Pedego Irvine

What a fantastic GEM in the middle of Irvine. Off the beaten trail is a wonderful electric bike rental locally owned by a biking enthusiast. With the detailed mapping in the shop, you can ride to the beach or the mountains. The batteries seem to last forever. Your bum will expire before the battery! This is a must for any age. What a fantastic way to see Irvine! (No traffic). Pedal a lot, or just a little, it’s perfect for most everyone! Looking forward to one day purchasing one of these fantastic bikes!

I came from out of state to visit some friends, and we rented four electric bikes to tour Irvine. Bob was super personable and helpful; he recommended a couple of different routes for us and gave us a map so we wouldn’t get lost. The bikes were in great shape, and we had no problems with them at all. They also came with saddlebags to hold your stuff, which I thought was nice. This was my favorite activity I did while I was in California, and the fact that you can alternate between pedaling and coasting with the motor makes these bikes accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. I highly recommend visiting Pedego to anyone looking for a fun way to sightsee or just spend a couple hours!

The bikes were awesome! Great quality, didn’t run out of juice (aka battery). It was a lot of fun biking through Irvine. Bob, the owner, helped us and he was very kind, polite, funny, personable, patient, and accommodating. He showed us on the map different routes we could take and checked up on us when we came back. Great experience, would highly recommend!

I was out on a run a few Sunday’s ago and decided to stop by the Barnes and Noble in the Woodbridge plaza before making it back home. All of a sudden it started to DOWNPOUR in Irvine! Deciding between calling an über or running back in the rain – with a water-​damaged phone, I went into Pedego to see if they sold ponchos (I know silly thought). Unsurprisingly, they do not sell ponchos BUT the owner was kind enough to go to the back of the store and bring out an old umbrella for me to use. I couldn’t stop thanking him and let him know I’d bring it back the next day. He said no, just pay it forward and leave it for someone else in need to use. While it’s not raining today, I hope the umbrella provides someone shelter from the scorching hot sun! THANK YOU Pedego Irvine for your unbelievable kindness. I will come back to try the bikes! ;)

Buying your Pedego Bike at Pedego Irvine makes a difference! Bob’s passion for his bikes and his customers drives his business. My wife and I bought two bikes from him about a year ago, and he has always helped me out with various repairs. He even cleaned my bike for me when I brought it to him for a simple service.
He cares about his customers, and that’s what matters to me. He is always up-​front, honest, and passionate. I couldn’t be happier with my bike. He is always willing to go the extra mile for his customers, so if you’re in the market for a Pedego bike, which is absolutely fantastic, by the way, you need to go see Bob.
I even hear that he is selling used bikes. This is perfect for entry-​level riders who don’t want to buy the bikes at full price.

Great Product, Wonderful Dealer!
The Pedego bike is just amazing. I have the Boomerang model with the biggest battery available, so I go for 40 to 50 miles with battery power to spare. Bob, the owner of Pedego Irvine, really takes great care of his customers. I stop in the store just to say hi and chat with Bob. I leave my bike with him when it needs servicing and come back in a few hours and pick it up.
This bike has changed my life. I go everywhere on the bike, and my car leaves the garage only every 2 or 3 days now. Electric bikes allows the rider to zoom up hills and cross intersections quickly and safely.
There are many electric bikes out there and Pedego has to be at or near the top. The main reason I chose Pedego was the friendly & helpful atmosphere in the Irvine shop.

These bikes are AWESOME. I have had my city commuter for about 15 months and I have faithfully ridden about 4 times a week since i purchased it. I live in Orange and frequently ride down the beach and join my husband there. At times I also take the bike trail out into Riverside. When I went to the doctor, I was taken off cholesterol medicine! What is glorious is that riding this is not a burden. It is a joy to ride. It is like a blend of a motorcycle and a bike. I pedal the whole time, and since I keep the gear high, my legs have gotten quite strong. I am way more fit than I was.
Because I have the option to really book, I don’t dread heading out and just tooling along. I can actually get somewhere. Some people just don’t get it. They think that if you have an electric bike you are not exercising. That has not been my experience at all. I just go further for the same amount of effort. Instead of judging how many miles I have gone, I focus on how long I was out there pumping rather than how many miles I ride.
With this bike, errands become a pleasure and I can go ahead and head out even if I am tired. When my hyperfit sister wants me to ride, I don’t have to debate it: I have the option to rely on the motor. What happens is that since I don’t dread it, I get out there, and as I feel the sunshine and the wind etc. I just keep riding. I recently purchased a good, light hybrid and have taken it on a some fairly long rides. If I am by myself, I always choose the Pedego. One bike is just exercise, and obviously exercise. The other, my Pedego, is a delight.
Since I regularly go much farther with the Pedego, I am far more likely to choose it. I can head anywhere in Orange County with relative ease. I’ve been to La Habra, Stanton, Huntington Beach etc. I don’t want to take the same little loop again and again; nor do I want to be one of those bikers who seem to be about fitness and that’s it: they ride bent over with their eyes glued to the path. I get the best of both worlds. I go the distance of those spandex clad bikers, but I get to see the world, and more of it like the neighborhood biker. Anyhow, if you have a chance, go test drive one. It is fun and freeing. Bob is terrific. He stands behind his product and has helped me with a few quirky problems that have arisen. He is a «regular guy» and easy to talk to. Not only does he know his product, he treats his customers with respect. If I could give this business six stars, I would.

I have two of these bikes on older model and a 2013. great rides and good service when ever needed if needed.

