We were looking for temporary living between a time we sold our home and a new home was ready. We were assisted by Christopher Terry. Chris was as professional, courteous and knowledgeable as they get! He walked us through the available options, addressed our special needs of a large apartment and short lease term, and was able to come up with a solution that would enable us to get through the temporary stage, at a reasonable price.

since the new management came and the leasing office moved to Anastasia, the community management, cleanness and many other things went down. I went to the leasing office this week twice reporting for the neighbors dog poop in the small green land scape in front the apartment door and no body came to remove it or even talk to the owner of the dog because the dog poop INCREASED !!! In addition to it the Smell and insects coming out of it despite the disgusting scene. It doesn’t seem as a clean organized community anymore, specially for the price we are paying we are not getting the service and attention it take

At the end of April, we moved into a renovated unit. We wish we hadn’t. We received parking warnings for parking without a resident sticker — something that wasn’t explained or provided to us during the move in process. The new carpet smells like a smelly dog. Most annoying of all, for the last three weeks we’ve lived with an ant invasion. We’ve contacted the office multiple times and they’ve promised to spray outside our unit and they still haven’t. My husband even showed the Maintenance crew where to instruct the exterminators to spray. The staff has been nice, but we need a greater sense of urgency and competence.

Parking is terrible, people abuse the permit system and do not park in the garage, sales people (Timmarie) lie through their teeth to get the commission, management could give 0 craps about concerns and won’t enforce the rules, and management is biased towards the people who pay more money. Just moved in last week and if it wasn’t so expensive to invoke the 30 day satisfaction clause I would move out asap. When lease is up, I will not be renewing.
The management’s solution is to expect a young woman with small children to park outside the community and walk ½ miles late at night.
Stay away and find another community

We moved here a few months ago and couldn’t be happier. The property is beautiful, the apartments are completely upgraded, and I have never had a problem finding a parking spot. I looked at many apartments and what sold me was the fact that they have a on site activities director. They are constantly planning amazing activities for the kids and adults. Parissa is the on site activities director and she does an incredible job planning the monthly activities. the activities range anywhere from Zumba classes, cooking classes, bounce house water slides by the pool. Ect. We all look forward to the activities. In addition solana have a gorgeous club house that I recently rented out for a party. I would recommend solana to anyone who is looking for a great family community.

I love the maintenance staff Lorenzo and Jesus, they’re always so helpful and care for there residents. That’s the logo «love where you live» love it!

I am not a resident but was visiting a friend who is. Solana has a wonderful, helpful and friendly onsite staff, in particular Jesus Luna, who found my dog when he managed to get off leash. Jesus watched over him until we were reunited (and yes, and it felt so good). I am grateful and appreciative of his generosity and kindness. Thanks Jesus!

Stopped by to tour these apartments in my search of a new home and was incredibly impressed with the staff and property! Mark was so helpful and pleasant!

Fraudulent! Make sure you constantly check in with them upon move-​out!
They tried to commit fraud and send our final invoice that should have included a check to us with our security deposit, but instead included a BILL! They said we were rent responsible up until May 2^nd, which was the official end of our lease HOWEVER we moved out on the 20^th and someone moved into our apartment on the 26^th. So we should have only been charged for 5 days. It is illegal to collect double rent on an apartment!
They also wrote that we had notified them of when we would be moving out on the 26^th of the previous month HOWEVER we notified them on the 20^th. When I went to turn in our intent to vacate form, the girl in the office had no idea what she was doing. I recognized that right away and asked her to sign, date, and photo copy it for me. So I have a hard copy and proof that this is another error on their part.
They also give you a long check-​list of things that need to be cleaned upon move-​out. The list covers everything from cleaning the carpet to wiping out the drip pan in the oven. It’s a ridiculous cleaning list as the majority are things that every landlord is responsible to clean before a new tenant moves in, but what they fail to tell you is that even if you miss one item on the list, you will be charged the FULL cleaning charge! There is no pro-​rated cleaning charge! (This is NOT stated in the lease, but it might be soon as I pointed it out)
Luckily, I had called the day we moved out and they had said they had someone scheduled to move-​in on the 26^th (I think they said 24^th, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt here since i didn’t write that date down at the time)
I had the paperwork proving our notification, and I had pictures of the apartment when we moved in AND when we moved out. So when we received this BILL I immediately called and pointed out all of their errors. They obviously corrected the rent issue because they clearly didn’t realize I had called and was informed someone had moved in, but I’m sure they do this to everyone so if you are rent responsible, check in and see when someone has moved-​in! They were much more hesitant with the cleaning fees, but as I said I had pictures of everything, so they also returned this fee as I’m sure they were nervous since they clearly didn’t do their due diligence in charging us for the proper things.
Take away: Be VERY careful when getting out of the Irvine company because they will try to suck every penny out of you when they in fact owe you. Do your part and have proof of everything so they cannot take advantage of you when they try… which they will… every time!

