The Local Ale House

Sometimes the craziness of the Long Beach bar scene is just to much. If you have a few extra minutes waiting for the train, stop in for a Brewsky at this establishment it won’t disappoint. No fancy menus or décor just a place to have a drink or play quick draw if that’s your thing. They have a pool table, a few tvs, music and dartboard. Great local spot, you’ll feel welcomed if passing through. Happy hour

The owner of this place puts his heart and soul into the bar. Its clean, friendly and they offer an extensive beer selection both on tap and bottles. Im a local patron and this is a nice place to watch a game or just relax after work.

Pure awesomeness!!! Perfect local spot! Friendly bartender. Lots of activities darts, jenga, cards pool. Outdoor space is beyond wonderful. Drinks are great and not too pricey. The best local spot in town.
P.S The finals basketball game is on and I can actually hear it!!! I love this place.

This is great place to have a good time. Games are always on. Great music playing. ALWAYS awesome beers on tap. Best staff around.

So, a few hours before a wedding in Island Park, very limited things to do to occupy our time (how long can I really look at the old ferris wheel?), so we stumbled upon Local Ale House.
This is clearly a local bar — it seemed everyone knows everyone. Randomly, you can gamble on horses and on quick draw. For $ 10, the quick draw game provided us a half hour of entertainment (and $ 4 of winnings. or, said another way, a $ 6 loss).
So, we were certainly a bit overdressed, but everyone was so friendly, it was not awkward or uncomfortable at all.
The beers are unique — from Blood Orange Ale to Apricot to your standard Bud Heavy in a bottle. And, since it was happy hour, every beer cost $ 3.50. I do not think we could have found a better deal.
It’s clean, and unlike most bars, it seems they actually use a dishwasher for the dishes.
Random location, but a cool hang out, at least if you’re trying to pass the time before a wedding at Bridgeview.

The local ale house is the nicest bar in island park. Now I know that doesn’t say much because the competition is pretty much nonexistent but if you are in the mood for a nice cold drink from a friendly staff in a clean place then this is a good spot. If your lucky you might catch a Italian leprechaun walking around but don’t grab him for a pot of gold, he is the owner.

Excellent selection of beers on tap and a sizable offering of bottled craft brews. Great juke box. Friendly corner bar atmosphere.
