Our garage door was broken and inoperable. We called Steve and left a message, he called us back in about 10 minutes and was able to be at our house in about 30 minutes. He fixed the garage (replacing the broken black coil) in about 15 minutes along with some other touch ups such as bad squeaking that had always annoyed us but we’d never gotten around to. Steve is prompt, kind and honest, to supplement his efficient service. We also had a plumbing issue that he gave us a solution for that saved us a lot of money. We will certainly use him again!

Steven was very prompt and courteous. He came to examine the problems of my garage door and came back next day with the replacement parts for the repair. The whole thing took no more than a couple of hours, most likely due to his experience in the trade. We are really happy with the outcome.

What can i say about Steve, he’s on time, efficient and the most honest repair guy I have EVER hired. He has fixed my garage twice now, once because of a previous owner and this time again he replaced my motor with a new one with under warranty. If you want your garage fixed Steve is your man. He also has a plumbing business as well. 5 stars is not enough for this guy!

Steve came to our house to fix our broken weather strip on our garage door and fix anything else we needed done to the door. It had been opening with loud clunks, lately. He installed a new garage door opener and springs to the garage door he had installed on our property in 1994. He came on Monday to check what he needed to do and what he needed to bring. Then he returned on Wed. Feb. 10, 2016, right at the promised time of 9 am and started to work on the door. He installed a new state of the art Garage Door opener, new springs, and a new weather seal on the bottom of the door. Our door was still in great shape, after being installed by him, in 1994, which is so amazing. He had to create a new door bottom to attach the new weather strip as they no longer make the old type weather strip for our 22 year old door. He is extremely professional, gets right to work and finished in amazing time. We now have a fixed up garage door system that works and look like new. We are very pleased with his work and cleanup and would recommend him to whoever needs a new garage door and/​or needs repairs on an old garage door.

I am so happy to have found this company on Unilocal.Steve came out within an hour and fixed our garage door perfectly, and charged us a fraction of what a competing company had quoted me. I was pleasantly surprised with his professionalism, his fair pricing, his craftsmanship, and his quick show up. I will recommend him to all of my neighbors for all their garage door repair needs.

Steve came by last week to fix my garage. I was surprised he showed up within the given time frame. I was worried at first because he arrived exactly at 10am, when he gave me a 9−10am time window. So I was very grateful. His work was quick and professional. He explained what was wrong and gave me the best options. He also told me that I would need to have something else replaced within a year or two, and that he didn’t want to do it yet since he isn’t in the business of selling stuff people don’t need yet. Our garage spring broke and I called Door Crafters based on the reviews here. I left a message and got a call back shortly thereafter. Steve came over the same day and fixed everything for a fair price. No up selling, no bs, just great service from a good guy. Highly recommend Door Crafters.

Steve has your best interest in mind. How many contractors are truly like this. He came to my home 3 times. The first two times we could not replicate the issue and he assured me that he has the equipment to replace the motor if needed, but seeing as how it was working to continue using it! He left without making a dollar 2 times and gave me a great price should the problem reoccur.
The old motor ran almost another year before finally it could not run. He always came, made adjustments to get it running. I cannot tell you how the 2 other garage contractors that came and told me the motor needed replacing for reasons blah blah.
Door Crafters of Irvine is a unique company that I feel comfortable recommending my friends and family.

This review is overdue. Steve has been awesome and helped us out twice. Both times he was there either the same day or the next day. Fantastic turnaround time and fixed our problem immediately and at a good price. I am glad to recommend him and his work.

Steve with Door Crafters came within 30minutes and quickly fixed the garage door! The fix was not that cheap but he gave us a good recommendation and told us he would apply today’s cost if we need a new motor within the next few months. The fix was $ 89.00, basically was having trouble opening and closing.

Door Crafters gave me a quote over the phone for installing a garage door opener. They gave me a same-​day appointment and got the job done quickly. They honored the price quote and didn’t try to add any additional charges. I also liked that they are licensed by the State of California to do this type of work. My experience with them was great.

