This is now a GUN FREE ZONE. Both 30.06 and 30.07 signs posted. There was never any signage before the new year. I used to conceal carry in this theater all the time. Now they posted signs that don’t even allow you to do that. With all the crazies out there, I wouldn’t want personal protection in a dark theater.

Great old theater. The seats are the folding style which means my 3 year old fell through and I had to hold through the movie. You can’t beat hot dogs for $ 1 and the restrooms seemed fine for us. We were directed inside to buy tickets at the concession stand and everything was great.

I actually frequent this theater quite often, and yes it’s run down, old, dirty, etc., but for $ 1.25 can you really complain. You get what you pay for.
But last night, went to the 7:20 show of The Perfect Guy. When I arrived there was a line with atleast 30 people in it waiting to purchase tickets. Mind you it’s maybe 40 degrees outside, windy with driving rain. And as this is an old school theater, the box office is outside. So people are freezing just trying to purchase. With this long line, they only had one staffer selling the tickets. Then once I actually got into the building, now 10 minutes late for the movie, I order at the concession stand my normal hot dogs, and they say it will be a 15min wait. Are you kidding me? After just freezing my a– outside and now they don’t have certain food ready, especially the $ 1 hot dogs that everyone goes for.

I went three different weeks this past July and the experiences were great. The place is a little old, but for $ 0.50-$ 1.75 tickets I’m not complaining!

The movie theater could use some renovations, especially the seats since they are very uncomfortable. I could tell that the theater was most likely remodeled in the late 1990s, because of the neon lights that locations barely use anymore. Not a bad experience, just concerned.
But the theater is doing extremely good in business and its moderately crowded as much as a typical movie theater.

Went to matinée on sunday movie was supposed to start at 2:05 it’s now 2:20 nothing is on the screen and no sound, the theater is dirty no sodas or icees, paid 4 dollars for room temp water, I hate this place only came because the movie I wanted to see was only showing in this train wreck of a buisness

Cheap prices for matinée films. Run down space with extremely dirty carpet. But for $ 1.25 or $ 1.50 who is complaining? Not me. There is a clear sign of financial neglect on the part of the owners. I’ve never seen carpets so dirty. They have obviously stopped contracting to have them cleaned. 75% of urinals broken and covered in garbage bags. Seems like they’re running it into the ground. The cheap movies were fine but not acceptable for most people I bet.

Where else can you see a film these days on a big screen for 50 cents? Probably nowhere. And even if you don’t go on 50 cent Tuesdays, the most you’ll pay is $ 1.75/ticket. I’ve read the other reviewers complaints about the smell and the cleanliness factors, and there is some validity to this, but the real problem here is not the odors nor the messes, but rather the PEOPLE that cause it all.
Unfortunately, when you charge bargain-​basement prices, you attract a bargain-​basement client base who act like they were born in a barn and have the intelligence quotient of a rotten banana. The ones I feel really sorry for are the employees (who, by the way, truly rock) who have to put up with all the ghetto crap and then clean up the messes these animals create.
The idiocy commences at the window when there is a line of people waiting to buy tickets. You’d think that after already waiting in line for 5 – 10 minutes, they’d have decided what show they were gonna see. No such luck, because, you see, only when they are first in line, THAT is when decision time truly commences and they’ll tarry away for another two or three minutes trying to decide while completely oblivious to those waiting behind them. Yes, this happens to a certain extent at every theater, but here it is taken to an extreme.
Then, when the grand decision is finally made, it’s time to pay for those tickets which involves several more moments of digging through their pockets trying to come up with the prerequisite fiat currency (or, in many cases, coin) required for admission. Visualize an 8-​year-​old Beaver Cleaver dragging a dirty sock full of small change down to the hobby shop to buy that cool model airplane he’s been longing to buy for months. If it were a kid doing this, you’d have a good laugh over it, but we’re talking about adults with supposedly fully-​developed cerebellum here!
And then, we do it all over again at the concession stand. I don’t know how she does it, but that middle-​aged Hispanic woman who is in charge of the concessions at this place is an absolute doll with the patience of Job. There are times when I’d just like to pluck her away from behind that counter and give her a job she’s just so much more worthy of doing. If she is reading this, God bless and you are truly a saint.
Now, for the auditoriums. Yes, odors have been an issue in the past but I haven’t noticed any olfactory offenses lately, but maybe I’m just getting a lucky screen, who knows. I did see a dude actually pee in there once because God forbid if he missed something crucial to the plotline while he was inconvenienced by having to go to the head. In the future, could you at least have the decency to piss in an empty paper cup, instead of gifting us a pungent sampling of your DNA all over the damn floor?
The screens are decent as is the sound quality. Again, remember how much you are paying for admission before you whine about the shortcomings. Perhaps, if you have trouble hearing the audio, it may just be because the trailer trash sitting behind you is yapping away on their cell phones about how shitty their double-​date at Denny’s was the night before, or because they refuse to control their four and five-​year-​olds who they thought would enjoy watching a wordy drama film. But where else can you get a babysitter for 50 cents! And should you have the nerve to attempt to restore order and confront the offending patrons, keep in mind that courtesy and respect are foreign concepts to these kinds of people. They genuinely believe that the theater is their own private and personal domain and it is actually YOU that is infringing upon their divine right to amuse themselves! To put it another way, you should expect a scene involving security and maybe the local police force should you elect to take matters into your own hands.
The popcorn rocks and so do the dollar hot dogs. Even that dumb little song that is continually looping through one of the video games by the condiment bar is starting to grow on me. And to that sweet concession lady, we really need to have lunch one of these days.

