It’s couple doors down Burntzilla and there was a lot of people trying it out. It is nitrogen frozen ice cream so it is really creamy. You get to choose the Milk base: soy, regular or super rich milk. Since I am lactose intolerant, I chose a middle of the road one. I got the green apple ice cream with chocolate drizzle and almonds in a chocolate cup. It was so yummy. The tartness of the ice cream complimented the sweetness of the chocolate. The ice cream was very creamy. Two thumbs up!

I think their selling point is the same as many other «premium» ice cream shops that makes the ice cream upon order. But making ice cream in front of your face does not automatically make the quality of the ice cream better.
First: the customized menu was confusing, i wasn’t able to choose my order by just looking at the menu on the wall because they didn’t list the flavors, toppings and pairing on it. So i was confused until I see the full menu at the cashier. From looking at the diagram on the menu I thought they allow two flavors per order, but no! They only allow one flavor per order. Then what is the point for having two different colors scoop on the diagram. Again confusing. I asked the staff how many scoops that their classic creation has? He said 2. I guess I should have asked him 2 of the small scoops, or the medium scoops or the large scoops? Apparently, from the diagram, all their ice cream order includes two scoops of ice cream. I recommend to get their classic creations because they were cheaper and are about the same size as large.
Second: their ice cream quality wasn’t as premium as expected. I ordered the piña colada with mango on top. The flavors were okay. Ice cream texture was dense and smooth, like they added condense milk. I can taste the coconut and pineapples in the ice cream, but it was too sweet to my liking. Was it worth $ 8? No. When I noticed they have many flavor powder on the counter, I don’t know how premium the quality can be from artificial coloring and flavors.

Tasty ice cream and friendly staff. My friend got the mint chip on a warm chocolate chip cookie and I got salted caramel with pretzel on a warm chocolate chip cookie.

This place is THEE ice cream spot. The menu is extremely diverse, they’ve got like 50 flavors to choose from. Choices ranging from vanilla bean to black sesame, from green mint to almond date. The strawberry is my personal favorite but the salted caramel n the s’mores iconic creation they have is amazing. It’s a toasted marshmallow ice cream flavor with crushed graham cracker and real toasted marshmallows too, and chocolate sauce on top. That’s my personal favorite. Gotta try it for yourself

The absolute best ice cream I’ve discovered in Orange County. I’ve had rose ice cream at multiple places, but Scoops does it like no other.
Andy, the owner, always comes around the counter and asks his guests how they like their ice cream whenever he has the time. Excellent customer service and product. I’m so glad they’re right down the street from my place!

This place is relatively expensive and it takes a while to get your order, BUT they do make your ice cream in front of your face. There are also many custom options, in terms of what kind of dairy or coconut base you want, flavors, etc. There is probably something for everyone here.
I tried the red bean mochi black sesame custom creation, which was basically black sesame ice cream with red bean and mochi bits dumped on top. As a whole it was disappointing, but the black sesame ice cream itself was very and tasted fresh. I also tried the espresso cookies and cream, which was a little too milky for my taste.

I really didn’t want to like this place because it’s kind of far from me but I LOVE IT! My beau’s been wanting to try this place so we went here after dinner.
It’s one of those liquid nitrogen ice cream places so you have the option of making your own creation of ice cream with different options of milk bases, flavors, and toppings. We couldn’t decide on what to make so we tried one of their signature creations instead. We tried the Arabian baklava. It was soooo good!!! The baklava was warm, flaky, and oozing with honey. The ice cream was mixed with filo pastry flakes as well, giving it a nice, flaky texture.

They have a very long extensive menu in addition to their build your own option. Went with one of their creations, the expresso cookies and crème. It was actually really good, I wasn’t really craving ice cream so i shared. Definitely a shareable treat. It was not too sweet, the expresso flavor was very light but was there. I wish there was more expresso than cookies and crème. At first look the ice cream looked a little melty but the texture was not melty at all. Really good but also on the pricy side.

I came here with a friend after lunch at Curry House. I’ve had this place on my bookmarks for a while and I didn’t realize it was right next to Curry House. So when I saw it as we pulled in for lunch we decided to get some dessert here. The service is okay, I guess it could be better. The woman at the cashier just handed us a menu. She looked kinda bored and indifferent. I let my friend decided since I’m not a big sweet eater. She choose the medium strawberries and cream for us to split. Strawberry ice cream is never my first choice, but I’m glad my friend choose it because it turned out pretty good. We placed our order and sat down at a table inside while waiting for our ice cream. It was cool to watch them make our ice cream with all the nitrogen smoke steaming out across the counter.
Our ice cream didn’t take long and when they called our order my friend went to get pick it up from the counter. It was nicely presented with a huge swirl of whipped cream on top. The ice cream and whipped cream together was light, creamy and not too sweet. I loved the little pieces of frozen strawberries in it, gave the dessert a fruity crunch. The ice cream was so cold it made my tongue numb and tingly, what an experience.
If this place can make me enjoy strawberry ice cream, then I wonder how good their ice creams are that I really like. I also saw that they served healthy options like coconut and organic ice cream. Totally coming back, I really want to try their salted caramel pretzel ice cream and their mango ice cream.

