New Leaf Service contracts

In regard to the review made before me new leaf does not administer extended warranties. Thier company name clearly states it is a service contract. Meaning, the purchaser and new leaf enter into an agreement to repair the item in question. Extended warranties are sold by manufacturers. Furthermore, as you have been told many times just like any other person in this world, read what you are signing before you sign it. The limit of liability clause is right there on the contract you are signing which tells you the cost of repairs done on the unit are deducted from the original purchase price. So, in conclusion, the only person you should be upset with is yourself for not reading the binding contract you are signing before you sign it. Also, if the sales person at the store you purchased the item from told you it was an extended warranty then your complaint should be with them not with new leaf! We all know sales people lie to make the sale. So again don’t trust what someone says, READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN IT!

This business is fraudulent and conducts business illegally. I purchased a wine refrigerator from
and it included a 5 year extended warranty from New Leaf. 2.5 years later the unit failed. New Leaf sent two different repairmen to try to repair it but it was found to not be repairable. Under Federal law they must offer me a comparable replacement or full refund. New leaf offered me a settlement for about half of the purchase price, saying that they spent hundreds of dollars diagnosing the problem and that their liability does not exceed the purchase price. They also would not send me the money unless I agreed to be satisfied with the settlement, also illegal. Several months have gone by and I have received nothing. There are over 60 complaints filed with the BBB against this business, most not resolved to the customers satisfaction. I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. New Leaf claims that the cost of diagnosis and attempted repair is deducted from the customers claim to refund or replacement. This is in direct conflict with the Magnuson Moss Warranty act Section 2304A: FEDERAL MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR WARRANTIES: «If the product contains a defect after a reasonable number of attempts by the warrantor to remedy defects in such product, such warrantor must permit the consumer to elect either a refund for, or replacement without charge of, such product.» Section D states «the warrantor may not assess the consumer for any costs the warrantor or his representatives incur in connection with the required remedy of a warranted consumer product.» Their response was that their contract specifies that the limit of their liability is the purchase price of the refrigerator and that their contract «supersedes federal law». Don’t buy anything from this company!!!