Cheap movies. All three stars are for just that.
If you want an upscale place or fancy seats or a nicer screen — well then pay up for a real theater. But for the price this place does good with what it offers, they even have 3D now.
Recommendation to Starplex:
Get rid of the weird purple paint. It wouldn’t hurt to actually clean the theaters often. I’d like for the movie to start on time. Replace the screens after all that’s what we stare at for 2 sometimes 3 hours straight. Replace the filthy seats that everyone makes a mess on. Mop the sticky floors. Put an odor neutralizer everywhere please. Other than that, keep playing overrated movies at an unbeatable price.

Only went here because the movie I went to see with a friend had only a limited area/​theaters showing it. I wouldn’t frequent this establishment ever unless I needed to.
Major teenagers and when I got out of the movie theater I had pink paintball splatters all over my car.
The cleanliness of the theater left a lot to be desired.

No, it’s not the cleanest. No it’s not the most modern. No, you can’t see first run movies here.
What you CAN do is see a movie for 50 cents (on Tuesday), and buy a hot dog for another 50 cents. The staff is friendly and the popcorn is fresh.
Nuff said! :) I love this place. Sometimes, on Tuesdays (my flex day), I buy tickets for two or three movies and stay there all day.
If you want a nicer theater, go to the Angelika, or the AMC Grand 24 (it’s not far away). If you want to see a movie you missed on the first-​run screens, or something you thought sounded fun, but not worth a 15-​dollar evening, come here.

If you want to watch your favorite new movie in an upscale, high class theater with the most up to date projectors… go somewhere else. This place is totally trash.
The screen is horrible and the picture goes funny almost every time I go… like some vertical black line that won’t go away… annoying. Also, its low prices attract some real winners. But for fifty cents, FIFTY cents, I can’t refuse taking the kids. I use this place to get the kids away from the wife for the evening. If the movie sucked, I could care less– i just paid fifty cents.
Also, to confirm my white-​trash behavior I go next door to Walmart beforehand to save a little more and buy skittles that I will stuff in my pockets before the show. I will buy popcorn at the theatre though.

muy horible! i do understand that this place is a discount movie theater, which, by the way is a good idea for the community as well as for those experiencing the burdens of the current economical crisis. however, this does not indicate that a business should not have clean restrooms, clean theaters and hallways and clean facilities altogether. this place is filthy. i felt dirty just by sitting there watching a 90 minute movie. the bathrooms are gross. the halls are disgusting with trash bags filled with trash just sitting by the theater doors. the only good things about this place are the parking is accessible and they have lots of parking spaces. also, on tuesdays you can catch a movie for 50 cents. other than that, HORRIBLE!

This placed was previously the AMC and it was re-​modeled to all auditorium-​style seating over a year ago. There had been a huge crowd of unruly teenagers hanging out in the parking lot but a couple months ago they instituted a policy of not allowing unaccompanied minors into the theater after about 7pm and it has helped quite a bit with the security. It was met with a lot of backlash at first but the improvement has helped. This is not the best theater around but it is much more affordable than the Rave at Ridgmar. It’s not as cheap as another reviewer mentioned though. I think she may be confused about the location.

The outside lacks any appeal, but the employees (kids) and the facility are all pleasant and clean.
The theater is great for movies that you thought you missed. I just saw Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, and it was released two months ago, January 23.
I would be careful of after dark use.

One word– CHEAP. If you don’t have much funds but want to see a decent movie. It 1.25 before 6pm and 1.75 after. That’s pretty cool.
Staff is decent but mostly high schoolers.
