Description

Specialties

Our instructors are experts that are chosen for their skill, patience and love of teaching. Together, they have over 84 years of glassblowing experience. All of our classes are kept small so individualized instruction is optimized.

If your desire is to become a professional glass artist, come see what we have to offer. Many of our students have gone on to build and establish their own studios locally and in other states.

History

Established in 1997.

rtbyfire was founded in 1997 by Renée Robbins Pound and Lenoard Whitfield. Renee and Lenoard sought to create a gallery and studio conducive for students and artists to be able to have a venue to create and sell their work.

We now reside on the eastside along with our new glassblowing gallery and school in Issaquah. artbyfire’s original location in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, offered classes in glass blowing, flameworking and casting. Our new studio in Issaquah presently offers glass blowing classes, private parties, teambuilding events, kids camps, monthly special events and more. Hopefully soon we will have our lampworking studio up and running as well.

Work produced in our studio is in collections all around the United States. We help students achieve their own goals– whether they’re looking for a hobby or life-changine career. We will help you!
