Advantage Rent-A-Car

Beware of the hard up-​sale and greasy sales job. I will not use this company again. I booked my in-​laws a car with a $ 135 ($ 185 with taxes) weekly rate. I forget to tell them to decline all the extra coverage and that the agents push you and mislead you into signing up for all the extras. So when they left the counter the bill was $ 750 for the week. I am having them take the car back.

I’m going to echo the similar statements as below but with another aspect with which this place is devious. I had ordered a normal intermediate car about a month prior to my trip to Dallas. When I got there they said they had no more cars and I could upgrade for 50 dollars a day which I declined. They then said they had a loaner van they could give me to drive myself around in for a day, but if it wasn’t returned within a day it would also cost 50 $ per day for the van as well. Driving a tank equivalent for one person with a busy conference week across town and interrupting my schedule was very frustrating. Even after expressing this there were no apologies only excuses about «at least it had wheels.» I travel a lot and use various rental car places and have never had the same hassle disrespect and frustrations with no attempts to either correct the mistake or deliver another car and all of it was placed on me and then trying to be convinced I was lucky to get something at all. The low cost is a ploy and it leads to no customer service and shady business practices that keep income of the company close to its competitors. I will never be using them again.

Buyers beware… the low prices are just a lure… once they are done selling… you end up paying way more than other places. Customer care is horrible and the check in line moves glacial pace as they try to sell you everything.
Never renting here

The car was brand new and in good shape. Checkout guy was friendly and helpful. However when I was getting the car I declined all coverage. Then was asked to sign something about my coverage and I said «no, I’m declining coverage» and the guy at the counter said «right, this is to decline coverage». Then at checkout I look at my bill and WHAT!!! It’s more than double what I booked due to them putting basics coverage on the car. The same guy was at the counter and when I went in to ask him to remove it he shrugged and went «you signed it.» He’s right — if you get a car here read VERY CAREFULLY no matter what the people tell you. I don’t know if it was just a misunderstanding due to his very thick accent but I’m pretty pissed.
