The fourth generation of air conditioning and heating specialists. I work in heating and air conditioning with my father owner, grandfather and uncle’s at about age 8. I was a professional toilet cleaner and floor sweeper by the age of 10. My family made good use out of me and made me do every aspect of the entire business. Install ducts, service and repair, attic insulation and installing complete systems. After college, I designed and engineered commercial and residential heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems. Now with more than 45 years and thousands of commercial and residential heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems to credit, there is nothing that I have not seen or dealt with that we can’t handle. I don’t know why we have never posted a review for Granger’s, or why it took us so long to try them, but shame on me. We tried a few other companies in the past before giving Granger’s a try, and I can assure you that was a few mistakes to many. We have been customer’s for several years now, and have never been disappointed with their work.
Kyle is usually the serviceman that comes out to service our unit. He is not only friendly but honest. Today, 4−27−16, he had another gentleman with him by the name of Sean. Sean (I don’t know if this is the correct spelling of his name) was outstanding too.
If you are looking for a company that is honest, and does STELLAR work, try Granger’s, you will not be disappointed.
Everyone we have ever talked to has always been very nice.

It all started 30 years ago when Granger Heating and Air Conditioning installed our first HVAC system. Well, it still was working in good condition however times and technology has provided us with a much greater and efficient HVAC system. Basically, it was time for a new efficient system that would save us money in energy usage. Roger, arrived on time smelling good and quite personable and professional started off the process of choosing the right system and options. He provided us with pamphlets on a few of the preferred systems that would fit our needs with the size of the home and our budget. He even brought the floor plans from 30 years ago that they kept in the files. He crawled around in the attic took pictures and told us he would come up with a plan that would be ideal for our home.
Shortly, there after another meeting was scheduled to go over the plans. Having a habit of asking a lot of questions he patiently answered all of them and then some. We decided it was time to bite the bullet and scheduled a start date fitting to my schedule. The crew arrived and carefully accessed the project and decided on a few changes that would later be hugely beneficial and cosmetically nicer. Each day the crew arrived ready to go they did there job efficiently and carefully being considerate of watching the walls and doors. At the end of the day they cleaned up all their tools and surrounding areas and filled us in on there next days agenda.
Ray, the lead technician took the time to answer questions and believe me there were a lot of questions. Not once did Ray act off put by my questions or ideas. He is a stellar technician I would recommend him 100% for any HVAC project.
At the end of the project everything was evaluated checked and double checked.
Roger, can through at the end checked the system and asked if we had any questions or concerns. Which of course we had more questions. All of which were answered.
I give Granger 5 stars, purely do to the fact that there company is like a well oiled machine. They have system set up, there are no guessing no flakes and no tricks. They deliver the customer with a top notch experience which can be a stressful situation of changing out a major HAVAC system which is also costly but in the end trusting a company that you know will deliver the goods services and no hassle maintenance if something goes wrong.

We just paid $ 250.00 for them to come out and service our unit. It’s been 3 days and the heating unit is still malfunctioning. That’s the easy part. The unfortunate part is dealing with Granger’s front office and the unfriendly stay out of way don’t talk to me service guy. We we take our loses and use a local family owned heating and air company. Bye Granger’s.

We had a great experience with Granger’s with the installation of new metal ducting in our two story home.
Phone contact with the company was always pleasant and they were responsive to my questions.
I found Roger very pleasant during the bid process and his explanation of the process and the cost estimate was very complete. He also explained the building inspection process and the cost associated with that.
The crew had a long drive from Irwindale to OC but they arrived each day at approx. 9 AM. The crew was friendly, polite and considerate of our property, inside and out.
I could not have been happier with the installation process. Complete clean up each day. No trash left on site. The crew answered my questions as they came up each day.
During the process it became necessary to remove the HVAC unit to install the new metal duct work riser and that required an additional cost. This was a fair cost and improved my circulation from the old flex duct riser.
We passed all the required test for the Building Inspector and he even said «I can tell by the work they did around the furnace, that I don’t have to check the attic to know they did a great job» He did of course look at the attic and it was great.
We noticed the improved air circulation in the house right after the completion of the new duct work. We are getting an increased volume of air movement throughout the house that we never had with the flex duct even when the house was new.
I wish we had done this years ago, but am so glad we did it now. Great company, good people and pride in the work they do at a competitive price. I recommend this company for your duct work.

