Irvine Unified School District

Very well fundended school district full with bitches and asholes. They dont give a shit about anything.

I usually don’t complain about any businesses/​services here but I gotta say the IUSD left me no choice. I can’t speak for everyone but I have been inside the building few times and the receptionist are just so rude and incompetent. They cost me half a grand scholarship money because I handed them the form that I should have handed to someone else. Thank you so much. My 11 year old brother can do a better job than them.

Worst Public School District I have ever communicated with. Recently I had my son transfer to Irvine School District. He is in middle school, when we moved to Irvine we looked at houses all around. Once we picked our home we were set school across the street 5 minutes from work all is good. Then BOOM we called the school across the street get the information on enrollment. First of all Plaza Vista Rudest un– professional people working in the office.
Long Story Short instead of going to school across the street. My Son has to go to another school almost 2 miles away crossing one of the busiest streets in Irvine. He walk or rides his bike to school. Even the kids he goes to school with break off halfway to go to there homes. I just think its absolutely ridiculous. I called the district did all I can do, They said even know the school is across the street and his brother goes to the elementary school He can not go to plaza vista he needs to go miles away. THINK twice or get the information needed if you have children before moving. On a good note Lakeside middle school everyone is friendly and very helpful there.

Look, here is the long of the short… people move to Irvine just so they can put their kids in the Irvine school district. Irvine is safe, clean, very family friendly and very expensive, they also have well funded schools AND this is why people pack up their lives to move here and put their kids in a great school.
With this being said, I have found that IUSD is very up tight, very snooty and most of the office staff down right useless. The staff will never listen to what you are asking or saying… they simply smile, tell you something that has nothing to do with what you’re asking them or give you some ridiculous remark that makes you want to act out like a child!
My child’s assigned high school is 6.3 miles from our home. I asked if it would be possible to transfer her to the high school that is 1.2 miles from home as she’ll have to walk to and from school because both her dad and I work before school starts or ends. I was told no. So I asked what kind of transportation the school provides for kids that live far from the school and some woman named Melinda tells me to find a neighbor to take my kid to school or see if there is another mom who can car pool because transportation has been cut due to budget cuts. I said «ma’am, it’s not an option for me to find a stranger to take my child to school. I’m sure that we’re not the only family who lives this far and needs transportation options.» Useless Melinda simply smiles and says «most of the mothers in Irvine don’t work. Also, Irvine is very safe and designed for kids to walk to and from school.» It was at this point that I wanted to act out and make a scene… but I did not.
I’ve never had so much trouble with a school district before and my daughter has gone to the Saddleback school district and Tustin school district… so far Irvine is disappointing and I find it to be completely overrated.
