Rendez Vous Nails

This was the worst gel manicure I’ve ever had! It was messy, as if a child had painted my nails, and my nails were totally rough and I had to file them myself as soon as I left. To add to the problem, the way the woman took off my previous gels was wrong. And now all of my nails are so thin they feel like they’re going to break (and I get gel nails all the time, elsewhere).
My only regret, besides going there, is that I actually left her a tip! I’m never going back!!!

I found this place on Unilocal and I personally had a great experience. I had a spa pedicure for $ 20 and Helen was my pedicurist and she was very sweet and let me relax the whole time. Wonderful foot massage, she didn’t rush at all. She did an excellent French tip! I tipped her $ 10, you definitely don’t get the typical stuck up vibe you get at Happy Nails or any other nail place in Irvine. Only knock would be it’s extremely quiet, I wish they’d put some soothing music on but over all good experience. I will definitely be returning

I called before I came here to see how late/​if they were open. They told me that I could come in as soon as possible and they would be able to accommodate me. I arrived five minutes later only to be still waiting twenty minutes later… Someone who walked in after me is getting helped before me (maybe because they’re a repeat customer? Idk but that’s unprofessional)
While I was explaining the design I wanted to the woman, she just walked away while I was mid sentence and then when she started doing my nails she did them wrong… Not happy at all. And she just stopped my manicure midway and started doing someone else’s pedicure … Seriously?

The first time I came here they did a fabulous French manicure for me ($ 17). The second I came I got a French manicure a regular pedicure. The pedicure came out great, but my manicure is horrible and I have my brothers wedding this weekend. She made me bleed on 3 different fingers. My nails have air bubbles on them and the French part is super thick. When I pointed all of this out she said it was the way my nails are… um bs. It was $ 31 total which is cheap and totally shows.

This review is only for brazilian wax. Get Jennifer! She has been my bikini waxer for 3 years now and I recommend all my friends to her! She takes her time, listens to what you want is is very gentle. Next time you get a wax, ask for for her!

Great nail place and I continue to go back!

The pricing I received on the phone was reasonable– $ 26 for a pedi and mani.
When I got there, I asked if the same pricing would apply if I used two colors for my manicure for a color blocking, I received an answer of yes.
However, after receiving one of the most aesthetically unappealing manicures I’ve ever gotten, I was told that my charge would be $ 36 plus a tip.
When I complained, they told me they had a misunderstanding, but did not apologize or relent. I tried to push for some sort of middle ground/​compromise, but they repeatedly said that they made a mistake in the beginning– which is something I would think they would own up to.
Maybe it was just the manicurists who were working there at the time, but I left $ 40 poorer with ugly finger nails.
1. They told me the wrong pricing and wouldn’t own up to it
2. How could they charge $ 10 more for one color more– no designs, just a basic stripe. maybe I would understand if it was done better
I’m not a nail expert, so judging quality would be odd on my part, but when I showed them a picture of what I wanted (color blocking is really simple) they agreed and proceeded to do it at a level much below par at other salons. My two colors were dark pink and purple, and they layered the pink above the purple on the bottom half of my nails, but only did one layer, rendering the pink light and see-​through, like boogers :(

The place i originally wanted to go to was fully booked, so this place was right next to shadows salon where i get my hair cut. I looked up reviews on Rendezvous Nails and the reviews ere pretty good! SO. i gave it a try. What a mistake! I’ve been getting my nails done for 4 years straight, and i just recently moved to Irvine, so ive been relying on Unilocal to direct me to reputable places.
REASONS WHY THIS PLACE SUCKS:
1. The manicurists are RUDE. They talk SH** about you the entire time in vietnamese to each other. They dont talk to you at all except for when they try to push other services on you. which leads me to my next point.
2. GREEDY, greedy, greedy. They will pest you to add a pedicure onto your manicure no matter how many times you say no. They try to sell a gel top coat on top of your acrylics, and if you dont buy the gel, the manicurist will literally tell you «eh. i like gel better. its not nice without gel.» Back at my usual salon back home the gel topcoat was complimentary and people were so nice.
3. BAD QUALITY NAILS: I’ve been getting my nails done for 4 years now and trust me i know what «good quality nails» look like. The pedicure wasnt bad ill give them that but the acrylics were horrible. there were lumps and bubbles on almost every finger and she used two different powders on my nails pink for the nail and clear for the tip because i had white tips. She messed up on the powders and put pink into my white tips and didnt fix them. ON TOP OF THAT: she cut me and put nail polish over the cut and it burned. she did this TWICE even after i told her not to.
You can go experience it for yourself and hope you get something better out of it, but as fo me. im never coming back!