I chose «Almond Date» off of their iconic creations menu. The dates and ground almonds added nice textures and flavors to the ice cream, which had a smooth and creamy consistency. I appreciated that my creation wasn’t overly sweet.

2015 Unilocal 100 CHALLENGE — ⁰⁸⁸⁄₁₀₀
Came here on a whim a few weeks ago with my boyfriend after dinner. We wanted to go somewhere else but it was closed already, so we found Scoops N Scoops on Unilocal and it sounded promising!
Liquid nitrogen ice cream places are popping up left and right. Unfortunately, I don’t go to them too often because the prices tend to be extremely expensive in comparison to regular ice cream shops.
There is a big mirrored wall facing the entrance to this store which makes it look deceptively larger than the store actually is. I thought they had a ton of seating… but apparently not! lol.
There were two teenage guys working here. We were new so they handed us a menu to check out. I am an extremely indecisive person and the build-​your-​own just overwhelmed me with the large amount of different options and toppings, so the guys recommended trying out one of their preset items on the other side of the menu.
I went with one of the presets that was liked salted caramel with pretzels. The two orders came out to around $ 10, which really wasn’t TOO bad considering I have paid almost double for the same amount of ice cream at other liquid nitrogen ice cream places! Our order came out pretty quickly too for being a liquid nitrogen place as normally these places take a little while since they make every thing to order.
I really enjoyed my ice cream. I absolutely LOVE the consistency of liquid nitrogen ice cream because it is incredibly smooth and creamy — noticeably different from regular ice cream. The salted caramel also paired really well with the pieces of pretzels. My boyfriend got some coffee ice cream with Oreos in it and he didn’t seem to be impressed. I don’t think he really likes nitrogen ice cream so that might just be him: P
The biggest thing I did not like about this place was that the tables were VERY gross and sticky. omg I couldn’t even put my phone down on the table without fear of it getting stuck to the table top. I ended up using napkins to serve as a placemat for everything I set on the table because I didn’t want it to stick. It seemed like the two teenagers were the only ones working here and they were behind the counter the whole time so nobody was cleaning the tables/​floor in between customers.
Overall, worth checking out. Not the best liquid nitrogen place I’ve been to, but still good!

Meh, I already had my sweet tooth craving satisfied after visiting Cream Pan, but my sister had her eye set on this place after seeing pictures of their popular red waffle cones. I’ve had several liquid nitrogen ice cream places before, and while I do find the process of making the ice cream interesting to watch, I don’t really taste a difference once it’s in my mouth. Probably because I am not a big ice cream fan, I didn’t find the ice cream here to really be anything special.
The menu is a little complicated. You pick a size, base it with a specific type of ice cream (premium, non-​fat yogurt, organic, non-​dairy and GF), add flavorings, toppings (additional cost), and pairings (also additional cost). Or you can go with one of the store’s custom creations where they already have ingredients, toppings, etc. added in a way they feel go together at a set price. I feel like the possibilities are quite limitless, so it’s best to go in with an idea of what you want/​like.
Unfortunately for my sister, the red waffle cones were all out and they only had the regular brown waffle cones. She opted for the macaron ice cream sandwich with strawberry ice cream. There were two scoops of strawberry ice cream (made from their liquid nitrogen machines) sandwiched between their almond macaron shell. I thought the shell was pretty tasty, but you had to really eat it fast or else the ice cream would make it soggy. There was a good almond taste and was quite chewy although it retained the slight crispiness that a macaron usually has. The strawberry ice cream was nothing spectacular. Not creamier or smoother — they probably could have just replaced it with ordinary no-​brand ice cream and I wouldn’t have known the difference. After a few bites, the dessert became way too sweet. And it was hard to finish.
My parents wanted to try their black sesame red bean and mochi creation, which I feel was created to be geared towards Asians. Even hearing it made me question my dad if that was what he really wanted. At $ 6.50, it was definitely a disappointment! The black sesame ice cream was quite flavorless and lacked the nutty aroma that black sesame ice cream usually has. The red beans were quite a mess! Super mushy and definitely not cooked to the precision that Asian desserts usually need. And the mochi was nothing special. I think my mom questioned whether the black sesame ice cream was black sesame or peanut butter because she couldn’t taste the black sesame at all. This was a big disappointment, and sadly my dad had to finish it because nobody liked it.
The storefront itself is quite nice — a few tables and chairs for guests to sit at, as well as outdoor tables. The workers were friendly, but I think the woman helping us was a bit impatient as she tried to take my sister’s order. When asked about the macaron shell, she answered us as if we should already know the answer in a «duh» manner of voice.
tl;dr — Not a place I would return to if I get a sweet tooth craving. They do offer a Unilocal check-​in deal, so make sure to take advantage of that. The ice cream creations that my sister and dad ordered were pretty big failures, although the macaron ice cream did make for a good photo op. The best thing about this visit was watching the ice cream being made and the macaron shells.

