I have purchased the groupon for this hairsalon and called for an appointment, Rebecca told me that she will call me again in a five minutes and never called me back again. Another day my husband tryed to reach her for my appointment and mentioned my groupon, she told him the same thing as me, and never called back! I was so frustrated and canceled my purchase. You can not even make an apointment in this salon! If you advertise your business on groupon than you should be professional! I have purchased the groupon at Codyrose Salon and have got great haircut anyway!

I purchased a Groupon for cut and hair treatment and my experience with Rebecca was really good and professional. The day before my appointment she sent me precise direction to find the store and the parking is very convenient. For the cut she asked me different questions to understand how I wanted my hair to look like and she completely understood what I was looking for. I was very satisfied with it and the styling was very nice too. I have already booked an appointment for highlights. Very recommended.

I went in to see Rebecca for a deep conditioning, hair cut, blow dry and style. I let her know I needed to drop off both of my children at school before my appointment. She offered to come in at 9:00 am. When I arrived she gave me a deep conditioning treatment and asked if I had any cut in mind. I was very out of touch with the latest hairstyles so I asked her to do what she felt would work best for me, and I so happy I did! She gave me a sassy style that is so easy to maintain. A busy mother’s dream! I have had several compliments on my hair in the past 2 days. Two days after going in I had an early morning meeting at my daughter’s school. All I did was brush my hair and apply a bit of hair spray and it looked great! I could not believe it! No flat iron, hot curlers, or any styling tools needed. Just a brush. If you are due for visit to a hair salon you need to let Rebecca work her magic on you. She is simply wonderful!

I liked my haircut, and my wife approved. I’d go back.

i bought a groupon for rebecca a few months back when i found out my stylist was leaving the area and i’m so glad i did! i’ve been on a time crunch to find a «wedding hair» look and her client’s Unilocal photo was exactly the hair i’ve been wanting to try out.
i bought the ombré/​full color package (see bonus tip below) and scheduled an appointment a week and a half earlier via text msg. she responds within an hour or two — just make sure you include your requested dates (plus a second and a possible third option). she will do her best to accommodate you asap.
I had my appointment on a Tuesday night after work — definitely eat either a big/​late lunch or bring a snack bc coloring takes time (my appt took about 4 – 5 hrs — but a lot faster than my last colorist who took about 6 – 7.5 hrs). i have super thick, healthy, long asian hair and completely understand the amount of time it takes to lighten it. she offers wine or a beverage if you just need something to sip and pass the time.
as a side note, i’ve been charged an additional $ 90+ for color correction and due to my length of hair (easily 3 – 4 inches past my shoulders) in addition to a groupon purchase from past stylists and felt super cheated. NOT here!!! rebecca doesnt do that, and doesnt treat groupon users differently from regular clients!!!
also, love that she does her best and goes above and beyond — it was past 10pm and offered to walk with me to pay for the additional charge over my already-​validated parking ticket.

I just moved to Newport Beach a few months ago and didn’t know any good stylists I could trust. After reading a few reviews from Unilocal,I was super worried I made a horrible mistake of buying my Groupon with Rebecca. I don’t know why some Unilocalers are leaving terrible reviews, Rebecca is one of the most professional stylists I’ve seen!
One of the great things about Rebecca is her thorough communication skills. I received a text from her that morning that she was running a few minutes late. I didn’t mind the minor hiccup, but was impressed that she didn’t want to waste my precious time. She also sent me clear directions to the salon the night before (I needed it because my GPS wanted to take me elsewhere). The salon is in a large high rise building, so it is difficult to find. Once I arrived at the salon, I was greeted right away by the front desk guy. He’s super nice and he’ll validate your parking pass for you. I didn’t have to sit around the lobby and was helped by Rebecca right away. The salon is gorgeous, hip, and clean.
I’ve been to a few different stylists around the San Diego and Riverside counties, and my god, they are freakin annoying, nosy, and always complain about how much hair I have. So, as a result, I was not looking forward to the forced conversation with a stranger that was going to cut my hair. Thank goodness Rebecca didn’t turn out to be like those fools. Rebecca has a gregarious and down-​to-​earth personality; it felt like I’ve known her for years. I felt pretty comfortable with her and let her work her magic.
My Groupon included a haircut, conditioning treatment, and style. The results from Rebecca were amazing. My hair smells phenomenal, is 1000x softer/​shinier, and the cut/​style looks beautiful. Can’t believe I paid only $ 35 for this 5 star experience. I’ll be stopping by in a few weeks to get a balayage color treatment… cannot wait to see what that masterpiece will look like! Thank you for being a doll, Rebecca! You are wonderful. :)

