Once again five stars for Morgan Motors.
They don’t try to sell unneeded repairs like some other well known shops and they are 100% at what they do. Pricing is fair and everything is carefully explained. Have used them for years and would highly recommend!

These folks are awesome. They did my breaks. They also did much more extensive work for my boyfriend on his older Bronco, and he was extremely pleased with the whole experience. Morgan Motors will be our new go-​to place when we need work done. Thanks guys!

The mechanic is like the dentist — nobody likes going there for routine maintenance and it’s even worse when you have to get something fixed. I’ve experienced both scenarios at Morgan Motors and they are absolutely deserving of my 5 start rating.
What you can expect: honest advice about your car, quality maintenance and repair work («done right the first time»), fair pricing and a very professional team. You can also expect to see over a decade straight of awards on the walls for being voted «best auto mechanic» and «best customer service» in the Best of Issaquah contest.
What you won’t get: dishonest recommendations for unnecessary repairs, bottom-​of-​the-​barrel pricing, the run-​around on when your car will be ready, or your typical «grease monkey» experience.
I know many people who feel the same way I do — Morgan Motors continues to impress every time you’re in. You’ll get honest work for a fair price every time.

I went to Morgan based on other reviews on Unilocal.I thought my brake job and oil change were pricey. They were under dealer prices, but I still thought 39.95 for an oil change was too much. Also the brake inspection wasn’t folded into the price for the rotors and pads. I haven’t had any problems with the work.
Also, cashier could have been more friendly/​welcoming.

We just moved so we have been looking for a new auto shop to take our vehicles to. First impressions are everything and Morgan Motors get’s a gold star. Our Honda died over the weekend. I had been told by several people about how great Morgan Motors was so I had it towed to the shop. Great customer service and they were really thorough. It turns out it was just the battery that needed replacing so that was a huge relief. We will definately be taking our cars here in the future.

Just a simple oil change, but it was clear that the place was well taken care of and everyone providing service did so diligently.

Praise the heavens! It’s alive. My mom mobile ka-​chunked on the freeway on Wednesday and I still drove it 20 miles sounding like a lawn motor killing a cat? I admit I had been driving it for months with a blinking check engine light. My bad! Since this SUV hit 200k last week and a dozen years old, we weren’t planning to do any major repairs. I was planning to drive it into the ground as long as possible.
So I was waiting for bad news from mechanic and an estimate… he said it might take a day or two to look at it. Then? He called less than 24 hours later to say he fixed it.
I was taken aback he just fixed it before calling with the problem and estimate – and in their defense, I probably signed something saying to fix up to certain amount – but then when he said what was wrong:
Threw a spark plug coil, damaged cylinder, re-​threaded cylinder, damaged ignition coil, installed aluminum mount, blah, blah, wonk, wonk, wonk, mechanic talk?!
Oh crap! I gulped for huge bill. I know last time spark plug coil assembly thingamajigger went bad three years ago in Portland, it was a $ 600 fix and there was no other damage.
So? Damage this time?
$ 339!
Really? Really? I wanted to hug him through the phone. Not chump change, but still not feeling the violation from other mechanics in the past and less than a car payment I was prepared to start making again. So my 2003 Expedition lives to drive another day!
This same mechanic has honestly told me when things the dealer said needed to be repaired didn’t ACTUALLY need to be repaired. He has told me stuff I can put off safely since it’s an older car and other stuff that needs to be done… but at a great price. He has honestly referred me to the dealer when they might have a better deal – I replaced my transmission 4 years back with dealer because they had better warranty under his advice.
They gave some fantastic advice once when I mentioned I was driving this car for as long as possible, but could not justify major repairs. He said, «You have a little wear/​crack on this (can’t remember what belt), but it doesn’t need to be replaced. So if you are driving on vacation and something breaks down and they try to say you need this $ 1k belt replaced because it is cracking? Tell them it doesn’t need to be replaced and your mechanic is keeping an eye on it.»
Who does that? Seriously, it feels like having a big brother for a mechanic that is looking out for you!
I cannot tell you how awesome it feels to have an honest mechanic! The only detractor is sometimes it takes a week to get my car in, but that tells me how in demand they are. So I am probably adding another day or two of wait to my next fix time, but if you are in Seattle area? Check out Morgan Motors and tell Kip that I sent you! So worth it!

So far I have only been here twice, both for oil changes, and service has been great. They were able to get the oil change done in about 30 minutes and they alerted me to any other service I would need to get done soon. I will be coming back for future oil changes and my next major service.

They are honest and have been less expensive when I called around. He even fixed our car for free when all we had to do was turn the wheel and do some crazy stuff with the gas peddle to get it started!

They’ve fixed my ’94 jeep twice now. They always work with the me to get my car in and out in as little of time possible. I trust them with my car and never second guess the cost because I know they’re honest. Alsonthey never judge how messy my car is!.. at least not openly: P ill definitely be a loyal customer for a very very long time.

Update from the May review. The Odyssey went to California and back after the May service. 15,000 miles later and continues to run great. We have been back for oil changes, etc. Absolutely 5 stars for same reason as others have been posting.

I have been bringing my vehicles to Morgan Motors since Dave took over the place. These guys are the best. If you’re looking for honest answers to necessary or optional vehicle maintenance, you can trust Kip and Dave to give you the straight story. I live in Seattle and travel to Issaquah for vehicle maintenance because I trust this shop. You should trust them too!