I came here twice now and always leave a happy customer. The first time I came was the night before graduation and realized that I should pretty up a bit, so I came here at 7:30pm. They were closing but were happy to give me a mani-​pedi. The two ladies were very friendly and caring and did an awesome job. The second time I went to get a pedi, Linda was my cosmetologist again and she did the same fantastic job as the first time. She is very meticulous about her work, which means that she will take the time necessary to make your toes perfect! Rendez Vous Nails is definitely my go-​to place now! The prices are also really decent: $ 20 including tip for a spa pedicure!

Just got back from there. The ladies were nice inside. For me, massages make up the mani-​pedi for me. The massage was great.
They almost got me on the upsell though. All you really need is your basic mani-​pedi which is $ 26 + tip. Don’t fall for the laminated sheet!

I was nervous about trying somewhere new, but my old nail guy was booked and too far away for me to keep going to him. This place was very friendly, and I had Cathy… she did a great job. She put a new set on me and took my old set off age was very gentle and they look great. She was super sweet, I’ll be back again.

$ 26 for a quick spa (massage chair with bubbles + lotion massage) mani/​pedi is not bad for Irvine! One lady works on the hands, another works on the feet. I asked for flower designs with rhinestones to be added and it was $ 5 additional. They did a great job!
They had a lot of other customers come in and out and they knew their names and gave hugs. It was nice to see the loyalty and warmth. The business card they gave said Blissful Nails — I assume that was the old name?
The location is ideal — stop by Layer Cake a few doors down and treat yourself to French macaron cookies! Fancy and lady like!

Overall, it was a good experience.
The place itself is pretty small and dingy. They have a small waiting area, about 5 nail stations, and about 4 spa chairs. When I walked in the door, I was immediately greeted. I asked how long I would have to wait for a manicure – I was told that I could be serviced immediately.
They had pretty extensive collection of nail polish, including OPI and essie, and some other brands I didn’t recognize. I was debating over a dark purple OPI polish and a bright, ocean blue essie polish, but opted for the OPI. Since the polish was stored by the waiting area, and the place was small, I was pretty much bumping into whoever was sitting down in that area.
I had Kathy, who was very sweet and nice. She did a very thorough job on my cuticles, and shaping and filing my nails. That process alone took about 15 minutes. Then there was the hand massage, which was very relaxing and thorough. The problem was in the polish application. Simply put, I would say that she lacks finesse. There were some missed spots on the edges, some polish was left on the surrounding skin, and some areas were lighter than others (probably wouldn’t have been as noticeable in a lighter color polish though).
They also didn’t have a drying station like some other salons do. There was basically a fan at each nail station, where you put your nails in front of to dry. But, for $ 12 (plus tip), I’m not complaining.
One thing I would note, though, is that its not really clear how they sanitize their tools. Kathy pulled out the cuticle cutter and metal file from a plastic box in her station – no barbicide, nothing. But I did see her go to the back after my manicure was finished with her tools, and then bring them back to the station to put back in the box. What goes on in the back, I can’t be sure. It would have been nice to actually see how the tools are sanitized. I went home and put tea tree oil on my cuticles, and anti-​fungal lotion on my hands, just in case. But this is not to say that they don’t sanitize their tools – just that it is not clear how they sanitize their tools.

