Pretty awesome selection of macarons and it wasn’t super overpriced either. My niece really enjoyed her macarons.

Disappointed, I asked for 4 dozen macaroons without their brown paint on them. And they actually told me they make the macaroons weeks in advance and take them out of the freezer. Might be soft but not fresh and not the original macaroon

I ordered the Japanese pumpkin green tea cake for my sister’s graduation. I came to pick up the cake a few hours earlier than I had told them. They did notify me that I was a little earlier, but they were able to accommodate me anyway. The cake came out in just 10 minutes! And the family loved it! Normally cakes are too sweet, but you don’t taste too much of the sugar in this one. I recommend to anyone looking for sweets that aren’t too sweet. You can even try one of their slices before you buy a whole one. Their macaroons are to die for. Best in town. I also used to come for their coffee and teas in the morning when I worked in the area.

We got some ice cream, coffee, and macarons. We took a pretty long time but they were patient with us. They were training two new people at the time. The ice cream and macarons were good. To be honest the macarons are a bit on the sweet side, but that’s a personal preference thing. The coffee… was meh, but that’s not what they specialize in, so I’m not going to ding them for it. If they had better coffee the sweetness of their macarons would be perfect with a coffee. If you get ice cream you get a macaron on top.

They use to have more pastries here but they have been changing the menu many times. The outside says macaroon ice cream but it’s more like ice cream with a macaroon on top. When I sampled the ice cream I actually didn’t want any since it was pretty sweet. I felt like I had to order so we got the taro with mochi topping. God it was so gross it was even melting on the weight scale. The texture and flavor is so weird kind of like marshmallow puff I don’t think I’ll ever try the ice cream again. I miss the more variety of bread and the Korean appetizers.

They carry beautifully made macaroons in a variety of exquisite flavors. They’re not the best I’ve ever had, but they’re better than the average macaroon in the oc. The service here is wonderful! It’s really night and day when compared to the service at 85c. This is a great place to chat with a friend over tea/coffee and pastries. Cakes are very moist with delicate flavors. I do love their strawberry filled crossaint!

Been to this place a few times to curb the sweet tooth. Their macaroons are pretty but expensive. Their ice cream is organic which is a plus. One scoop is plenty. Ice cream flavors vary from pistachio, Madagascar vanilla, taro, and other interesting flavors. Nice selection of desserts and baked goods. Located next to kicking crab.

This is a cute café located in the Diamond Jamboree plaza. The plaza has plenty of parking, although during peak hours it might take a while to find a spot near your desired location. We came pretty late so the café was pretty empty and we had our pick of seating in the back. Unfortunately, perhaps because it was late and they weren’t expecting more customers, the tables were all a bit dirty… I came here with my friend for dessert – everything looked so pretty! We shared a slice of sweet potato cake, which she liked. I thought it was just okay, but that is how I feel about most of them(there is one place that had a really good one but I cannot remember where…) I also tried their rosewater and white chocolate macaron. It tasted pretty good! They have a large selection of cakes and other desserts here so I will have to come back to try the rest~ 3.5 stars rounded down to 3 for now(but will hopefully move up once I come back for more desserts)

I cannot attest to the rest of the other items here as I came here purely to give a try of their macarons that I heard were pretty good. A friend and I who were having dinner with some other friends wandered over here to continue a little one-on-one chats and I suggested let’s go try this place in the same plaza. It was pretty late in the evening but there were still a lot of people coming in and out of this café ordering either bread, cakes or macarons. I decided to grab 3 macarons of the rose, salted caramel and coffee. My friend and I shared them amongst us as we were talking and they were definitely just okay. Nothing too unique about them and just a little generic — as in no one was trying to eat the last few pieces. Maybe one day I’ll come back to try their other desserts, but for my macaron fix; this is probably not the place to go.

they have ice cream and they close at midnight! I only got the ice cream; I wanted to try their bungeoppang, but they ran out(I came at 11PM so I wasn’t surprised) I got the jasmine green milk tea and it costed $ 4 for one scoop, kind of pricey, but it was in my opinion, it tastes better than afters(and it’s more worth it than the afters in DJ) it’s can taste both the jasmine and green tea; it’s like a mixture of afters’ jasmine milk tea with seaside bakery’s green milk tea it also came with one macaron cookie so that’s even better! the ice cream is pretty thick, but it’s really creamy and it kind of melts in your mouth(?) it’s a similar texture to creamistry! the employee who helped me was nice and attentive! I will definitely be back to try their other goodies, but maybe not as late unless I have late night ice cream cravings!

