A LESSONINHISTORY Our favorite stop in Isleton, aside from the food vending area, was the museum. There was a lot to look at and we learned about the history of this little town. We saw historical art pieces, read about the first major fire, and lots more. Did you know there have been three movies filmed on Main Street, Isleton? None as famous as Petaluma’s American Graffiti, but still it’s cool knowledge. The Asian-influence on the culture and art in this small community is outstanding. Some of the carving and sewn displays were magnificent pieces. I wish the museum were bigger! Definitely worth checking out if youre in town.

What a pleasant surprise to fine this gem in the Delta. We arrived the day after the official ribbon cutting and even though it was a Sunday the doors were open. This museum is in a restored building in Isleton. The one room interior is lovely with an impressive hardwood floor. I found the historic pictures of life in the Delta absolutely fascinating. The towns along the River highway seem to be almost like Ghost These pictures that were on the wall here tell a story of a community that was once vibrant. They have enough«stuff» to rotate displays quarterly. The society has plans to restore the building next door and the gardens on the other side.