Unilocaled this place and I was happily surprised.
I had Helen and she was very thorough though dug in too deep a few times. She did give me an awesome foot/​calf massage!
Good value @ $ 17 for a pedi.
50 cent surcharge for using a credit card.
Rounding up to 4 stars because my toes still look fab and its been over a week!

Came in for a mani-​pedi today. I had an appointment but i brought my sister and they were able to accommodate her as a walk-​in.
They did an alright job, i got the french tips and theyre not really that well done, but i have had worse. It wasnt overpriced either, especially for irvine, $ 12 manicure + like $ 2 for the french manicure. and $ 17 for the pedicure. They did try to up-​sell us on everything in the book though. They also hand you a menu with all the manicures on it except the basic one, so all you see as the cheap one is the $ 30 deluxe. just ask for the basic, it’s available just not listed.
They only did one coat of color on my toes and its a really light iridescent pink so it doesn’t quite show up as well as it could. Could really have used a second coat. The french manicure was alright but she didnt come all the way to the edges of the nail with the white top, so it just stops a bit abruptly on the edges. Its not gonna look good when they grow out, and thats probably where they will start chipping. but for right now it does look good, just not close up. I pointed out the first finger i noticed that wasnt that great and they did a fix on the fly with a tiny brush and they went outside the line down and left a streak and didnt fix it and still didnt even come all the way to the edge. i just didnt mention the rest. –_​–
overall, not really that impressed, I think i’ll keep looking for a place in irvine to get my nails done.

I saw all the good reviews for this place, so I decided to try it out.
Had the WORST manicure and pedicure. The place is tiny and cramped. The massage chairs are horrible compared to other places. My feet were dipped in the scalding hot tub for almost 5 minutes. There is paint all over my toes and no top coat at all. The manicurist barely filed my nails. She asked if I wanted it round or square, and I told her round. Half are round and half are square, but all crocked. I got a black french manicure and there is black all over my fingers now. There is also a hair painted into my index finger. Once I went out into the sunlight, I noticed that the color is clearly blue. All the girls there didn’t even try to make conversation with me and just all yelled across the room to talk to another girl that was an obvious regular who spoke the same language.
The ONLY positive thing I have to say is that the massage was pretty good.

Great nails place! Went in today for a spa pedicure, and it was packed. I didn’t have an appointment, but luckily, I got a spot in 5 minutes! Once I sat down, I was given a price card with all the pedicure prices. Wow !!! I guess I haven’t been back since Dec 2009, and prices have gone up. The cheapest service is $ 30.50 and that’s the one I got.
I do have to say that Arlene takes her time. This isn’t like Happy Nails where they just do what THEY want and slap on some polish and you’re out in 20 minutes and the polish chips the next day.
About 50 minutes later, she was done, and I have beautiful toes again. Another thing I love is they carry OPI nail polish (and they have my fav color — Dear Santa ! Please don’t use up my fav polish ~~~~)
So the final total was $ 35.00 with tip. I understand that they have to make a living too, and being at a higher price point, they take their time to do the job right and they are nice to boot.
However my wallet is mainly paying mortgage, taxes, insurances …
hopefully my wallet gets bigger soon :-)
then I can come more often :-)

I love this place. I’m not one to pamper myself like every other OC girl at Happy Nails or Star Nails Spa. I’ve come here even before they called themselves Rendezvous Nails with my mom and grandma back in middle school. Now I’m almost done with college and I love still love going to this place.
If you look past the cheap budgeted décor (which is really secondary to the service you are there to get) Stacey and some of the other gals do a fantastic job! They’re catering to your needs and their prices are cheap (compared to others in close proximity).
I get the full mani/​pedi every now and then ($ 21 for non-​spa, $ 25 for spa, CHEAP!). But I usually go in for your basic color change ($ 5 for hands, $ 6 for feet). Now where else can you go and spend $ 14 including tip to get your nails did?! That’s what I thought!
Oh, and I don’t remember ever making an appointment (after the 100s of times I’ve been there), I walk in and they greet me with a friendly smile and I get what i want :-)
… FYI do NOT use up my favorite polish (Heartless Affair by Lendi)! Consider this a threat ;-)