I had a Groupon for Rebecca Roberts. I was happy with my hair coloring and cut, however I find it very disrespectful when people who take appointments double book. When I arrived it was obvious that the lady sitting next to me was also waiting for Rebecca in the same time slot. First 3 different people asked if they could help me. I told them I was there to see Rebecca and they all said they would get her and yet it took her 10 – 15 min to come get both of us. She explained that she would color the other lady first, then while her hair was processing work on me. It would have been quite easy for her to book us ½ hour apart but she chose not to. Then she offered me a cup of coffee. She came back and said someone her assistant had to make it. Later she said it was coming. It must have been15−20 min. before I got that cup of coffee. She was personable enough but I think she must have sensed that I was irritated in being kept waiting because she had double booked. She apologized after washing out my color and then turned me over to another stylist to blow dry my hair. I appreciated getting out of there earlier, however I felt like I was getting dismissed. Even so, I still left there much later than I had anticipated and had to rearrange my schedule for the rest of the day.
The salon is quite stylish and very large. Her very detailed text explaining how to find the building from the parking lot was very helpful because it’s really confusing in that office complex. My expectations of stylists and massage therapists around here is pretty low as I have discovered a lot of them are thoughtless flakes who show up late or cancel/​reschedule you at the last minute. This wasn’t quite my experience, but when I think about how much more I pay them per hour than I make it’s pretty depressing to be treated as if my time is not important.

I got a Groupon for the face-​framing ombré and full color a few months back and finally decided to come in today.
I came in kind of confused as this was my first hair dying experience, but Rebecca sat me down and we talked about my hair and what style was reasonable for it. We were able to decide on a style that was a bit different from the one listed on my Groupon, but around the same value so I didn’t have to pay any extra. She was very considerate yet also straight to the point and efficient at getting the work done through the whole process. The end color wasn’t as dramatic as I imagined, but then again I didn’t know exactly what I wanted in the first place.
I know there’s mixed reviews on this page, but I feel that — at least from my experience — if you’re reasonable and respectful, Rebecca will deliver good results in return.

I bought a Groupon for Rebecca Roberts one time, and I will never make that mistake again. Not only did she charge me a lot extra (because her Groupon only covers the very tip of your roots), she also made me sit in the chair all day because she works on multiple people at the same time. The end result was terrible. The color was much darker than I had requested and the cut was an absolute disaster! I actually had people ask me, «What on earth did you do to your hair?» Never again!

Been to her once, won’t go again. She may be a fine stylist but her brash comments and aloof attitude made me wish I hadn’t gone. She actually told me that my voice message was «long winded». We are not old friends who go way back. That type of comment would be acceptable then but not with a new client on a first visit! Also, she told me that my hair was «frizzy» when I can’t even get it to hold a curl! My suggestion if you’re planning a visit: have at least two glasses of wine beforehand so that you can tolerate her tude and condescension.

Love how Rebecca does my Ombré! Looks fabulous for months! She considers what I am looking for and my lifestyle to maintain it!

I was new in town and found Rebecca on groupon. She does a fabulous job and has become a friend! The salon is beautiful and classy. I highly recommend!