The drinks are not so great. I’ve given a try to two drinks, and chai was bitter(not enough half and half probably,) and the passion fruit green tea was just. Eh. I will tell you, the macarons and the ice cream are good. If you like creamy, soft ice cream with a pretty good portion, go there. I was pretty impressed with the earl grey ice cream they have. Honestly better than the afters ice cream in the same plaza in my humble opinion. BUTTHESTAFF. They are not all rude — there were definitely friendly people. However — I remember this Asian girl very clearly, definitely Korean, with a fierce eyeliner on. Very unfriendly with a cold expression, made me wanna tell her she shouldn’t work with customers because you know, you kind of have to be FRIENDLY. The manager there also seems unfriendly, because when I was there, he was just yelling at one of the workers and the customers can clearly hear. I believe that for a place to get good reviews, the SERVICE should be good. Yep, not here. My friends daughter used to work here, told me she absolutely hated the experience.

Saw this place on our way to our car after eating ajisen ramen. Me and my coworker got some macaroons and they were good. Service is a little slow because there’s only one register. There was probably three people total and it felt like 15 min just to pay. I do like how if you mention Unilocal, you get a free macaroon! I got the red velvet for free and it was reallllly good.

Their ice cream is incredible. I still feel their pastries vary from decent to very good, but their Gelato-like ice cream comes in huge scoops and is amazing. Namely the red velvet, Vietnamese coffee, and the macarons and cream.

This place doesn’t get enough attention! I have been coming here for years and they have great pastries, dessert and drinks. I can’t speak for any of their other food, but they have a good roulette cakes, strawberry and custard filled croissant, and lots of other goodies. They also have boba and other beverages as well as macarons and even ice cream. They are open until midnight, so it is a perfect place to meet up with a friend to chat over dessert or a beverage of some sort.

I’ve come to Bön Epi before on a few occasions to try their macarons, and I wasn’t too impressed. They’re beautiful and cost about the same as other macaron places, but they’re nothing special. There are many, many other places in Orange County that have much higher quality macarons. I do however, do really enjoy their recent addition of ice cream. They have unique flavors that remind me a bit of Afters Ice Cream, such as vietnamese coffee, jasmine green milk tea, taro, milk & cereal and macron cookies and cream. The employees are very patient, and encourage you to try as many flavors as you want! It’s $ 3.50 for one scoop, or $ 5.00 for a double scoop, and an extra $ 1 for a waffle cone. My only qualm with the ice cream was with my experience with their«creamery buns»(which very much seems to be exactly what Afters is offering). My friend ordered an ice cream filled donut(you could also choose to have ice cream in a croissant, or between large macaron cookies etc.). When the server offered to heat the donut for my friend, we were both surprised to see him pop the donut right into the microwave at the front side of the store! Perhaps thats just the protocol for their creamery buns, but that was a little bizarre to me. tl;dr: If you want some unique handspun ice cream, especially if you want it in a donut, just go get the real thing at Afters Ice cream. Bön Epi is just a knock-off, but unlike most knock-offs, it’s still equally expensive.

Bön Epi has a lot of bread, dessert, and drink options. Their macarons are good but macarons get a little too sweet for me and are more expensive than other desserts I prefer. Their breads are good but they have a limited selection and some are really oily. And they now have ice cream/gelato. I don’t remember. It’s unfortunate that they’re in the same plaza as 85 Bakery and other dessert places. But it’s a nice option to have and I usually end up getting something anyway.

Paid $ 13 for this sloppy shaved ice. They ran out of red bean! can you believe getting a shaved ice without red beans? And if they ran out of ingredients why is it still damn so expensive for this medium sized bowl of shaved ice? Presentation was okay.

I love Bön Epi. I remember when I first moved to California I was always so excited to come here! Their macarons are delicious and I believe they recently got new ice cream added to their menu! I haven’t tried it yet but I definitely will next time(: I usually come here when I want to get birthday cakes. I’m not too crazy about their tiramisu cake, but their strawberry is definitely delicious. Some macaron recommendations *Green Tea *Rose/Lychee *Nutella *Coffee *White Chocolate Macadamia Nut *Earl Grey

This place is located in the Diamond Jamboree plaza. I wouldn’t have even noticed this place if I didn’t walk over to kicking ’ crab. Let me start by telling you how great this pastry shoppe is: Nutella lovers please get their Nutella fishy looking cake! It’s so cute and edible at the same time! The shoppe have Macarons, buns, pastry cakes, birthday cakes, drinks and even sweet potato chips! Their prices are somewhat similar to 85 degree but I would prefer to get this if you like something on the sweeter end! Their pricing are not that bad, altogether everything ranges from a $ 1.50-$ 30. $ 30 is for the whole cake of course. Check this place out! Oh and they have ice cream now!!!