Wish that it was possible to give no stars. Our a/​c replacement was supposed to be a simple job planned months ahead of time with promises that didn’t happen. Our walls throughout the house now need repainting as they were caulked… yes caulked… wallpaper too.
This company has some nice people working for it and I sincerely wish that our outcome was different. We now have an unexpected huge expense ahead of us for their error!
Dale was rude and difficult to work with; I wish we had gone elsewhere.

Great company. Old fashioned and focused on customer service, my grandmother has used Granger’s for like 30 years and they all treat her very well (which means a lot to me) so many companies out there are like predators, taking advantage of senior citizens… Granger’s has never been pushy, one time my grandmas furnace was broke just before the holidays and she called Granger’s, they were able to come the same day. At the time her furnace was very old and he had trouble finding the problem… Had had to leave to get a part but he came right back and was able to save the day, we had a warm thanksgiving that year thanks to them. Later the next year, the furnace broke again and this time it needed to be changed. She hired Granger’s to replace the furnace and the did a fantastic job… Very clean and friendly, and compared to the system at my rental house, there installation looked amazing and works great… The system at my house was install by supposedly a big name company but there installation is pretty crumby and is always breaks down and doesn’t work very well. When I buy a house I am only calling Granger’s, don’t call the other guys they will rip you off!

Wish it was possible to give NO stars. This place does NOT stand behind their work and in this day and age that is a ludicrous business decision. My Mom paid 250.00 and six days later the air unit stopped working and they refused to come out again without an additional charge. Find another company if you want quality work.

I had four quotes for a heating and air conditioning unit. After hours of research and many calls to all the companies I had contacted. I chose granger’s .this is the best decision I have made in years. I was given a very fair price and a time line. I was told upfront it could vary a few days. The installers were very professional and helpful. Whenever I asked a question (I asked many) the techs would stop and answer any and all questions, even showing me when possible. Roger jr. Showed up several times to make sure I was happy and the installation was on schedule. The installers went above and beyond doing extra and tweaking things so I would have no issues. I am so happy I chose granger’s.

I needed a new A/​C and went to several companies that «Did not get it». They didn’t get my needs or special issues that I was dealing with at my home. I asked my parents if they had any contacts for this and they immediately said, Grangers hands down, «The Best» so I called them.
Roger Granger Jr came to the scene and was litterally able to see through my walls and engineer a fabulous A/​C — heating system that totally circumvented the underground area that we were dealing with as well as choose the perfect system for my home and my needs.
I learned so much about the innards of my home while watching Roger and his crew go to work. They knew where every wire, vent and electrical line was going or could go. They were on time, professional, neat, respectful and completed the cleanest of installations. The pricing is always fair but I feel they under charge for the amount of labor that has gone into my jobs. I’ve called on Grangers several times for numerous issues at my home and my experience is always the same — Hands down The Best! Thank you Roger, Dale and the entire company. What a pleasure to have you in my home! The epitome of professional~~ I only wish I could add pictures — beyond perfection.

I received a quote from Grangers, I got 3 different prices depending on the type of air conditioning I wanted. I called another company for the same quote and they were FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS LESS! Needless to say I went with the other company and it went well and both myself and my bank account are happy. It is not nice to take advantage of people! So if you get a quote from someone make sure you shop around!

My husband and I recently purchased our first house. The furnace was original (1964) and not in working order. Also, the house did not have an A/​C unit nor the proper ducting to have an A/​C easily installed.
My parents had used Granger’s twice in the past to install an A/​C and replace duct work, once in the mid-​1980s and again a few years ago. Based on their recommendation, we got a quote. We also got two quotes from other local companies.
After some debate, we went with Granger’s to install a new furnace, duct work, and A/​C. Here are the reasons why:
1) Granger’s is one of the few companies we talked to that would install traditional metal duct work. The new flexible duct work many companies are using is thin, flimsy, and is not meant to last. The crew worked on our installation for 5 or 6 days. Yes, this is a long time, especially when companies who use flexible duct work claim they can install a whole system in one day. But metal ducting is far superior and will last while flexible duct has a much shorter life span (and is not that much cheaper).
2) Granger’s is licensed and insured.
3) Granger’s was willing to pull the appropriate permits that are required for our city. Our city also required a HEERS test. They recommended a HEERS test company and we paid for the test separately. We passed with flying colors on the inspection and testing.
4) Kelly and Mike installed our system. They were awesome! Very nice and friendly and they worked so incredibly hard. We appreciate all that they did and recommend them.
Yes, the management team can get a little bucky when it comes to permits and details in the contract. However, if you calmly explain what you want upfront, and get specifics stated in your contract before you proceed, the process will go smoothly.