I have not had the best of luck when it comes to finding a quality hairdresser the past few years. This all changed, however, once I found Rebecca. I called her last minute to see if she could squeeze me in before Thanksgiving which was two days away, and she did. I had a Groupon for a great deal on a cut and ombré color. I really appreciated that she cared about finding the best color for my skin tone. She recommended something I would not have considered and it turned out beautifully! I loved the ombré highlights and the cute new cut. Definitely one of my favorite styles of all time! I have since gone back to see her and intend on keeping her as my go-​to stylist. I highly recommend Rebecca to all those like me who were aimlessly and disappointingly wandering from stylist to stylist in search of The One.

Rebecca is really a gem, she’s super talented and gave me a great cut with perfect layers. My hair is baby fine so she washed it, dried it and then cut it. I love the results.
She asked me what I wanted & I asked her for some suggestions (She’s the pro right)? I let her do what she wanted and the results are perfect.

Still amazing! Came back to Rebecca 2 months after my first appointment for a root touch-​up and toner on my ombré before my engagement photos. The color turned out great and ombré looks so much better. I can’t tell you enough how much I love my color! Check pics for reference…

I visited Rebecca because of a groupon and I honestly couldn’t have been happier. She did a wonderful wonderful haircut– treated me with kindness and interest even though I was a coupon customer, and my hair looks gorgeous. I really couldn’t be happier and I am hoping to return to her in the future.
The haircut I picked was not the easiest and she approached it with such ease and grace. I couldn’t be happier.

Worst hair experience of my life. I wish I could give her zero stars.
I have never left a Unilocal review before, but I felt compelled to write this one.
Rebecca squeezed me in a few month ago on short notice, for which I was excited because I had extremely grown out roots. When I get there, Rebecca proceeds to patronize me the second I sit down and tells me that because I’m young, I don’t know what I’m talking about and the services I requested over text weren’t the same as what I was asking for there. Okay, maybe there was some miscommunication and we didn’t understand each other, that’s fine. She didn’t need to talk down to me, because that was flat out rude.
Since it was «my fault» that I didn’t know what services I was asking for, she makes me wait while she runs around and works on 5 other girls that all come in and out before I’m even half way done. I was there for over 5 hours. I’m a law student and my time is precious. If I had known that I’d be there that long and insulted, I would have never made the appointment with her in the first place.
When she finished my hair, it was awful. My highlights were too chunky and my hair was a horribly brassy. I was tired and upset and proceeded to cry because my hair looked so horrible! She told me it was fine and that I just needed some sleep because I was obviously just stressed.
Rebecca is rude, demeaning, patronizing, and terrible at doing hair. She was more interested in making money off me than actually listening to what I wanted. I paid someone else to fix it.