I loooove coming to Bön Epi for my macaron cravings. They’re probably the best macarons around Irvine! I highly suggest the EARLGREY and PISTACHIO macaron :) Those two are my favorite. Bread-wise, the curry croquette and potato croquette are out of this world. The bread is soft, and the outside has this crispy breadcrumb layer!!! Super good if you drizzle some Sriracha on top(which I do when I get home). ALSO!!! They now have ICECREAM! And it’s cheaper than most places you would normally go to. It’s only $ 3.50 for one heft scoop, $ 5 for 2 scoops, and $ 6.00 for 3 scoops. And they don’t gyp you on the quantity. My favorite flavors are the JASMINEGREENMILKTEA and EARLGREYLAVENDER. They’re soooooo creamy and delicious. Totally worth the price. Overall, Bön Epi has a little bit of everything that everyone can enjoy together :) Great for family or friend hangouts too! They have a sitting down area :3

I happened to be passing through and my friends and I saw this shop. I was drawn in by the vivid color displays. I then noticed that INSIDE this location was MACAROONS. I was going to pass but my stomach said otherwise. I headed inside the cute little shop. I saw a RAINBOW assortment of macaroons. They’re actually bigger in size than I thought. So I could only eat like two of them. I had the passionfruit and white chocolate vanilla? They are light and sweet! Definitely a bit sweeter than some of the other locations I go to. My friend got the 18 case of macaroons for us. And it was presented in a very cute box. I almost wanted to get a box just for fun without the macaroons. They had ice cream too. I tried the Vietnamese coffee I believe? Something along those flavor lines. I didn’t try anything else but my friends ended up sharing a mint chocolate chip. One of them got very upset that there wasn’t vanilla that day. But that’s okay. My other friend ordered a macchiato. He looked pretty happy with that too. The service was prompt and excellent. We were in and out in no time. Well my crew and I took more time debating on what to get than how long it took to get our food. If I’m in the area I’ll be sure to try out some more radical flavors of ice cream and macaroons.

I’m always pleased with their macaron selection and freshness! I wish they had a location closer to Huntington Beach, but then again it wouldn’t be a good idea because I’d be there all the time. The girls at the register were very friendly and helped me make a new selection of flavors. I even got 2 free samples with my purchase. I guess I went a little overboard with my sweet tooth cravings! I’ll be back again!

Two words that personally make Bön Epi deserving of 4 Stars to me: STRAWBERRYCROISSANTS. While I will always be a loyal and faithful fan of Cream Pan’s Strawberry Croissants, if I can’t make the trip to Tustin or if Cream Pan runs out of their stock I wouldn’t mind going to Bön Epi to fulfill my cravings! And they’re so much bigger than the ones at Cream Pan and filled with strawberry and cream goodness for $ 2.99. Seriously, when I got the croissant I felt like it was the size of my head! Okay, not literally but it was pretty big! A generous portion. Bön Epi also has other desserts that will be sure to savor your sweet tooth! From breads, danishes, cakes, macarons and pastries, there’s a little something something for everyone! They also have milk teas, coffee, and teas here! I ordered a medium green tea, sweetened and it wasn’t anything too special but it really washed down the sugary goodness from my strawberry croissant. Another good thing about Bön Epi is it seems like a pretty decent place to study! I personally haven’t done it, but I saw some students there and I can see the appeal. Drinks, pastries, and table space really adds to all the studying possibilities! Also they close at 12AM& by Irvine standards, we all know that’s pretty darn late! Parking. So, for parking we all know that DJ is hot or miss and it can be difficult to find parking here when it’s super busy. There’s also a parking structure, but that’s at he opposite end of the plaza, so if that ends up being your last resort I personally would find somewhere else to go but that’s just me. Bön Epi isn’t my favorite place to get desserts but it’s definitely a good option if you’re in the area. What’s more is that there’s(usually) never any lines. So that’s also a plus if you’re in a rush!