My parents’ unit went out yet again and yet again the same tech went out to put freon in for a temp fix and made yet another promise to come back out and permanently fix the unit at the end of Sept. when you weren’t so busy because of the weather. Really, how do you stay in business!
It is May of 2013 and we hope the problem has been fixed. Granger emailed me today asking me to remove my post since his company «manned up» and fixed the leak. I stated I wished to wait until I was sure the problem had been fixed. He did not like my response and has threatened to sue us. Once again, stay away from this company. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the problem has been fixed. We will know once the unit is being used enough to see if the leak has been permanently fixed.

That’s funny, roger that you said you saw your workers smoking near their truck and not in the garage. You were never there during the installation even though I made several calls to you, so how could you SEE anything your workers were doing? !?
And please don’t have Dale call me 6mos. later) to ask me if there’s anything he can do for me. He didn’t remember who I was and he didn’t remember the job, either. When I needed him to do anything for me he was rude and unprofessional. I am so through with your company. By the way I didn’t want to give you any stars, but the site wouldn’t accept it that way.

Granger’s has been my «go to» company for all my air conditioning and heating needs for the past 20 years. I have never encountered a problem with any of the service calls. They arrive promptly as scheduled and act in a professional manner.
Due to the recent hot weather we have been experiencing, my A/​C unit was not cooling properly. I contacted Granger’s for service and they were able to come out the very same day! The technician informed me that I was low on Freon. He recharged the system and said everything was in good working order except that my system was old and not energy efficient.
I decided it was probably time to look into replacing our system. I checked on Unilocal for recommended HVAC companies. (based on my research, several Internet sites suggest you get 3 proposals for comparison) You can imagine my surprise when I read the negative reviews that had been posted about Granger’s. What was even more surprising is all the positive reviews that had been filtered. I’m not sure I understand the criteria that Unilocal uses to filter reviews. Hopefully this one will not be filtered out.
Initially I spoke with Dale and explained that I was looking to replace my A/​C and heating system. I asked if Granger’s could provide a quote. He spent about 15 minutes educating me about A/​C systems. This was very helpful since I have little knowledge and did not know where to begin. I felt he was very knowledgable. Thanks Dale!
He suggested I make an appointment with Roger so he could come out and review my needs and discuss what type of system would be best for my home. Roger arrived as scheduled. After he completed his walk through, he advised that he would have a proposal with several different options for my review in a couple of days.
Roger has provided me several options for my consideration. He is not a pushy salesperson that is just out to make a quick buck. I feel his priority is to recommend a system that best fit your needs. I am giving serious thought to his recommendations.

What I really want to give is 4 ½ stars.
This is my 3rd installation with Granger on air conditioner. The first two were for 2 units at my work within the last 5 years and this last installation was at my house recently. Roger Jr. answered all the questions we had and made his recommendation with value and practicality in mind. The installation at the house required a permit. Granger got the 3rd party to come out to do the independent assessment and prepare all the permit work. The 3rd party company was Carl Gaspar who is also very professional in checking all the duct work and verified the ac install was proper. The only thing I would recommend is to be sure someone from the company is present during the city inspection to help with inspection process to be less intimidating.
My work has the maintenance contract and they are prompt on calling in to schedule and arrive on time to check on the units. I know other coworkers of mine have also used their service and that’s how my work started using Granger.

Granger’s installed a replacement A/​C unit in my home two years ago. The unit was defective from the get go. Despite repeated return vists, the system has never worked properly. And Dale was utterly rude and unprofessional.

My boss has used them in the past and recommended them to the property owner for our office. They were on time and professional at each of the appointments. They came out and diagnosed the problem with our air conditioner, made repairs, and it still didn’t work. I advised the property owner not to pay them until the repairs were completed. Coincidence or error by the tech, I’m not sure, but the heater stopped working after messing with the A/​C. I called them out again for the air, it appears to be fixed. I called them out for the heat and now I’m getting nasty phone calls from (I believe) one of the owners because I didn’t pay the original bill. They expected to get paid after the first repair even though they never fixed the problem.
I am a very reasonable and respectful person and never spoke rudely to his techs or his dispatcher and he starts pulling stuff out of mid air (to be polite) saying I was rude to his staff. I don’t take kindly to that and I don’t take kindly to being yelled at by workers, very unprofessional.

Very disappointing system installation several years back. The design was poor and we’ve lived with rooms that are too hot and too cold and never right ever since. The duct design proved to be illogical and fails the common sense test.
They ignored my service requests and did not follow up when the system proved to be faulty.
Ducts were not properly insulated either.
I would not recommend them.
