today i went in planning to get either gel or acrylic extensions. after talking with the lady at the front desk (who wasn’t the friendliest person out there), i decided on gel nails. 30 minutes later i found myself walking out with a poor application of shellac. after reading multiple reviews and looking at the beautiful pictures, i had high hopes for this salon and i’m sorry to say that it was a let down.
from my understanding, shellac refers to a gel polish and gel nails refer to nails that are extended and sculpted using a clear gel. i was hoping for the latter but i ended up with a shellac manicure and was told that shellac and gel nails are the exact same thing. what’s confusing is that on the bluewater nails & spa website, acrylic nails, LED gel nails, and shellac nails are listed as different things. the main reason i chose this salon was due to the many services it offered so i was surprised to hear that shellac meant gel nails.
the thing i’m most unhappy with is how my nails look. my nails are shaped unevenly, my cuticles are flooded with polish, the polish isn’t as opaque as i’d like it to be, and on one finger it’s already starting to lift at the cuticle. i am a pretty detail oriented person and spend hours painting my own nails and redoing them until they are perfect so it was upsetting to see a professional lacking the same attentiveness and precision. as to why i came to a salon to get my nails done if i do a nice job painting them on my own, i wanted something a bit more long lasting.
although i had a rather bad experience (my technician was super sweet, it’s just the end result that i am not happy with) my sister had a great time and received a fantastic standard manicure from her nail technician. i’m quite picky about nails but even i can see that the nail tech took her time and really put in effort to give her a flawless application. her nails definitely deserve 5 stats. i think it really all depends on which nail tech you get put with at this salon.

Considering the location of the salon, the pricing isn’t horrible. However, i noticed that there is no display of each employees beauticians license. Only the business license.
Also some of them hardly speak to you. I found myself sitting in an awkward silence as this stranger played with my hands.
Overall experience was not great. Final product of my nails, they looked amazing.

Still the best nail salon in Issaquah, but Tina talks about you in her native language to her co-​workers, in front of you. Then ignores you when you call her on it. Also, Tina’s use of gloves are because she has to, not because she has any sense of sanitation. She used her gloves to wipe up lotion off of the equipment, then used it on me. She also walked away with her gloved hands to help someone with coffee equipment/​cup of coffee, then came back to «massage» my feet with her same gloved hands. I’ve called this appointment short, and will be going home to wash off my legs; cutting out some of my requested treatments. Yes I am a germaphobe, and yes I will come back; but begrudgingly so, as a matter of convenience, since this is the only ok nail salon in town.

They did a great job and I love that the salon isn’t a fluorescent white eye sore but it was freezing!!! Learn to turn up your heat guys! I was shaking I was so cold

Best nail salon in Covington — Maple Valley area. Clean, courteous staff, lovely atmosphere and reasonable for the quality of services provided. My hubby and I love going here. We have had mani-​pedi, eyebrow tinting and lashes done here with great results.

So typical place: majority of the employees are non English speaking, smiley but kinda rude. I called made a same day appointment and then arrived on time and was told no appointment existed.
Then an exchange of Vietnamese occurs and I’m told to sit down and wait 15 minutes. I waited 40 minutes and left.
Won’t go back

I was there for eyebrows waxing and she literally spoiled my eyebrows. I Would never go back to this place.

I had a good pedicure here so thought I’d get a gel mani today. It was horrible. She was so careless and my cuticles are all tore up. The worst part is I’m 8 months pregnant and not only will this likely be my last mani for awhile, I feel they’ve subjected me to infection. The bleeding has stopped now but I will post a pic of the bumpiness under the gel from bubbles/​poor nail prep.

The location was a little difficult to find, but only because the highlands are so new and Suri doesn’t quite know all the streets yet. However, I did feel a little lost and when I called the salon, the woman who answered the phone guided me to her before I could get too frustrated.
The salon is very clean, and everything seemed sanitary. I did not have an appointment, but I only had to wait about 10 minutes. I got a mani & pedi, and both were nice. Great massage, good cuticle work, polish even lasted longer (on the manicure) than normal.
My only complaint was that the lotion they used had such a strong synthetic smell that I got a migraine from it. I would go back based on the services, but I’m contemplating because of the lotion. Perhaps if they let me bring my own in…

Another great pedi experience! They give 5% off if you pay in cash. That’s $ 26. Kinda pricey for a pedi, but the color application & the massage was nice.

