History

Established in 2003.

Genares is the second global hotel reservation system developed by the Wilkins family. In the early 1990’s, brothers Michael and Ric capitalized on their own hotel brand — Lexington Hotel Suites and Inns. With 30 hotels in their portfolio (& the hotel CRS business not yet ‘discovered’), the Wilkins catapulted their central reservations system into Lexington Services Corporation, a 40 million dollar company taking reservations for over 4,000 hotels worldwide!

In 2003 Michael, Rick, & business partner Eugene Harris, reassembled the team to bring an enhanced, quality product to market in order to address the shortcomings in the other reservations systems available to hoteliers.

Genares Worldwide Reservation Services is the culmination of over 50 years of experience and proven success in the hospitality business. As a provider for hotel reservations, Genares provides the hotelier the benefit of having a worldwide hotel sales staff without the cost, & continues to define distribution.

Ursula Rhode, COO

As Chief Operating Officer, Ursula Rhode is committed to improve product quality & enhanced service to ensure efficient & affordable solutions for Genares member hotels to increase their revenue, contain their costs & extend their property’s marketability & industry exposure through the Internet & global distribution channels. Her responsibilities include establishing relationships with Internet partners, travel management companies, travel agents, consortiums, & international wholesalers to ensure that Genares is maximizing the use of continued technical advances & Internet distribution. She oversees the Reservation Sales Center, Global Distribution Department, Account Management, Marketing, Support Services Department & Technology Services Department.

Of German descent, Ursula was born & educated in Friedberg, Germany, & attended the Liopa in Bad-​Nauheim, West Germany, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business in 1972, with a focus in Communication
