United Studios of Self Defense

It has been an honor both knowing and training with Master Turner. What started as an opportunity for my son, Trevor, to learn focus, discipline, honor, and self defense has for our family become a way of life. Sensei Jack has an incredible way of meeting you where you’re at, while drawing out your best. Trevor has now trained for 8 years and is a Jr. Black Belt. Andrew has trained for 4 years and is a Green Belt. Training with Sensei has been one of the best investments that we have made in ourselves. Not all martial arts instruction is the same. The USSD system is awesome. Training with a 7^th Dan who is in submission to a Grandmaster, Professor Mattera, is both incredibly rare and a huge blessing.

I’ve been studying with Master Jack Turner for 8 years. Starting martial arts training as an adult isn’t easy, but under Master Turner’s direction I have made steady progress while really enjoying myself. Master Turner is, to my knowledge, the only sixth-​degree black belt actually teaching beginning and intermediate students anywhere in the area. Finally, this studio is a great place for kids. Master Turner is a parent and is great with kids, many of whom have become accomplished martial artists over the years.
