Mike started working in the transmission specialty field when he was 18. It was a good fit and he has continued, making it a life career. In February 1982 Mike’s Issaquah Transmission was opened and and operated by Mike alone. Since then this family business, now with five employees has served the Issaquah and Eastside. We are committed to providing our customers with honest service with fair pricing. We make every effort to treat our customers as friends and family. I never thought I would have this problem but when I needed transmission work everyone told me to go to Mike’s. They helped me with me transmission and got me back on the road in a matter of days. I was completely satisfied with the service and they always kept me up to date on the progress. They definitely delivered!

We broke down on Highway 18 (a very scary two-​lane highway), on the way to a concert at the Gorge for Labor Day Weekend. We are from Olympia, and had never stopped anywhere off Hwy 18, so had no idea who to call. Thanks to Google, we got in touch with Mike’s and they told us they would get us in. We called the nearest tow truck and towed our SUV there. Since we had friends following us, and their kids in our car, we couldn’t wait for our car to be fixed and needed a rental. Mike’s was so nice and accommodating to us and said they would see how quickly they could fix it over the weekend while we were gone. We went to get our rental car, and as soon as we got back to Mike’s to transfer all of our camping belongings to the rental car, Pam and Mike came out to tell us our car was fine! Mike showed my husband what was wrong with the 4WD shifter, and Pam talked to me and made me feel so much better about our stressful day. They were so nice, they didn’t even charge us a fee for anything!!! Our weekend was saved, we were able to return the rental car, and get off on our way to our concert weekend. Best customer service in my book!

Had a great experience with Mike’s in Issaquah. Pam was very helpful. I had been told by jiffy lube during an oil change that I was leaking trans fluid, turns out it was just oil. Pam waived my diagnostic fee because it was not transmission related. I will certainly be returning here if I do have a transmission problem in the future!

I don’t see someone like Mike very often. He was such a great person to help me when I was worried about my transmission. I called him to see if he could check if my transmission was going bad. I am disabled and in a wheelchair, so I didn’t want to get out of my car. Mike took the time to drive my car, –for approx 20 minutes — and explained to me how to save a transmission. Needless to say, I felt so much better.
Like I said there are not many business owners who would go the extra mile. …but I guess that is just who Mike is.
When I need help with my transmission again, I will definitely go see Mike.
He’s the best!

I was referred to Mike’s by Firestone in Issaquah. I noticed immediately that this was a locally owned business because when I called, Mike answered the phone. I added a transmission cooler to my jeep.
Mike quoted a low end and high end. Normally when someone does this, you have to prepare for a little above the high end. Ended up being very close to the low end that he quoted. That tells me that he didn’t inflate his time, which would have cost me more money. I would use Mikes Transmission again for sure. Locally owned, good work, and honest. What else could you ask for.

I happened upon Mike’s Issaquah Transmission today and received excellent service. I had gotten a flat in my Honda CR-​V earlier that day and some gracious landscapers changed the tire for me, but recommended I have it looked at by a professional before I started my 45 minute drive home. Mike was very courteous and helpful and accommodated me as I had a sleeping baby in the car. We had a brief conversation about the importance of family. He runs an honest business and clearly cares about his customers and doesn’t take advantage of them. I offered him money for the work and time he put in checking my tire on such short notice and he didn’t accept it. I would highly recommend this place of business!

This place tried to rape us. We were having some transmission issues it seems, and we took it here to get checked out. They charged us $ 50 and wrote down a couple codes and told us we need a new transmission and they would (only!) charge us $ 3000.
We didn’t have $ 3000 so we had been switching off using one car… Insanely difficult. We recently made friends with our apartment manager. Her husband works on cars and is very honest and trustworthy. He hooked it up to HIS code reader and it turns out the car just needed a transmission flush and some non-​slip formula for good measure, and it’s good as new.
The fluid was the real problem, it was dirty and throwing codes, causing problems. Simple… We decided to replace the cylinoids as well, just to go the extra mile. All in all it cost us about $ 300 total to fix the car and it’s totally fantastic now.
These guys wrote down the codes that they KNEW meant we needed a new transmission. That way if we looked up the codes or gave them to someone else it would appear we needed a new transmission… We had to find someone honest to check the codes out and tell us what was REALLY wrong, and saved us $ 2700… Would NEVER recommend anyone go here. A**holes!!!

I had warning lights flash on my Honda last month. Found Mike’s via recs from my regular mechanics at Issaquah Autoworks.
Their prices were fair and got my tranny fixed, per estimate. Owner Mike was a nice guy and did not give me the run-​around. Mike’s guys ended up working on my other car too. Cannot complain. I will be returning!

My Volvo needed a transmission and Mike’s did the rebuild. As often happens with these things, it still had some issues after the rebuild. Mike worked with me to get the extra work done, and now my Volvo runs like a dream. Mike provides a warranty that means once the work is done, you never worry; he will do whatever it takes to get it right. His attention to detail and dedication to my satisfaction as a customer wins my loyalty. I would trust Mike with any transmission issue.
