress, same as my first time there, was very pleasant. Good place overall!

Yum. I love me a good breakfast/brunch place, and Egg Yolk Café is up there on my list. A group of 4 of us planned to meet at Church Street Brewing Company when they opened around 1pm to sample some of their beers. We decided to get some food in our bellies before we headed over, so after some Unilocaling, we decided on Egg Yolk Café. I was surprised to see it was a part of a chain, though a small, local one. You couldn’t tell though. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the host. We saw 2 of our friends already sitting, and he quickly led us to our table and brought us our menus. After seeing a large bin of fresh oranges, I knew I had to start with some fresh squeezed OJ. It was a little pricey at almost $ 4 for 16 ounces, but I thought it was worth it. When ordering, we all went the breakfast route, though lunch offerings are also on the menu. I had an apple cinnamon waffle, and it was ginormous and delicious. The apples were perfectly sweet and the waffle was cooked just right. I ended up taking half of my waffle home and eating it later. The rest of the table got a skillet, eggs benedict, and some sort of egg combo plate and everyone thought their meal was good. No wait, fast service(our food came out in about 10 – 15 minutes, if that, no rushed feeling, and good food. I’m so glad we picked this place to eat. None of us live closeby, which is a shame. If so, I know we’d become regulars.

Made our first visit to Egg Yolk yesterday but it definitely won’t be our last. The first thing you see when you walk in is a huge bin filled with fresh oranges. The fresh orange juice was terrific and the small size was still substantial. We ordered a combination of omelettes and waffles and everything was terrific. I had the spinach and feta omelette. I loved that I could substitute fresh fruit for the potatoes. The omelette was big enough for two meals so I took half of it home. I was especially happy with the service. We were dining with a 6 month old infant and they went out of their way to make us comfortable. Everyone was genuinely friendly which made it an outstanding experience. I don’t often write reviews but I felt I must give the Egg Yolk the 5 stars they deserve!

This place is fantastic AND there’s NOWAIT! Any establishment that has a separate section for just«Eggs Benedict» is my kind of place. We started by splinting a large, fresh-squeezed orange juice. So good. Next time I will get my own! I ordered the Lox Egg Benedict. I would give that entrée 3+/5 stars. It was more like smoked salmon and I feel like it needed a dash of capers to go with. There was plenty of food though. My hubby ordered the Mexican skillet. He thought it had great flavor. Unfortunately, they over-cooked his eggs. We didn’t bring this up to the waitress. She seemed very busy but I’m sure she would have been happy to trade them out. We love going to the Brunch Café on Lake but there’s always a 30 – 60 minute wait. Egg Yolk Café had no wait on a Sunday and had a full bar with TV! The only con is that it did seem a tad more pricey when the check came. With everything I mentioned above and two coffees, the total was $ 30+. :( Next time I’ll be curious to test out the blintzes.

It was a decent lunch, we had 5 in our party, and arriving at the diner, it’s a nice enough restaurant, roadside location at an intersection, and we were seated quickly. The food was not terrible, but it was nothing to write home about either. For diner(of sorts) fare, it was decent enough.

The strawberry blintzes had fresh strawberries inside, as well as outside, which was something I wasn’t expecting. Quite tasty, even if the blintzes were a little thicker than I like them to be. There was a fresh piece of pineapple on my plate that didn’t go with the blintzes, in my opinion, but it’s nice to see that they give a piece of fresh fruit on the plate. The apple juice was a tiny bit tart, like a good apple juice should be. All in all, a good meal.

We’ve been here twice since the change in ownership and thus far they haven’t offended us enough to stay away ;) On the plus side: –Décor is clean and contemporary, not very much changed from the previous restaurant. –Very good hash browns, cut just a bit different than your standard strings. Wider, like chopped fettucini. –My breakfast sliders and my girlfriends Florentine Benedict were very good. My note on the(2) sliders would be that they were obviously made as one omelet and chopped in half to put on the buns. Not a big deal, just a funny time saver. –Crepes were good. Sweet, not too eggy or doughy. I prefer my crepes with some crispness around the edges, but that’s a personal preference… –The coffee was good. I’m no coffee extremist, but I know bad coffee. Out of 10 I would give it a 7 based on two visits. –They don’t do fresh real cream on the table, but the little non refrigerated creamers are at least real milk and not the weird nasty«non-dairy» creamer. –2.99 isn’t too bad for a glass of fresh squeezed OJ. That said: The not-so-good: –They’ve printed new menus, but are taking their time putting them out in use. Supposedly they are the same as far as the food — just new graphics. Great, but apparently the new menu has updated pricing as well. Pricing which they’ve already switched their POS systems to. See where I’m going with this? On both occasions(two weeks apart) we’ve ordered 1.95 orange juice off the menu and gotten the bill for 2.99 orange juice. This kind of negligence to whip out a sharpie or put little stickers on your existing menu(Or, heaven forbid, hold off updating your system prices until your menus are out) looks like outright deceptive practice the second time it happens two weeks after notifying one of the new owners. Who knows how many other menu items this applies to… –Really nice breakfast places do a few«premium» things to let you know they value taste over frugality. Fresh OJ is a start, some other suggestions for Egg Yolk Café to consider are real cream for the coffee, multiple sugar options(raw, agave, truvia, pour jar instead of packets) homemade jams(instead of corn syrup jelly) for the toast and entrees, real maple syrup for the pancakes… Overall we’ve enjoyed our experiences here enough to return, but it hasn’t risen to the level where we rave about it and regularly prefer this place over some other local options. The jury is still out on this one. We’ll see how it evolves as they settle in with the new menu.
