Metropolitan Heating and Air Conditioning

Update review because it’s June AKA triple digits and unbearable heat for some of us that are spoiled and have the AC on ²⁴⁄₇. I put in a work order through AHS and received a call the next morning from the Annabelle. She told me that they were able to send a technician out the next day. Keep in mind, it’s only June. These technicians WILL get only more busy as the heat increases (some people tend to live in a selfish bubble and think they’re the only ones that have problems with their AC units…) so it was great that they were accommodating. It was 93 degrees that day and Adam and Daniel were quick and efficient in diagnosing the problem. They even installed a new wifi thermostat for me (yay for technology). Being the daughter of a handy man who works in the unbearable sun for HOURS, I know how hard these technicians must work. It’s sad that people forget that these are people that are in the heat all day and are humans too so I offered them cold water bottles for their hard work and amazing and friendly service. They are angels in disguise. Thank you again for saving the day!
Also, I searched their reviews on the Better Business Bureau. So much more trust worthy than some of the discriminatory reviews people leave. For example, upon further conversation with the techs, I learned that they have actually been in this business for over 30 years (despite someone claiming they were «foreigners» and had «no American ethics…» whatever that means).
Life tip: I get the heat makes people angry (been there done that so I’m guilty of it too). But if you have a good attitude with the people who are servicing you and are understanding, I’ve learned that they will have an even BETTER and appreciative attitude with you as well. Amazing right!!!

I put in a request for service on Thursday evening — all I need is more refrigerant. AHS assigned me to Metropolitan Heating and Air Conditioning to service my AC unit.
I received a call from Metropolitan Heating and AC on Friday afternoon. Not only was the person who called me to set up the appointment rude and had zero customer service skills, they weren’t available for 3 days because their technicians do not work on weekends and do not work after 5pm.
With a 3 month old baby and temps in the 100s next week that’s ridiculous. Using Unilocal,I was able to find another service which was also much closer to my area, that can come out tomorrow (Saturday), with a service fee of $ 50, which would be waived if I use their service. All I need is more refrigerant. This is a much better deal than my AHS contract.

To my surprise 2 guys showed up before we could confirm the apt.
When I told them that right now is not a good due to us leaving in a few mins the older middle eastern technician «Well someone must of confirmed this apt because we don’t just make these up»
OH REALLY ASSHOLE?!
So I called my wife and asked «hey did you confirm the apt»?
My wife said «no they left a VM last night and asked me to call back. I haven’t talk to anyone because I wanted to confirm with you that it’s a good time»
Which it wasn’t.
The middle eastern tech said «so what you’re refusing our service? Ok reschedule we won’t come out for minimum 10 days on reschedules».
I’m not rescheduling we didn’t confirm.
I will be damn to let this asshole back to place. It’s not my fault your admin assistant messed up.
I’m a personal clothing stylist. I know about good service and how not to be rude to people.
Maybe the tech that showed up to my house should take a Custer service course !

Adam and David replaced my thermostat and added more freon. They were professional, pleasant and did a good job. My AC is now working really well.

This company has only 12 reviews, but probably sees 40 customers a week. It seems like people are quick to complain (and rightly so — it is frustrating) and it is more rare for someone to go out of their way to provide compliments.
My home warranty (First American) called them out Oct 2015. They were there the next day, diagnosed and repaired within an hour and provided great customer service.
I believe it is a father and son that came out to service.
I wish that home warranty companies allowed you to create a list of preferred vendors, because these are the only people that I would trust fixing my AC from now on.

Outside of the son Adam Jr, Adam Sr and his sister Annabelle seem like they are running a scam.
They give the run around, make false promises, and lied about even getting paperwork to AHS
How this company stays in business is beyond me

Outstanding service! I’ve never been more satisfied. My home warranty AHS assigned this company to my service request and 2 gentlemen (probably father and son) showed up on-​time and after a courtesy call. They were super polite and professional. Adam is a very sharp and bright young boy, he quickly identified the problem and fixed the issue. They checked the whole system to make sure everything is working fine.
Also they were very knowledgable and gave me lots of good information on how to maintain the air conditioner.
Best experience ever!

I have an American Home Shield Warranty (AHS) and had an AC problem. They sent Metropolitan out and two fellows showed up. They spent less than 5 minutes here and stated it was a fairly new unit and probably under warranty. They would have to call AHS and then advise me. I offered to pay the service charge and they said I didn’t have to because it’s still under
I received a call out of the blue from another AC company and they informed me that I was being reassigned to them. When I asked why they stated that Metropolitan called AHS and informed them I didn’t pay them for a previous service. Not true. I guess they were not interested in doing a warranty repair but slandering me is not the way to do business. When I called Metropolitan they hung up. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! They are foreigners and obviously don’t understand American ethics… and no I am not a racist.

