When in Texas, do as the Texans do? My cousin brought us here stating that this was the Texan Favorite homemade ice cream spot! I tried the Coffee Chocolate Crunch flavor which I enjoyed at first… but the more I had it, it wasn’t the best. I’d still recommend trying it out if you’re out visiting Texas, but I’ve certainly had better!

It’s hit or miss with this location. They are grade-A when it comes to treats and sweets; you can’t go wrong with a strawberry shortcake sundae. However, if it’s something hot you’re seeking — not sweets, more often than not, it’s lukewarm or soggy. If you’re looking for consistency and a sure-fire tasty meal, you may want to try a different Braums.

This review is for their ice cream only, although I wish I had a chance to try their burger. My coworkers and I came in around 8pm on a Sunday night, and there were plenty of people eating at Braum’s at the time. Luckily, the line to order was short(and moves quickly), so we were in and out within 5 – 10 minutes. I tried a sample of the Cookies n Cream, which was solid, but I knew I had to go with a Scoop of Butter Brickle(Single, $ 1.39?, ). This was delicious(I love the crunchy bits of butter brickle, which taste like a lighter version of toffee), and you really can’t beat a cone for less than $ 1.50. My coworker got two scoops and that was less than $ 2– amazing! I will definitely be back for additional ice cream in the future, and will hopefully try their burgers on my next visit. They have their own parking lot, but it’s not that large.

This BRAUMS that is located on 3601 is the BEST ! Wish I could say the same for the one that’s located in South Irving off of Shady Grove and Story Rd ! That one is like walking into a Kids store. I’ve brought it to the attention of Elton the Mgr … So he says he is but I’m a firm believer in actions speak louder than words ! When I brought the problem to his attention he said he had just made some moves and arrangements to get Customers in and out in a much quicker manner and that things are going to be much better the next time I came in … That was completely untrue ! Went in today on a(SLOWDAY) and I waited in from of 1 Customer for about 7 minutes minimum and still couldn’t get what I wanted ! SAD, SAD, SAD ! I bright it to the attention of the Mgr who’s name I can’t say due to her not having a name badge nor did she introduce herself when I introduced myself to her. That definitely isn’t PROFESSIONAL by any means ! I asked her why does it take 2 young men to take care of 1 customer while the 3rd is just standing @ the register on the ice cream side which where the Woman & I were ordering from ! She proceeded to give me excuses after excuse after excuse. Keep in mind this was a slow day and I could just imagine what’s going to happen on a just day. Complaint after complaint will be coming ! Got tired of hearing excuses because obviously no actions have been taken nor does it seem like any will be taken ! I decided to come to BRAUMS on Story Rd off of Northgate and as soon as I walked in and stood in line and I looked @ the time which was 7:02 pm ! Let’s just by 7:05 I was done paying and on my way to enjoying my Sundae … I was attended by a young Lady by the name of AMANDA who was also training someone in the process ! Now that I think about it the Braums in South Irving used the excuse that an employee was training someone and that is why they were slow in attending me ! Wait ! AMANDA was also training and it didn’t keep her from taken my order and getting me taken care of … That sounds like an excuse to me Braums in South Irving ! Now that is what service is about and this is how it’s done on a PROFESSIONAL level ! Maybe the Employees from the South Irving should come and get Trained over here ! I’m sure they will not mind showing you all how to get the job done. FYIBRAUMS in South Irving keep in mind that the Customers are and should always be # 1 Priority and they’re the reason you all have a job … Thank you ! AMANDA keep up the good work and keep doing what you do best !

Not many flavors for kids. Most of them have nuts but only sherbert, strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla without nuts. The banana split is very good.

Don’t usually come to this Braums location, so this is only based off of the one drive thru experience I had today. Ordered lunch for a friend and I and didn’t get anything left out. The Jalepeno Pepperjack burger was reallly good. I always order my burgers with no onions and was thankful they fulfilled my request: D(without having to open the wrapper before pulling away due to previous bad experiences at other drive thrus. Hah). I didn’t like that they asked if I wanted my drink to be a shake, and then if I wanted to upgrade to a large for however much more. Frankly if I desired such things, I would clearly articulate so to you. So didnt appreciate that much. The other thing is this place is slooowwww. I mean snail pace. They had really good fries that I will be back for though. Dessert is next visit.

Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Store is a combination of a restaurant, grocery store, & ice cream parlor. I come here for the ice cream only, so this review focuses on this experience. My Overall Rating — 4 Stars(Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — Well, I wish I could tell a better story, but the fact is this is definitely not the cleanest Braum’s in the DFW metroplex. In its defense, this shop has been around for over 20 years. I am not sure if they ever remodeled, but I can certainly say it shows its age. I do wish they would do a better job on cleaning. The fact is you’re not going to get a super clean tabletop, so be sure you use the napkins and wipe it down. No Stars. Service — I come here for the ice cream, and I have never had a problem with service. In fact, I have been here several times where the line is very long. However, it’s orderly, and the staff make sure they do their best to get your order and allow you to check out. 1 Star. Food — I truly believe Braum’s has the best ice cream value in town. You can order two single scoops, the banana split, and add a sundae for under $ 10 easily. They make everything in the house, and if you’re lucky you will be able to get their cherry limeade sherbert. The flavors seem to rotate as well, so you always have a chance to try something new. The ice cream is creamy, this scoops are large, and it is hard not to come away with something very tasty. If you live in Irving, you definitely should come here if you’re craving ice cream. 2 Stars. Will I Return? — Yes — but I will also make my way to the other Braum’s in the DFW area. While this is not the cleanest store, I know for a fact that I will can enjoy an ice-cold, tasty treat at a very reasonable price. When you combine that with the hot Texas summer, you have a winning combination. 1 Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.

The ice cream is okay, though you can get better in the grocery store. The facility is filthy every time we go.

It’s everything an ice-cream needs to be. And I mean that’s all it qualifies for. The ice cream is decent, but nothing special. Couldn’t find amazing ice cream place in Irving, but I suppose with yogurt shops popping up, ice cream is going out of style anyways.

This is the second negative experience I’ve had at this particular Braum’s location, so I’ve decided I’ve had enough of trying to give them a second chance. I’ve eaten at Braum’s in Grapevine, Texas several times and have always been satisfied. The service, food and ice cream is always delicious and generously portioned. Unfortunately, this Irving location is AWFUL! The service is very slow and the workers often seem confused about what they should be doing, what meal includes which items, etc. We went for ice cream one evening a few weeks ago. The kid(most of the workers at this location seem to be high school students) behind the counter seemed new, so we cut him quite a bit of slack. We had to explain what ingredients were supposed to be included in our sundaes, although the menu clearly describes the toppings and such. When we finally got our ice cream, the portions was extremely meager and small. Several of the ingredients were left out. We felt a little sorry for the kid, because the manager(who didn’t seem much older than he was) kept snapping at him about several other things while he was trying to wait on us. When we got home I, decided to email the Braum’s customer service address listed on their website. Days later, I received a curt reply stating that they were«sorry» and that was that. No offer of any attempt to make things right, not even a 50 cent coupon. Tonight, we went to the same location, waited in line for far too long, placed our order and went home. I guess we should have checked the bag before leaving because they neglected to include two of our items, which we had paid for. I called the number on the receipt and after about 10 rings, a female employee answered. I explained the situation and she spend the next ten minutes yelling back and forth to her«general manager», whom I could clearly hear in the background insisting that he personally gave us our complete order. What? He honestly remembers every single order they send out the door? And, he personally packs each one? How did he even know who we were? When I heard him mention he handed us two bags, then I knew he was«mistaken», since we were only handed one bag. When I told this to the female associate, she actually asked me if there was a chance we had left one of the bags in our car. Seriously? I won’t even to bother email«customer service» about this new incident. I figure, why bother? But, I will NEVER go to this Braum’s location again.

I am loving the summer flavors they are providing right now. I have had the Lemoncello, which is a lemony ice cream with chunks of cake swirled. I also had the Cherry Limade sherbert! This is the bomb! It’s tangy and very fruity!