Where do I start? These apartments are not at all what they seem to be. The maintenance team here are so under qualified its a shame. I’ve been living here for a year now and within the first month my toilet, window, and smoke detector broke in my so called newly renovated apartment. These three necessities continued to break each time maintenance came to do their duck tape fix. Just recently my daughter complained she saw a bug in her bed. Turns out they were bed bugs. I called the office that same day as stated my lease and was told I was responsibale for the infestation. All this took place on a Sunday and I was scheduled to get rid of the bugs that Wednesday until I was told by the office I had to go through their contracted company. Their contracted company charged $ 1250 and took nearly a month to correct the problem. This lead to the infestation spreading to the whole 3 bedroom unit. My husband and I along with our 4 babies were forced to sleep in the living room still getting bit. Now that we’ve been cleared to go back into our rooms, the kids room has a water leak and now they can’t go in there. I’m almost sure this could have been prevented had maintenance address the issues correctly upstairs the first time. Living here has been a nightmare. Having to pay $ 1250 for an un reliable pest control company and paying $ 2470 for a 3 bedroom while making all 6 people sleep in the living room for over a month is not my idea of loving where you live. My family absolutly hate it here and wish we can get out the last two months of our lease. Please if your thinking of moving here read all the Unilocal reviews and take them into consideration. I sure wish I did. Also, rent month to month because you’ll wish you had.

I’ve lived at solana for about 1.5 years now in two different apartments. I’ll start by saying I’ve never had a problem with the leasing office. Ashley has always been extremely helpful.
The main point of my review is before you move check out who is going to be living near and especially above you (or just avoid 1^st and 2^nd floor units). The first apartment I lived in was on the third floor never had any noise issues expect for a few doors slamming which would shake the walls or residence below would have a party and there would be some loud music. I can handle things like that because it’s short lived.
Now I live on the second floor now and the noise from above is unbearable. Constant stomping. When I wake up to the moment I leave for work — stomping. As soon as I get home from work and until I go to bed — stomping. If I didn’t have to pay to break my lease — I would be long gone by now.
So to reiterate my point — tour these apartments when future neighbors might be around. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

My family and I came back to California from Alabama and moved into this WONDERFUL apartment complex, Solana. The manager that they had at the time (2007) was fantastic and the rest of her staff was great! Then we ended up moving, stayed in Northridge for about a year, and came back. We were lucky to get a downstairs apartment in the front of the complex and stayed for 4 years. Then trouble started after they had the new manager come in, Sam. With him came car towing without ANY notice, rent going up without any ability to help anyone who really couldn’t afford the high prices they have, and his overall attitude to try and make sure that he was doing what Irvine Company told him to do without thinking about what the residents might need help with. The parking REALLY stunk there and he made sure that without ANY NOTICE, that he towed certain cars. He did give us a notice about the towing of the cars AFTER he had already towed a neighbors car. I have no problems with any of the other managers, in fact I think that Ashley is WONDERFUL. But I think that Sam is the one who is trying to please the company without thinking about what his tenants think about him. If we move back to California and end up in Irvine again, we will NOT go where Sam is the manager because I can’t STAND the man, and what I would REALLY like to say, this post wouldn’t make it on here ANY TIME AT ALL! So, if you are looking for a place that has high rent, an inconsiderate manager, and the parking SUCKS, don’t move here! Go anywhere else but here!

They hired new exterminators and new security! So the ants should be handled shortly. The annoying rebel teenagers have been MIA in recent weeks.
I have never had an unpleasant experience with the staff. Because of my work schedule, my husband is the main point person with the office and stated that they were addressing every issue that has comes to their attention. For these reasons, I must update this rating from a hastily selected 2 to a more honest 4. My husband would give them a 5 but I’m still a tad bit disturbed about the 8 week ant attack. Also, I’m cheap and I wish the rent was cheaper, but it’s Irvine so what can you do?
Definitely check the place out. It is a very family friendly and well located community. I did recommend it to a recent relocation at my company for all the good reasons I mentioned.

You have to be careful with these Unilocal reviews because as most people know, experiences vary greatly from person to person. I live in the back of the Complex as well, but I haven’t had the horror stories or some of the vague issues posted.
Every interaction that I’ve had with the staff has always been pleasant and extremely helpful. We had a massive move and it took us quite a bit of time to find the right place. After searching frantically, we found Solana. My wife fell in love with the upkeep, customer service and the apartment itself. The staff worked with us as signed our lease in two different states, since the rest of the family hadn’t moved over yet.
Maintenance has been courteous, professional and timely. Any issue we’ve ever brought to the staff’s attention, they have addressed it immediately. The neighbors are friendly and because Solana offers 3 bedrooms, you find a lot of families, which is fun for the kids. I have noticed the teenage kids in Peter’s canyon but that’s an issue the Irvine P.D. needs to handle.
As a banking professional, I’ve enjoyed calling Solana home. Again, take this review, like any review, with a grain of salt. This is merely my experiences and opinions. I challenge you to take the time, visit the property and come to your own conclusion for yourself.

This community is one of the worst in the IAC family. Horrible maintenance, they do the bare minimum to repairs things. The parking is horrific, take a drive near the school at night; you’ll find at least 20 cars parked there because the complex doesn’t have adequate parking. They raise the rent annually but does nothing to warrant the increases. The new manager is horrific, he’s rude and obnoxious (what happened to love where you live). The only good comment that I can make is that there’s 2 pools and they are rarely crowded. No need to look up my info, I’m smart enough to be anonymous so you don’t go looking up my info and harrass me. Btw~ We have submitted multiple letters/​calls regarding maintenance issues as well as the cars parked in the guest spaces for weeks at a time, so you should have that on record.

If you enjoy a normal quiet apartment neighborhood with the absolute best management that will take great care of you, DO NOT LIVE IN SOLANA APARTMENTS…
I repeat you’re going to over pay for poor management, no sleep (the landscaping people work EVERY morning at 8 am sharp with absolutely no FUCKS given towards any towards the residents), and very HIGH possibility of getting your car towed every night.
So if you want the joys and quietness of Irvine, California do NOT live here cause every time you pasts that gate it feels like you’re in the ghetto
