Bad service, overpriced food, and worst of all I got food poisoning from one of their steaks.

Slow service, and the quality of the food was not memorable. Just keep walking if you pass by this bar!

Walking in here on a Monday night it was packed and lively! A lot of people having fun and enjoying their meal, company and FOOTBALLL! The portions for a Cali girl were huge! I can’t say much about the food here, because all I had was a Cobb Salad. The Service was great! The waiter graciously split our bill in 15 separate checks. A waiter in New York or San Francisco would have a HEARTATTACK over that request!

Yes, I am giving an airport chain 4 stars, read on. New Year’s Eve, 7:30pm… Hubby and I are on a layover from Jamaica back to San Antonio(I know, who would ever want to go back… but anyway). I had actually been looking forward to the tortellini minus the chicken add zucchini, like craving it on the airplane as this my friends was going to be my New Year meal. Well, hubby and I arrive and I do a big head smack when I realize the airport menu is different, duh right? Thomas ensured us we would be happy with other vegetarian options, he was sure of it. Our waiter Thomas was a New Year angel among the American Airlines and FAA devils that we had been dealing with all … day … long. We immediately ordered cheese sticks, add ranch and a beer and a glass of wine. Funny, I actually asked for the wine list and Thomas informed me they carry their house only, so I asked for Pino Noir, nope. Asked for Cabernet, got it Well cheese sticks arrived plentiful and hot, with the red sauce and the ranch, thanks Thomas. Hubby ordered a cup of the corn chowder. I had just a bite but it was bath worthy — tasted some green pepper and jalapenos I think, very good. Before fullness set in, our stomachs were bigger than our eyes and we ordered the quesadillas, minus chicken and add all the veggies they have in the back. Thomas requested mushrooms, red pepper, onion etc. etc. We finished half and that was a struggle. They really hit the spot but boy we were full. With the two drinks, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas — our tab was $ 39, essentially two apps, one entrée and two drinks. A bit pricey for dinner but a steal for a NYE dinner — hehe. Our waters were kept full, our food was served hot, the service was pleasant. Thanks Thomas and thanks Champps, our first meal in the US and a great NYE.

I liked this place because it was a restaurant/bar setting and had lots of tv screens in every viewing direction. Even though you’re at an airport, sometimes it’s hard to feel relaxed dining solo. And if people watching isnt your thing, you can pretend that you are a pro-golf fan(as that’s what was on when I was there). The waitstaff was nice. Saccharin sweet. Everything that they brought me, the waitress added«this looks *really* good». Um, you work here, lady! You are in TX, so be sure that you want medium rare if you ask for it! Normally in california med-rare gets you ‘hot pink’. But I do like med-rare! Having said that, the burger wasnt super yummy delicious. but it would do. I added cheese fries to my order for an additional $ 1 and change. But was disappointed cause the cheese looked more liquidy and I was expecting cheddar. but I digress Since I had so much time between flights, I decided to indulge in their cheesecake. I think I was more enthralled with the decorative(and super yummy delish) whipped cream, strawberries and berry sauce that surrounded the cake. Oh yeah, and they had like fake metal silverware! It was plastic, but metal shiny! I guess maybe airport patrons swipe the silverware from time to time?! It was just a bit… odd, to say the least! Oh yeah, and their airport menu doesnt seem to be as expansive as their online menu. But they had what I wanted, so that’s all that mattered! The entire meal set me back $ 19.82 not including tip, but hey, we were at an airport. I think it probably was the most pleasant experience that I could have imagined having at an airport restaurant. Next time I’m at the Dallas Airport for an extended stay, I might check out Cousins, though I would not be adverse to eating at Champps again!
