Description

Specialties

At «Minimally Invasive SpineCare (MIS)» it is our philosophy, and practice to help our patients find the most minimally invasive answers to their back pain, and neck pain problems, and in some cases this means no cutting at all. When possible we initially try to use the least invasive (non-surgical) treatments to help our patients manage their back and neck pain, and we do this by using our very own network of highly specialized pain doctors. Only when non-invasive procedures have been ruled out, do we then begin to look at the minimally invasive surgical treatments as necessary options for our patients’ painful back and neck conditions. We take spine surgery seriously, but we make our patients long term health and wellness our first priority.

Some conditions we specialize in are: Herniated Disc, Upper Back Pain, Bulging Disc, Degenerative Disc, Arthritis (Spine) and Bone Spurs, Facet Disease, Spinal Stenosis, Foraminal Stenosis, Scoliosis and

Minimally Invasive Fusion.

History

Established in 2004.

Dr. Won is uniquely trained in that he had both orthopedic-spine and neurosurgery-spine fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis and William Beaumont Spine Center in Michigan, both of which are considered among the most prestigious spine training programs in the world. His dual-fellowship training is recognized as the highest level in spine surgery training. He was the first surgeon in Texas to perform endoscopic laser spine surgery with a 3 mm incision. This procedure is performed without general anesthesia, and the patient is able to walk out of the surgery center within a few hours. There are no stitches required, only a BAND-AID®. With minimal blood loss and fast recovery, the patient may return to work in just a few days. He also recognizes that surgery is not always the best option and uses the latest nonsurgical methods to treat neck and back pain prior to exploring surgical options. More than 95 percent of his patients improve through nonsurgical care.
