Puget Sound Leasing

I gave them the finger over their «20% of the original total of the lease as a late-​fee bullshit», and ignored them for 4 months until their attorney was given the file. They didn’t even want to touch that shit and they are a collection firm.
Puget Sound is being sued from dozens of customers, the bank that bought them (for fraud), most of their leases are dismissed in court as being fraudulent and usurious.
I ignored the attorney for a couple of weeks and he seems to have given up. Nothing appears on my credit report, I recommend anyone that has anything to do with this mobbed-​up outfit just say F it and stop paying them, let them go further into bankruptcy than they already are.
Here’s the gist of their fraud lawsuit from the bank…
They charge their customers 2 months of lease payments «up front» as a deposit, but it pretty clearly indicates these are advance lease payments. Most people would interpret that as either I don’t have a lease payment to make the first month and the last month (this is business equipment leasing).
They then immediately start billing the first month, and soak you with a $ 200 late fee if you miss it, so you immediately think «wow». not doing that again. They represent in «one set of books» to their investors that everyone is 2 months ahead on the equipment payments… and then keeping another set of books that shows people in-​arrears as above, even if you are really 2 months ahead, just so they can soak you for some fees. Let’s be honest… in my case, on a $ 231 lease payment, if you get hit for a $ 200 late fee (for one month), that’s about a 1300% interest rate… Tony Soprano would even be proud.
The best was, if you are ever late, they think they can make you cough up a 20% of the original balance (in my case. about $ 30k, so about $ 6,000) as a late fee for ever being in arrears on a $ 231 payment. What the F!!!
If you ever see these people on the street, don’t just steer away, throw stones as the crooks and report them for jaywalking, or speeding or whatever you can dream up and have a couple of friends handy for 2 or 3 eyewitnesses to harass them. I’m thinking a few bricks through their windows wouldn’t hurt either.
In my line of work, I bend over backwards for my clients in these times, even if I know I’m right, not to be «super nice» but to help other people out. Never got a hint of that from these fools.

Now they’re trying to beat a dead horse by wringing out another $ 525.00 for some especially fine and unreadable print in the contract, long after the lease has been paid off.
Not exactly on my To Do list today. The sooner this divorce settlement though, the better.