I was assigned to this company through my home warranty. I called in the middle of a very hot August as our AC was not blowing out cold air. The first visit I was told that there most likely was a leak and he pushed something through the system to determine where that leak was and would have to come back in a week, but they were completely, completely booked. The second visit all they did was confirm the leak and said they would have to call the warranty company to see if it was covered. I was so upset because that should have been done on the first visit and I feel they were just wasting time. When questioning this, the tech just totally brushed me off. I was also told once again they are completely, completely booked. I get it, I’m sure it was a busy month for them but no exaggeration every conversation was «completely, completely booked.» Another week went by and they still hadn’t even called my warranty company yet! Every time I called I had to be called back and that didn’t always happen. It took 4 weeks to have a leak fixed! This was completely unacceptable in my opinion. That combined with just poor customer service skills left me not wanting to business with them again.

This company is great! From the receptionist to the workers who came to my house, everyone was so nice and helpful. My heater was broken and they fixed it in 10min. Would definitely recommend them!

The Father and Son both showed up two days after my call and after I told them my problem about possibly a clogged condenser they immediately opened up the unit and repaired my unit within 20 mins the quickest air conditioner repair I have ever had since I have owned my place in 7 years. I have had my air conditioner repaired 4 other times and nobody has ever been so fast and knowledgable ever .
Then they added freon so in and out all in 30 mins who could ask for quicker better service, not me.
I couldn’t be happier as I spent the last couple of days in 85 degree nights so thank you to both of you gentlemen for the OUTSTANDING JOB YOU DID !

I would give 6 stars if I could! My A/​C hasn’t been turning on, so I decided to give this company a call after a quick search on Unilocal.The repair man came to my house and immediately told me that only problem was the thermostat battery was dead. Not only did he replace the batteries, but he direct wired the thermostat so that it uses outlet power so I never will need batteries anymore. From past experiences with other companies I was waiting for the tech to give me a list of problems wrong with the A/​C. Took him 10 minutes! How much did he charge? Absolutely nothing! Such an honest kind guy! Definitely will be calling them if anything else arises!

Nas is amazing, thank you for your prompt service. He was able to diagnose the problem immediately after arriving to my home. I have been with AHS for over 8 years and have had 2 other companies out to my home. Nas is honest, direct, and by far the most respectfulI tech I have had. I would recommend Metropolitan Heating and Air to all my friends. I will certainly request them for my future needs as well. I guarantee anyone using them will have a great experience.

We had the AC unit of our rental condo go out. We filed a claim with our Home Warranty company, who assigned it to Metropolitan Heating and Air. I had to call them 3 times to get an appointment. Once they showed up they quickly said it was the Freon, next it was the pipe locks, next it was the compressor… they seemed to have very little clue of what was going on. When they thought it was the Freon, they wanted to charge $ 45 per pound… nonnegotiable! You can buy 25 pounds for $ 275 and most AC companies charge $ 30. The process of getting an appointment, their diagnostics, and their pricing leads me to never want to use them again.

I am so happy. I have been dying for a couple of weeks due to my A/​C being out and hoping that my regular guy would be available through American Home Shield. I finally gave up and after some research settled on this company. He only had one 5 star review but that was better than all the negative reviews of the other guys they wanted to send out. GOOD DECISION!
Nas was well mannered, well spoken, respectful and knew his stuff. I described what the problem was and he had it diagnosed in 5 minutes as a blown capacitor. He checked the freon (old unit) and it was still sealed so none was needed. It was up and running and now I am cooling off.

I called Metropolitan just yesterday at around 7PM. I got a call immediately the next morning at 8:15 and they were ready to come in and service my heater that had stopped working. They gave me a 2 hour window to come out which was great and I even asked for a call 20 minutes before they came out since i worked near by. They called me and I was greeted by a very nice and professional looking service man. I told the tech my issue and before I knew it the issue was fixed and my unit was up and running. Even though my unit was over 20 years old it was fixed unlike another company that came out and told me it HAD to be replaced. I would highly recommend Metropolitan Heating and Air to anyone! Great and professional service. They even guarantee their work and their prices. Nothing beats a price guarantee! Thank you Metropolitan Heating and Air!