This is a very tough review to leave. I waited a while after seeing Rebecca before posting this. I have very short (a little longer than Pixie length, or was) hair and always try to keep it in good shape because it is super fine. Super fine like it can look thin (old lady thin) very quickly if not well-​maintained. I have been in California for way too long and needed a quick touchup to clean up the back and the bangs.
Rebecca was recommended by a friend.
She was very quick to reply via text message and to help me find the place. By the way, it’s across from the FDA building if you get lost too. My two stars are for her help and quick scheduling. She is also a nice person to talk with, and we shared a couple of quick stories. She is personable. I liked her.
I had an immediate «oh no» reaction when I saw the razor come out. I’ve had a lot of stylists working my hair over the years because of work in television. I inquired about the razor and Rebecca said it would add texture and some volume to my hair. I was pretty clear that I did not want my pixie to turn into a very (overly) boyish cut. That I wanted the bangs not so shaggy and the back cleaned up. I showed photos. We had a nice conversation while she was «razoring» my hair. My entire head. I tried to stay calm. That wasn’t really the plan to begin with, but I’ve had short hair for a long time so I’m kind of used to it.
I became very concerned when I noticed a large piece of hair (probably 3 inches — keep in mind my hair was only 4 inches when I walked in so we are not talking about long hair that had a minor 3 inches removed) fall onto my lap. I looked up and realized that my bangs had the razor to them.
At this point, I was just hoping for the best. After a very quick wash, she tried to even out some sections. When I looked in the mirror at their place, it didn’t look bad but was definitely much different than I had intended or communicated. I did not intend to lose my bangs! On one side, my bangs measure ½ inch! Half an inch.
When I got in the car, I freaked out. I looked closely and realized that just as I had been warned by so many people, my razored bangs had become wispy lifeless completely sheared nothingness. The front of my hair looked as though I aged 60 years. You cannot take a razor to very fine hair and have it looking textured, it just looks thin and has no structure. Well maybe someone can, but she cannot.
This is honestly the worst I have felt about my hair in several years. I have tried to avoid mirrors and have been wearing headbands ever since. Not so easy to do on television and meeting people.
I posted photos and comments on my private Facebook wall where several stylists are friends. The consensus was unanimous. What the hell. Even people trying to make me feel better had to just say «well in a few months maybe it won’t look shredded.» Quite a few people asked me if I was going into the military as a joke. One of my friends who is a stylist in California suggested that I stop by and let him remove some of the wispy sections by creating some bluntness, but reminded me I would probably lose the ½″ or so that is left in the bangs. I did it anyway to try to have some structure back and colored it black instead of the platinum I was going for just to try to «cover up the mess» for several months. He also found dozens of hairs that were their 4″ length amidst the now 1″ hairs. Lack of attention to detail? Poor lighting? What?!
My stylist friends tried to joke that this set me back easily eight months in hairstyles. I have to wait the normal grow out time, and on top of that, all of the damage that she did has to be cut off, easily adding a couple more months.
I think Rebecca may be quite skilled at styling some hair types from photos I now see, but does not quite know how to work with baby fine hair and pixie styles — at least not with my hair. We all know how much our hair is part of our identity. When you have very very short hair, and it goes military style, it’s tough. I can’t speak for a long-​haired client, but I would never send any of my friends who have fine hair or short hair here.
Rebecca said I can «pull it off». Just because a client can pull something off, doesn’t mean that is what they wanted or it looks best on them. Even an 11 year old said «wouldn’t razoring fine hair screw it up?» Uhm yeah. My hair was left shredded to pieces throughout the entire head.

Came in last night for a 6:45pm appointment. The salon closes at eight and I didn’t leave until midnight.
That should say enough already. Rebecca is caring and very thoughtful when you trust her with your hair. She takes her time and never makes you feel rushed even when she has someone else waiting on her. It’s worth it! I absolutely adore my new cut and color. We took a good amount of time talking about what color to do and her choice suits my complexion so much more than my previous color. My cut is so cute and eat to maintain.
There us no added pressure of judgment of being in this really nice salon and I don’t know how else to say book with Rebecca you will be very happy you did.

All her 5-​star reviews aren’t full of hot air — this classy stylist/​colorist knows good hair!
Cheesy rhymes aside, Ms. Rebecca Roberts deserves endless accolades and much more than my measly $ 20 tip for miraculously transforming my shaggy, Japanese horror movie hair into lovely, long layered locks with soft mocha ombré highlights. I can’t stress enough how dedicated she is to making her clients happy. She spent enough hours to be considered a full work shift to re-​tone and re-​condition my stubborn Asian hair just how I wanted it. That was in addition to the 12-​hour workday she already had, and I was a Groupon customer. If the Catholic Church ever started canonizing colorists, her name would surely be among the first nominated.
Rebecca works her magic at the Tease It Studio Salon, nestled on the third floor of the swankily corporate Newport Gateway Building. The spacious salon offers a rainbow assortment of refreshments (wine, beer, coffee, tea, etc.) and curtained dressing rooms for guests to change into protective gowns.
