Planet Beach Tanning Spa

Dude wtf… I went to go make use of my $ 80/​month tanning package today. Apparently they are being evicted. WTF. I JUST paid for another month, this is so lame. I was talking to the guy who owns the place the other day. Apparently he owns nine locations, he said they are everywhere when i told him i was planning to move. The next closest one to me is 23 miles away!!! OMG. I’m annoyed. Let me just say… if your getting evicted YOU KNOW. There are warnings and letters and people who are mad at you for MONTHS prior. It really sucks to see yet another business crumble in this economy but come on, if you already know your going down why take everyone with you? That’s messed up. I guess with business and management skills such as those portrayed by the former mentioned, there is no doubt why this business went… out of business… grrr

I unfortunately did not have a good experience here at all. When I lived in Norcal I had a full on unlimited membership where I paid $ 99/​month to take advantage of their full services. I really appreciated the customer service and cleanliness I received up there as well.
Up in Norcal when I first discovered them and signed up, I loved the fact that they had a full spa experience with Massage machine, skin hydration machine, great spray tan booths, and amazing customer service.
I was appalled at the condition this Planet Beach was in when I came here. I kept my membership for about a month giving them a shot down here, then cancelled. When I heard they had new ownership and they were offering a month unlimited deal I decided to see if the Spa changed for the better since.
It didn’t and the new ownership that has been here a year already apparently doesn’t pay attention to even the smallest details which would have made a difference:
1) The place smells like sewer and is dirty.
2) There was no hand soap in the bathroom the first two times I showed up there.
3) The bathroom was incredibly dirty and the toilet paper holder is broken and wasn’t fixed the entire time i was there. (lack of attention to detail)
4) broken/​old equipment that they don’t fix.
–No music in hydration station, it doesn’t work well either.
–The Massage Machine is old and dirty. The headphones need to be replaced.
–The door locks for the rooms are horrible
–Trash cans are dirty without liners. Toilets are disgusting. This is supposed to be a Tanning «Spa». Floors are nasty. Dust everywhere.
5) First day their Credit machine didn’t work, and their spray booth didn’t work.
6) The only redeeming and bed I truly liked at this place has apparently been broken since ownership took over last January 2011. I cannot believe they think they can win business with broken unusable beds. I couldn’t even use the only other high pressure bed most of the time because there was always someone in there.
7) Service is horrible. I was forgotten about and after undressing had to redress and ask them to please set my bed. They were always on the computer social networking or talking to friends.
8) Everytime I called to attempt to make an appointment they didn’t answer. Then when I arrived they would tell me the bed was reserved for an appointment that was coming in. But then when I would ask what time they appt was. They would say that it was within 15 minutes. Dumb that they wouldn’t be efficient enough to just put a client through and get an exact time of appointment.
9) The best bed is broken and has been apparently since January 2011 when the new owner took over. Fix it or replace it already!
10) They are closed Sundays.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. Wouldn’t go even if it was free. Wouldn’t waste my time and my time is more valuable.

Okay so Ive been a member here for YEARS…
The girls are GREAT Here… sooo friendly and i typically become friends with most if not all of them… great personalities. and they always know who i am when i get there which is great.
They have had 3 different owners since I’ve been a member and they have all SUCKED.
Some of the beds are broken sometimes. Bed 1 has been seriously broken for over 5 months now. maybe even a year. the PHYSICAL bed is broken in more than one area and they still have people Tan in it.
The Mystic was broken for a long time. the Door on it… which was annoying… Now Their top bed is broken and has been… and they have been waiting for a part.
They haven’t had a new shipment of lotions or hair nets. for over a month now…
The owner doesn’t even live here and doesn’t even seem to care.
The girls finally took it on to themselves and went to Sallys and bought hair nets and stuff themselves. poor girls.
The Franchise or Corp needs to step it up…
Also they have had new beds on order for months now too… umm where are those?
If it weren’t for the girls being so nice I would have canceled a long time ago.