My garage door spring decided to break over the holiday weekend. So I was a little worried when I began calling around and heard voicemail messages. Steve from Door Crafters of Irvine replied to my voicemail right away. He was at my home in 30 minutes. FAST! He replaced the old springs with a new set and the job was done in less than an hour! 5 stars for sure! I found them on Unilocal and I’ll definitely be using them again for any future garage door issues. Steve is a funny guy — very personable. My garage door spring broke and he came out on a Saturday morning to replace it. They showed up on time, did the replacement, replaced the end bearings and serviced the whole door in half an hour (at a reasonable price)…and taught me a few things to better understand the product along the way (and not in the tacky condescending way some contractors are towards women) ;-). He’s a good guy and I’ll definitely be spreading the word when friends have garage door repair needs! Thanks Steve!

Highly recommend! Called the day before thanksgiving to have my garage door serviced. I just moved and needed an additional garage door opener and key pad entry. Steven was extremely responsive and arrived within a few hours! He was very informative and quick to provide everything I needed at a great price! I will definitely use their services going forward. Called this company because of the reviews here. So glad! Garage door not working right on and off for a while. I hired a handyman to fix it, but that didn’t help at all. Would only fully open or close when it wanted to. Hard to know if I could leave the house or not.
He came out pretty quickly, and started working on the door. But he knew what he was doing. He adjusted the motor, oiled the cable, moved the eyes so they’d stay stable, and fixed a bend in something or other.
Within an hour my door worked every time, was way quieter, and stays that way. I’m only sorry I didn’t think to look here sooner. Oh, and he never tried to up sell me on a new door, or motor. Just fixed everything way better than its been for years. A pro. And I’m grateful to find one.

I thought we needed our garage door painted and a broken window pane fixed. I didn’t know we could replace and get brand new the panels — for less than what the Handiman wanted to repair them for!!! Steve is the best — reasonable fair minded helpful quiet courteous timely. I couldn’t possibly ask for more.

I left a message for Steve and he returned my call within a few hours. He was super friendly and had a great sense of humor; you know those people you meet, and you immediately like them? Yeah, that’s definitely Steve.
He had availability to come out the next day, but my schedule was pretty iffy so we made an apppointment for 2 weeks out with the window of 8a-​11a on a Saturday. Saturday comes around and he arrives a little before 8:30a, which is awesome. Looked at the garage, pointed out the problem immediately, and a little over an hour later, the problem was fixed.
Steve was very patient in answering our questions and has a mastery of his craft (see what I did there). He is also knowledgeable about plumbing, which was nice, because he checked out my faulty toilet for me while he was there (and had I chosen to, he could and would have fixed it after ordering parts).
Overall great service, incredibly professional, extremely nice, and thankfully punctual. I’d highly recommend Steve to anyone who needs repair services in the future!

I called Door Crafters in late July for a minor repair. It took a few days for them to get back to me. We set up an appointment, and Steve showed up on time. He suggested a solution to the problem, but since he didn’t have the parts on hand, he would order them and call back
That was on August 3 — more than four weeks ago. Door Crafters didn’t call me back, so I contacted another company that fixed the problem in a businesslike manner.

Steven is pure gold as a contractor!
Remember the days prior to Unilocal and Angie’s List where finding a contractor you could trust was like trying to find your missing pet bunny rabbit when you live on the edge of a river in Florida. Okay, a bit random… but you get the idea. A whole lot of scary and teeth goin’ on…
Steven is a smart guy, sociable and knowledgeable about things way beyond the plumbing or garage door work he is LICENSED for. These are other qualities that I’ve found to be rare with other contractors I’ve worked with. And yes, I recommend you look for an «expert in their field» by choosing someone who is licensed for this type of work.
Now to the work performed…
Our garage door motor was working fine but it wouldn’t raise up. The spring was mentioned online and by someone else I consulted. Steven knew right away that my spring was fine which I kind of thought because it looked fine. Immediately after that he found the cause (in seconds, not minutes). Our trolley (yep think SF cable car my friends) had failed due to teeth which were worn down. He replace the trolley and we were good to go via a verification of a couple of test runs. The cost dropped by 50% since it was only the trolley. Phew…
Its nice to find a contractor you can trust and its an added bonus when they’re likable as well.