Soo much fun! Rented a bike for $ 14/​hour which is a deal! Took my dog, and they gave me a bike with a basket for her to sit in. She was scared because I went pretty fast. I honestly didn’t use the bike for exercise. The trails right out the back of the store is what sold me on going specifically to Pedego Irvine. I knew there wouldn’t be much traffic and I would be able to use the electric assist as I please. I would definitely recommend renting one of these bikes from this particular location! I can’t wait to go back! :)

I LOVE MY BIKE!!! I’ve never loved a bike before, but I absolutely love my Pedego City Commuter!
I ride it to work every day. I ride it to do errands. I ride it for fun. I ride it everywhere I can. My car sits in the garage and I just smile as I pass by gas stations on my electric bike.
This bike has changed my life. I know that sounds like a stretch, but it’s true.
I was pretty sedentary and even with a full gym membership, I never really got much exercise. Now I realize that’s because it wasn’t fun.
Riding this electric bike is just… so. much. fun! I get exercise all the time now because I look for reasons to go riding now.
A special word about the guys at Pedego Irvine in particular: THEY ROCK!!! Shane and Bob are such nice guys. They have gone out of their way on several occasions to help me with my purchase. I am so glad I bought my City Commuter from them.
Right from the beginning, they helped me select just the right model, and they let me test ride several before I made a decision.
After my purchase, they assembled the bike for me and helped me load it into my SUV since I didn’t even own a bike rack at that point.
When I had a weird mechanical issue with the bike, they solved the issue right away. No hassles, just easy breezy.
I even bought my Thule bike rack for my car from Pedego Irvine. Once again, the guys went above and beyond to help me with selection and outstanding service.
This is, by far, THE BEST customer service I have EVER received from any company.

If you have never tried an electric bike before, just drop by their store. They will let you take a test ride for free. You won’t believe how much fun these bikes are!

The thing that is really nice about this place is its located on the bike trail, very convenient. Bob is very knowledgable and set us up with an attachment so my 6 year old could ride with me. It’s a great way to spend the afternoon, pack a lunch with some drinks and you will really enjoy yourself.

This is the best purchase I have made this far in my two decades on planet earth-​not kidding. I bought a trade in black comfort cruiser with whitewall tires and it MAKES ME FEEl SO COOL AND FREE! I am a student and I work part time and this bike gets me everywhere I need to go-​no gas bills and no hassles. I recommend one of these for free spirits, for people who don’t want to deal with drive through care ashes, and people who like being alive. :)

Don’t ride one of these bikes unless you want to smile from ear to ear. They are fun!
I’m so glad I found this place! I’ll be stopping here first for my other bike supplies too — cleaners, tubes, lubricants and accessories — it looked well stocked. I don’t usually write reviews, but the folks here were incredibly knowledgeable, unbelievably helpful and very kind.
In addition to the very fun electric bikes that they sell and rent, I also saw mountain bikes. I’m remembering this place when I need an adventure date idea — grab a bike and ride around! Thanks!

Bob, the owner, was fantastic — he set us up with two bikes and a trailer for towing two kids.
The bikes themselves are great. You can peddle as much or as little if you want — there’s plenty of juice. We took the bikes from the shop in the middle of Woodbridge all the way down to Jamboree at the opening of the Back Bay, and there was enough power to get us there and back.
Definitely will do this again. It’s great to tell people you went for a long bike ride (you know it’s Irvine, so you’re expected to be active) but no one knows you cheated!

These bikes are super comfortable and easy to ride. My wife and I rented some and took a ride down to Newport back bay… what a blast! We really liked the pedal assist feature, so we could get some exercise, but also a little electric help along the way. Good bike trail advice from the shop too. I’m putting one of these bikes on my wish list.

These are high quality electric bikes for rental and for sale. Rental is around $ 14 per hour or $ 50 for all day. These go around 20mph.
The shop is located right on all the best bike trails and can easily explore Woodbridge, Newport Beach Backbay, Balboa, UCI campus and more. This is a great meetup spot for your bike group as it is centrally located.

Seriously, Irvine has to be the most bike friendly city in California, so we were sold on e-​bikes, but we were looking for a local place that would service and support our purchase — one with a staff who knew the area and could suggest rides and maybe build a local community of e-​bike enthusiasts.
I did a lot of research about e-​bike technology — from battery types to tires, frames, gearing, brakes, charge times, motor watts, weight, colors, accessories, etc. — and decided that Pedego was the best for our needs. And we found that the maker was headquartered right here in Irvine and was fast becoming the defacto leader in electric bikes, so that sealed the brand for us.
The Irvine store for Pedego Electric Bikes opened in Woodbridge Villiage Center in December, 2013. I was excited since it seemed like nothing but medical offices and kids learning centers had been moving in there for at least the past 8 years. (Where did Chevy’s and Peet’s Coffee and Waters Restaurant go? @#@^#&@!!). I was really surprised when the store owner turned out to be Bob Bibee, who I’d met a couple of months back at the Irvine Farmers Market when I test drove one of his bikes.
I wanted to surprise my wife with a ‘Wow’ gift, but had no place to store the bike till Christmas. That’s when Bob offered to deliver it to our door Christmas day and that’s what ended up happening. Bob and his son Shane are quite possibly the two nicest bike people around and both were incredibly accommodating with all our many questions. I’d recommend this shop to anyone. But e-​bikes aren’t cheap, so I’d recommend renting one first.
