As all the other earlier 5-​Star reviews already attest, this is a truly outstanding veterinary practice, with its specialization in orthopedic treatments and care, that has always provided us with unsurpassed expertise, conscientiousness and sensitivity for our animal patients we have entrusted to them. We have come to the CVS hospital many, many times over the past years with nearly a dozen dogs needing examination, treatment or surgery — the most recent being our rescue dog Moritz, who required a «Tibilal Plateau Leveling Osteotomy» (or «TPLO» for short) — a rather involved, care-​intensive, and frankly not inexpensive surgical procedure required to fix a seriously debilitating injury with his hind leg. Once again we are deeply impressed with, and extremely grateful for, the sophisticated, talented and capable specialty medical services, coupled with the gentle kindness, patience, good humor and generosity shown by Dr. Fry and all of his very thoughtful staff. We highly recommend Dr. Fry and his CVS hospital to every pet owner that desires the finest level of medical attention for their pet’s continued health and well-​being.

Dr Fry and Nikki and entire staff are remarkable animal caretakers. For the past 6 years I have taken the most difficult patients for them to evaluate… not once in that time did I feel rushed. Dr Fry takes time to sit and answer questions that probably he has heard a million times… but he appears to reflect on past experience, coupled with current lifestyle needs, before educating us.
The skill of THIS surgeon can only be out measured by the size of his heart…

My Australian Shepherd had one TPLO surgery and three years later, she needed a second one on her other leg. First one was done elsewhere, but I knew what to expect for the second one. It’s not fun. Dr. Fry was recommended to me and since he was close to my house, I made an appointment. Comparing my experience with the other surgeon to the one with Dr. Fry, I’d recommend Dr. Fry hands down. He explained all my options and did not try to talk me into anything. His fee was about the same as the first surgery and it was all inclusive. I did not get nickeled and dimed to death like the first time and my dog was shaved less, had substantially less bruising and was not in obvious pain. With the first surgery, she cried for two days and her leg was visibly bruised. My dog is healing nicely now, is becoming more and more mobile and while her first surgery was successful, this one has seemed to go much more smoothly. Dr. Fry’s whole office staff is professional and friendly and he is as experienced and skillful as can be. TPLO surgeries are an ordeal for dogs and owners. Dr. Fry and his staff make it bearable. I would recommend him highly.

Dr. Fry and his team took great care of our dog, Logan! Our regular vet referred us to Dr. Fry when X-​rays revealed a problem with his elbow. Dr. Fry reviewed the X-​rays, explained the options and did arthroscopic surgery on Logan. The staff were professional and Logan got excellent care during his overnight stay. His recovery was uneventful and he’s made a full recovery. I highly recommend Cascade Veterinary Specialists!

Dr. Fry and his staff at Cascade Veterinary Specialists are the very best! When my large cat (he’s a jumper) started limping around the house, I took him to his regular vet. They couldn’t detect a problem and suggested consulting a surgeon. On the glowing recommendation of a friend, I emailed the x-​rays to Cascade.
Dr. Fry suspected the broken femur and took additional x-​rays to confirm. The specialized surgery required to repair the break is one Dr. Fry performs regularly, albeit usually on dogs. Even though the quoted price was less than other surgeons in the area, it was still expensive for me. The staff there provided several options for treatment approaches and they even helped me work out a payment plan through Care Credit.
I live in Seattle and work during the day, so the location was not exactly convenient, but they even made special arrangements for me to drop my little guy off. And Dr. Fry never charges for follow-​up visits.
Cascade Veterinary Specialists saved my pet a lifetime of pain and made a very stressful situation easier for me. I wouldn’t trust my pets to any other surgeon!

We had to take our puppy here for a knee surgery. One of our friends dog had the same surgery, and recommend Cascade Veterinary. The staff was so helpful and answered all our questions. I would recommend Cascade to anyone!

When you’re in the midst of something serious, you want the help of someone is embarrassingly smarter than yourself.
Basics:
We were recommended to him by our vet for surgery to fix our cat’s patellar woes. I felt that I was well-​provided with information, paperwork, etc. They were responsive, kind, and professional.
Office:
A smidge difficult to locate, but they are helpful with directions and landmarks. The office is very roomy and well lit. Parking is often easy to grab right at the door, but there is more available.
Cost:
Exactly as quoted, and included all follow-​up visits! I can’t really speak to the comparability, as that this is the only time I’ve needed a vet surgeon.
Service:
Talk about relieving stress during a stressful time… everyone there was accommodating to help ease the process. The staff were crazy awesome in answering questions, giving advice, and being all-​around competent. I was even encouraged to call if I had any concerns come up.
I took them up on this twice, the second of which involved slipping me in for check-​up later that day. Nothing dire, but concern enough. The staff were great about listening and getting me in. Dr. Fry was busy, but took the time to be 100% there. It turned out to be quite minor, but Dr. Fry even said I was right to come in. I was never made to feel that I was being neurotic. (Tho’ to be honest, I really was.)
Surgeon:
The appointments weren’t very long, as that Dr. Fry was pretty efficient and no-​nonsense. While I wasn’t initially left with the feeling that I was free to ask question, when I did (and I asked a lot), he was open to answering. He didn’t skimp on a single response. He scaled his explanations, simple but solid, and then more detailed as we delved in further. To put this bluntly and crudely, the man knows his shit. We felt very relieved to have him.
Misc:
I had been worried about being recommended here, thinking that it might be a matter of simply being closest. I’d recommend anyone else here now.