I chose this salon based on other reviews. It’s definately the best choice in Issaquah. It’s very clean, the staff is very professional. They talk to you and not just each other as happens in many salons. I got a pedicure the way it should be. They are priced just slightly higher but it was completely worth it.

I feel like I may come here again and try get a pedicure. This review is for a full set of acrylics. I typically get my nails done in Seattle and I’ve gone to a million different now spots. This salon can not do stiletto nails to save their lives.
It was extremely frustrating because I told the girl over and over again that I wanted my nails to be pointy and she continued to round them and round them. She even said aren’t you scared you’re going to poke your eye. I’m not five I’m not going to poke my eye. The salon was clean and the girl was nice outside of ignoring my continued requests for how I wanted my nails shaped.
It was a waste of money for what I got. I can’t get my nails pointing out because she filed them too short so if someone was to reshape them and fix what she did my nails would be incredibly short. The reason this is so frustrating is that I literally told her at least 30 times that I wanted my nails to be more pointy and not rounded it all in addition to showing her pictures.
The salon is clean and calm, like I said it’s probably a good spot for something basic like a pedicure but I wouldn’t trust them with more than that.

I have been to this place twice. First of all I love how clean the shop is. I watched them sanitize every instrument. I was greeted very nicely on both occasions, one of which my fiancé came with me. He had never had a pedicure and they were really good at making him feel as though pedicures are not just for women. The second time I came in for a fill on my acrylics. Not only did they fix my terribly done full set from a previous place, I have never seen my nails look so good. I have never prebooked a nail appointment before but for this place I did. I’ve found my «nail spot» and recommend it to anyone.

This is my favorite place to get my nails done. I’ve been here three times already and wont go any place else.

I was apprehensive to go here because of the Unilocal rating, but I am so very glad I did. This nail salon is off the beaten trail in the highlands. Very cute, very clean, very quiet. It was so relaxing! There wasn’t anyone in there and only three girls were working, probably because they don’t get busy so I would call ahead for an appointment. My girlfriend & I got very lucky. The two young ladies that did our nails were so nice & thorough. I asked for a 3^rd coat of gel because it was so light and a few other things during my mani/​pedi session and she was so nice about everything. I will def be going back! :) Good experience.

Great place. Will be my new go to for mani/​pedi. Let’s hope it stays great and doesn’t turn into another sweat shop of mail salons.

Had a mani/​pedi here on a Sunday.
Pedicure turned out fantastic. Manicure, not so fab.
So they did both the mani & pedi at the same time from the pedicure chair.
The manicure had bubbles in the topcoat. When I pointed it out to her, she said she could fix it, then asked me to pay. So I asked if she was sure she could get rid of the bubbles. She promised me she could, so I gave her the full 20% tip.
The second coat had bubbles too.
Very disappointed and probably won’t be back. :(

This place is very hard to find, especially if you are new to the area. After finding the place you step into this amazing nail salon, so I was excited. There were beautiful pictures nice seating and just the overall appearance was great. However I walk in and no one greets me and there were 3 ladies working at the time. I get my nails done ALL the time, so I know good nails. When done I couldn’t wait to get out of there! The lady that did my nails was kind of rude. I got a French tip full set and as she was doing them, I noticed the white part was kind of lumpy so I let it go figuring she will buffer them out. Then I noticed the white part was too thick so as she was doing the first nail I asked if my white tip could be a little thinner? The lady responded with «you should have told me this before I was done on the first nail!» And I am thinking you should have asked!!! She was very fast and short with me and jerked my fingers around. Also they were NEVER buffered my nails were lumpy crooked and the length was HORRIBLE! The length slanted from one side of the nail to the other all my friends could see and notice. I will NEVER be back.

I have been here often & love it. Between the great pedicure massage chairs & the foot massage, it’s quite a nice place. They also offer $ 10 off with 10 visits & 5% off if you pay in cash. Yes, they speak in their native tongue. Do you speak English when you are at work? Of course. In any case, it is way better than Issaquah Nails!

Great salon! Even though it’s in Discovery Heights apartment complex, parking is available out front and behind the business and there is plenty of it. The salon is very inviting and relaxing with the waterfall sign. I had a shellac manicure only my first time but my next stop is a pedi in those big comfy massage chairs! The owners are super nice and I love that they are open on Sundays! So happy they are here!