Wowwwwowow I FINALLY got to try this place after being bookmarked since its opening. I was so excited upon entering that I forgot to use my $ 1 off for checking in since I was distracted by the variety of flavors!!!
I’ve been in San Diego for school and I definitely miss the OC ice cream joints. The flavor and texture of the ice cream here is perfection. Once I walked in, the staff greeted me and made sure that I understood the menu and how to order. There are four types of bases (regular ice cream is recommended) and an infinite number of flavors and toppings.
I chose the strawberry ice cream (which has real fruit pieces) topped with cheesecake bits and cotton candy. Toppings are $ 1 so it all adds up, but it’s worth it if you’re coming here for a treat! I
Everything is customizable to your liking so I’m sure there is something for everyone. They organize their flavors by candy, cereal, cookie, fruit, fresh brew, international, and nuts. Everyone’s got to find something they like within those categories right??? Some of the interesting ones to me were cinnamon bun, cookie butter, baklava, rose water, and orange cream.
The ice cream is made with liquid nitrogen right in front of you, the same concept as creamistry which is also nearby. You can choose to have toppings on top or blended in. Did you know liquid nitrogen is how dippin dots are made too? This concept has been around for a while but is not becoming popular entertainment in local ice cream shops.
I recommend the red velvet ice cream. There’s bits of real red velvet cake in every bite, and the ice cream is the perfect thickness! The cotton candy is difficult to eat with the ice cream but once you press it down into the cold ice cream, you can scoop your cotton candy and ice cream together and it’s a sweet treat.
They have special drinks too for those who want a sweet treat on the go.
I like the aesthetics of this store, the cute clear cups, colorful spoons, interior design, and logo too. Everything sells.
The best thing about my trip was that I was told a location in San Diego is opening soon near me! This shop is doing so well that they are able to expand outside of Southern California. Congrats to scoops!

Thanks Unilocal for introducing this place to me. Orange County is poppin’ with creameries with freshly made nitrogen chilled ice cream. Here’s another one to add to the list. This place has a very similar set up to Creamistry. You can choose the base and then the flavors.
I opted for their Iconic Creation and chose the Saffron pistachio rose water ice cream. I was sooo happy with this choice! The ice cream had subtle flavors with hints of rose. I couldn’t distinctly taste the saffron, but loved that they sprinkled pistachio nuts all over. The crunchy texture from the nuts and the creamy ice cream work well together. I’d definitely try this again.
I took a few bites of another Iconic Creation: the salted caramel crunch with a warm cookie. I don’t think I could’ve eaten the whole thing since it was really rich, but sharing this would be perfect.
My BIGGEST and ONLY gripe about this place would be the plastic plates they use to serve the ice cream if you eat there. They use a thick durable plastic plate to serve their ice cream and they do not reuse it at all. They don’t recycle either! It’s just thrown away in the thrash. They need to reuse these plates or use something else to serve the ice cream. How wasteful! And they try to be environmentally friendly by serving biodegradable spoons? Doesn’t make sense. I won’t come back until this is changed.

Scoops N Scoops is mainly an ice cream shop that makes your order on the spot with liquid nitrogen. They do however have some unique offerings that I have not seen at other shops. A couple examples from their Iconic Creations Menu are the Crème Brûlée, which seemed very popular and looked delicious! Also their Vanilla N Cotton Candy, topped with actual cotton candy.
My friends and I had just finished dinner, that the Scoops N Scoops management kindly let us eat at their establishment since it was freezing outside, so I wasn’t quite ready to tackle too much for dessert.
I ordered a scoop of coconut ice cream that came with coconut flakes and I added a raspberry swirl. It was good and creamy. I think I might skip the coconut flakes next time as to not overpower everything.
My friends shared the Strawberries and Crème Iconic Creation, which was strawberry ice cream in a waffle cup and topped with whipped cream. My selection was good, but I preferred theirs.
Of course we checked in on Unilocal and received a $ 1 discount per order. Prices were not too bad for ice cream made on the spot. I think I’ll be back to try the Crème Brulée! Although, it’s hard to pass up a macaron ice cream sandwich too!

