I used to have a positive impression of this place. In fact, I have recommended this dentist several times. And still would if you love the good ol’ fashioned confrontational receptionist.
Everything went downhill based on my last visit. Specifically, I had a very unpleasant experience with Jennifer at the front desk.
I was recently billed for my last visit because it was the third visit within a calendar year. I called in just to confirm that the bill was for me and, in fact, I called with the intention of paying. I even made this clear on the call that I wanted to pay my bill. I did ask if there was a discounted cash rate and Jennifer told me it was already discounted. I told her that it just was not clear to me that this recent visit was going to come out-​of-​pocket. She told me that there was a note on my account that I was made aware. I asked where the note was and she said it was marked on my first visit that I signed paperwork indicating I was financially responsible for anything not covered by my insurance. Great. That was not the issue. I clarified that I was just hoping it would be more apparent in the future that a visit was not going to be covered.
Although there was no reason to be snarky, Jennifer asked, «so what do you want me to do? write off a service that you received?» No. I confirmed that I was just hoping there would be additional clarity in the future and that I wasn’t sure where the attitude was coming from. Her response: «well you’re the one that called demanding for a discount.» There was a brief moment of silence where I just had to ask myself if I was talking to a child.
Following this confrontational stalemate, I gave her my credit card and she charged me immediately. I will not be returning to this office and my friends who I recommended to this place are now finding a new dentist as well.

Great dentist. He walks you through procedures so you feel comfortable and know exactly what is going on and how long you will hear/​feel things. Also incredibly honest — he recently replaced 2 of my crowns that he put in about 2 years ago because he wasn’t happy with them (some lab issue). I didn’t know anything was wrong but he brought the issue up and replaced them without charging me. Also love that the office is always on time. I have never had to wait for an appointment or to see the dentist. Always in and out which is nice.

I have been seeing Dr. Tassey since I was 10 years old and he has always been a great dentist. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great dentist in the irvine area.

Dr. Tassey also employs a team of highly skilled dental hygienists who are devoted to the patients they see each day.

I’ve been his patient for over 9 years, and by far, he is one of the best dentist I’ve ever encountered. Caring, professional and very fair with his billing and professional services. He has great chair-​side manners, and always explains what he’s doing, or what you’re about to experience «I’m going to do xyz right now, and you might feel a little pressure». His dental assistants are always very gentle with patients. It is always a shock when he refers me out to specialist and I find out how rough other dentists are! I would refer him with complete confidence to anyone needing excellent dental care!

Dr. Tassey and his staff are excellent! They truly care, and it shows. All of their equipment is cutting-​edge and state-​of-​the-​art.
I have been going to his office nearly 15 years. I will continue as long as their doors stay open, which I hope is forever!

Dr. Tassey and his staff treat people — not just their teeth.
All of your concerns are addressed including how to pay for the work. The hygienist will tell you the cost of x-​rays without being referred to the big black hole of «the billing department».
Dr. Tassey takes a conservative long term approach in his practice. He does everything to save teeth, save time, save money for his patients and his practice, and retain his clients using these approaches.
One of the best things is that you will leave with a smile knowing you have been treated fairly and with respect.
