History

Established in 1996.

Business was started by Ralph and Jeannie Jewell. Jeannie thought Ralph was crazy to want to get back into boat tours, but went along with it. Ralph built the boat himself with a marine architect. It was designed to get within inches of the reef making for spectacular viewing. Business took off, after the usual early bumps. One important aspect of the business has always been to give back to the community. The business is always willing to support local fund raisers with gift passes, and offer school groups special rates.

Meet the Business Owner

Ralph J.

Business Owner

Over 35 years ago, when Ralph first landed on the rock, he looked over at a little double outrigger sailboat that was operated by Captain Beans. He decided then and there that he would work on that boat. He and a partner ended up buying the sail/snorkel business and operated it until they later sold it. Ralph worked mostly in the construction business for the next 15 years contracting homes, building tree houses, etc. When he built a couple of prop boats for the Water World movie set, it got his juices moving in the area of boat building and rekindled his passion for the boating business. In 1995, he began construction on Marian, our 36′ glass bottom boat, and began operation in 1996. It’s been lots of fun ever since.