Scoops N Scoops is the latest creamery capitalizing on the LN2 fad that’s been so prevalent in the ice cream business. It’s located in the shopping center with Smart & Final, Trader Joe’s, and Curry House.
When I first walked in — about 2 hours before closing, there was a sizable line, which gave me time to peruse the somewhat overwhelming menu.
There’s a lot of options to choose from and an option to create your own custom creation, so for indecisive people like me, it can be a bit difficult to narrow down your choices. I have to say I was unduly influenced by the pictures I had seen on Unilocal and ordered a Cotton Candy and Vanilla flavor, which was $ 5.50. From the pictures, you can see that it comes with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and a large puff of blue cotton candy.
I feel kind of bad for the workers, they have a lot of cleaning to do after each customer since they have to wash the bowls every time. It also means that there’s a long wait time to get your order.
Once I got the cotton candy and vanilla ice cream, I was a happy camper! The cotton candy and vanilla flavors mixed together were perfection! The vanilla ice cream was perfectly creamy, sweet and delicious. The two together were bomb and it just looked really cute as well. My only complaint is that the ice cream can be somewhat thick/​hard and not easily scooped out with the plastic spoons.
Overall, definitely a good liquid nitrogen ice cream place to try.

Unilocal challenge 2015. ²²⁹⁄₃₆₅
This is not like regular icecream. And I am not a fan. To those who like Nitrogen infused ice cream, this is for you. But for my taste buds, I simply just did not care for it. However, I seem to be one of the minority’s when it comes to liking it. I really expected it to be a mouthful of creamy goodness like all the other Unilocalers.
Located off I-​5 on Culver in Irvine, next door to The Curry House. On the inside it looks cool. Nice and clean. Comfortable tables, clean bathroom, self serve water. What a cool show they put on too, when the liquid nitrogen hits the mixture, creating a quick cloud of cold smoke, Poof!!! Freezing your expensive treat quickly.
It seems the flavor is not in the icecream, but in the toppings. We ordered/​shared a medium Vanilla bean, mixed with almonds, toffee and topped with chocolate fudge and more almonds. Size wise, the scoop was on the small size for the price. I couldn’t taste any vanilla in the ice cream. Granted, it was liquid Vanilla, but we should be able to taste it. There was zero hint of Vanilla. Very plain. The best part of the creation was the chocolate fudge on top. After a couple bites I was over it.
The texture is a little different. I am a texture person. To me things need to happen naturally. When you rush something, like ice cream it messes with its anatomy and makes it feel artifical in your mouth. is softer than regular ice cream and not as creamy. It is also not as cold as a scoop of regular ice cream.
To top it off, our bowl had a nice arm hair in the cup stuck to the side that we found towards the end. Gross.

Okay seriously, did I just pay $ 5.50 for a small scoop of ice cream? I took a picture of the scoop next to my iPhone 6 for reference.
The ice cream was good, but how can you go wrong with strawberry ice cream??? I wasn’t impressed by the whipped cream topping either. I was expecting something better than just whipped cream to go with their signature «strawberry and cream» option. Maybe I need to give this place another try but for that price, I’d rather go to sprinkles ice cream or afters… Worst value ever.

I promised to give this place a second chance after they’d been open awhile so I stopped in on my way home from work and got brownie birthday cake ice cream in a waffle bowl.
The crew here worked quickly — faster than any liquid nitrogen place I’ve been to — and were very upbeat.
The birthday cake ice cream with brownie bits was pretty good. Very thick and creamy… and quite sweet as you’d probably expect. I don’t know what was up with the waffle bowl but it tasted terrible. Like I bit into a dirty sock. Maybe it’s just suppose to be for looks and not eaten. I took a bite and tossed it. Aside from that unpleasantness it was definitely an improvement from my prior visit.

4 stars cause I was so happy eating this but minus one for sanitation
Decided to come in to alleviate my mood. so glad I did. It was a toss up between lemon curd or black sesame. Settled for the lemon curd and omgggg
So da happy with this choice. I chose one of their creations that included crushed nilla wafers. I’m too lazy to go into detail, but if you’re looking for something not terribly sweet with some good textural contrast. Ahh pick lemon curd
Checked in and got $ 1 off. Tables were sticky though so I didn’t put my phone on any .
Service is friendly and there’s a great variety of flavors :) I’ll come back if I’m in the area since this part of irvine is kinda a drive