This was my first experience with Morgan Motors. I just moved in the Issaquah area so the car shop is in close proximity to my house. I figured with all these great 5-​star reviews, this place would be a sure shot. Not quite so.
For starters, I had an idea of what was wrong with my car (electrical) but obviously I wanted to leave that determination up to the experts. I dropped my car off after hours and filled out their drop off form, which states at the bottom, in CAPS, that they would call me first with an estimate before performing any work that costs over $ 100. I signed this paper and left it with my keys at their location. I should mention that I authorized an oil change, which was only $ 40. So I didn’t care that they did that without checking first.
the next day I waited for someone from the shop to call, but no call. The following day, I decided the wait was a little too long and so I called them. At the time, one of the mechanics told me that they had put a new battery in to test the electrical issues I thought I was having, which was fine. At no time during that call did the person give any indication that they would definitely need to change the battery or give me any estimate.
The next day, they called me back and said «the car is ready for pickup.» Imagine my surprise at that moment that no one had bothered to call before then and say something like «it was the battery that was giving you problems, it will need replacing and will cost $XX.» So I told them on the phone that I would at least like an itemization of the services they performed. The mechanic very curtly answered my questions about whether the braking system had to do with the battery issue. It seemed like he didn’t even want to speak to me at all.
Upon arriving at the location, I tried to explain my concern that no one had given me an estimate, which is something the shop guarantees in writing, and again was met with the same snarky attitude as if I was questioning their knowledge about the car’s issues. The person completely missed my point, so I gave up and just recognized that I would be coming to this forum instead to vent.
So the take away here is that I have to give a reduced score because of the way I was talked at as a customer. There was no attempt to understand my perspective as someone concerned for my car or even an apology that they didn’t follow their protocol in giving me the estimate. I have a fairly fixed budget and may not have been able to afford the $ 300 I paid for the battery and oil change. I had a warranty on my battery at the former place and could have taken it there to get replaced for free, but I stuck with Morgan’s for the fact that they worked to solve the issue, albeit, hiding the price from me until the last minute when I really had no choice but to accept their consideration of performance.
Not giving an estimate at all when the company guarantees in writing to call with one seems like a bad idea. I could have just as easily refused to pay. The company should avoid that issue by actually calling their customer and giving the estimate, per their OWN policy. They also lost a customer, as well as anyone I talk to and share my somewhat negative experience. I’m going back to my guy in SODO.

UPDATE:
The company called soon after I posted this review and have apologized for not being clearer about their explanation. They’ve offered to take the battery out for free, which is not something I’m going to do because they did the bare minimum needed to keep the car alive and didn’t do any unnecessary, expensive work, of which I’m appreciative. As long as they’ve figured out my whole point about giving a clear and unambiguous estimate (including required work + cost associated) BEFORE performing the work, then I’m a satisfied customer.

Been going here for nearly 10 years now. Wow. They are still awesome. One slight drawback of popularity is that it’s getting harder to get in quickly.

Honest repair shop!
How about that? They are so honest that they told me that their mechanics lack experience with certain German brands yet confident they can do the job. This is exemplary modesty and honesty.
They also referred me to another honest transmission shop Rob’s Transmission who BTW is another honest transmission repair shop.

This is the best place I have ever taken my car. I have a 2007 Corolla, and the two times I’ve been here, the service has been fast and complete. When I first brought it here, they could have told me that I needed to fix something right away-​like the dealership did– but instead, let me know I still had miles to go before the problem would become really serious. Once it became serious, I brought it back, and they charged me $ 250 less than the dealership with an oil change included. And I was given a free rental car for 24 hours. They are nice, professional, and their dog is adorable. I would highly recommend Morgan Motors and am so relieved I have found a place I can trust.

I have been taking my vehicles to Morgan Motors for over 15 years now. Their service is honest and quick. I trust Kip and the guys to keep my personal vehicles and my work vehicles in top shape. I have gone elsewhere for service over the years, but when I drop my car off at Morgan Motors I don’t have to worry. I’m getting detailed information on what is being done and what may need to be done in the future. Quality service, friendly staff (and dog), great price, and location. I definitely recommend Morgan Motors to my friends.

We experienced a freakishly random problem with one of our cars that could’ve prematurely relegated the car to the junkyard. The problem was so unusual that our regular auto shop did not feel comfortable with attempting to fix it. So, we called around, and someone suggested that we call Morgan Motors — and we’re so glad that we did.
On the phone, Kip immediately assessed the problem, explained our options, proposed a course of action, and forthrightly advised us that his proposed course of action might not ultimately work. We followed Kip’s recommendation, Morgan Motors was indeed able to fix the problem, and the car is working as great as ever. Bottom line, instead of scrapping the car for perhaps $ 500 in salvage value, Morgan Motors saved the car for about the cost of a monthly payment on a new replacement car. We couldn’t possibly be more pleased with our experience at Morgan Motors, and we recommend them without hesitation or reservation.

This marked my very first visit to Morgan Motors. My van needed an oil change. Kip promised me it would only take 30 – 40 minutes max and it was right. Unlike many places that bug the crap out customers to add on overpriced stuff like air filters and windshield wipers this place didn’t do this. While they recommended I get a new air filter soon they didn’t try beat me over the head with the idea.
I will definitely be back and recommend it to friends like me who’ve had a not so great experience in this area getting oil changes in the past.