Dessert is my crack and I’m always feenin’ for it. If I go to long without it, just like a crackhead I go through the withdrawals. It’s an addiction but an addiction that taste so delicious ^_^ Bön Epi Pastisserie is where I go to get my fix. This place has me feeling oh so good. — Cakes(Japanese Pumpkin & Green tea, French Cheesecake, Fruit Cake, Tiramisu and Strawberry Shortcake) — Macarons(Red Velvet, Sea salt caramel, Nutella, White chocolate macadamia, Pistachio, Coconut, Hazelnut, Jasmine, Green tea, Passion fruit, Orange Blossom, White Peach, Coffee, Rose, Strawberry, Lemon and Earl grey) In addition to cakes and macarons; fruit desserts, danishes, croissants, brioches, mochi, pizza pastry, sugar toast and potatoe buns. There’s also coffees, lattes and teas here too! What’s crackalackin’ in my mouth? A slice of Japanese Pumpkin and green tea cake, French Cheesecake and macarons. The Pumpkin and green tea cake was superb! Fluffy, moist and so much flavor in both the Pumpkin and green tea. This girl was satisfied just with this slice of cake. The French cheesecake was sweet and had a creamy texture. Don’t expect Cheesecake factory quality, but it’s still really scrumdeliyumcious! Still on a sugar high I tried the red velvet and salt caramel macarons, both didn’t disappoint. Tasty and good it was! It’s well worth $ 1.95 for each little macaron. Taste the rainbow. Bön Epi Pastisserie hits the spot. It’s located in the Diamond Jamboree Center across from 85c Bakery and next to The Kickng crab. With lots of variety, it’s pefect for the sweet tooth cravings or for someone like myself, satisfies my addiction. Overall, great experience! There’s no keeping me away. Happy eats!

I’m not a cake person but. MUST. GO. BACK. SOON. Stopped by today to get some sweets for a close girlfriends birthday and I got 2 cake slices and 5 macarons which came out to be $ 17.xx. I believe each cake slice was $ 3.95& the macarons were $ 1.95 each. I don’t buy sweets too often so I thought it was a bit pricey but oh well. +SWEETPOTATOCAKE: YUMMMMM. Sold by the slice, this cake was extremely moist and not dense at all. It wasn’t too sweet and it was just good overall. I’m not a fan of cream or frosting but the cream used with this cake was soft and fluffy. +STRAWBERRYSHORTCAKE: I asked which cake slice was the most popular and this one was recommended to me by the cashier and boy, was she right! This one too was very soft and moist. The strawberry taste was subtle and overall wasn’t too sweet. The cake literally melted in my mouth. I was also given a free coconut macaron as a sample! So sweet of them and it totally made my day because I love macarons. I devoured it on my way to my friend and it was really good! The macaron was flaky and semi chewy. and it had pieces of coconut on the outer shell to enhance the coconut flavor of the macaron. My dad had also bought a whole cake from here for my grandmothers birthday before and that cake was amaaaazing. It was so light, fluffy and moist. Like I said before, I am not a huge cake person ATALL but the cakes here are that good.

STRAWBERRYCREAMCROISSANTS. Although I’m a fan of Cream Pan’s version, Bön Epi’s has more for your buck. It’s a gigantic croissant instead of a small portioned pastry. Not hatin’, just sayin’! They really pack it with lightly sweetened custard and at most 5 – 6 strawberry slices for appearances, but really, I’m just in it for the cream. Other favorites that I almost always pick up if they haven’t run out is red bean, sweet cream filled bread, curry pan, cheese brioche and blueberry/cheese danish thingy. Their almond and chocolate croissants aren’t bad either. For my most recent visit, I came to pick up dessert after dinner. My brother got a tiramisu and I tried to keep it healthy with a fruit tart. Moarr cream and lots of fruits :) The crust was filled with chocolate and was more like a cookie than a crumbly pie crust.

**macarons** Irvine, CA Not a new place at all. Just one of those places that you should already know about. But in case you don’t, this place has really good macarons, chewy, yummy, perfect. So many flavors to choose from. They threw in an extra one for free because it wasn’t perfect. I don’t care. As my daddy says, all gonna end up the same place. In my big fat tummy, lol. They also have breads and pastries, sandwiches, and the lady who helped me is really nice. They have a seating area to chill and eat. If you’re buying macarons as a gift set, they do offer some really nice boxes, for a small fee. If I lived near by, I’d come more often to check out the other goodies they have. Worth bookmarking for next time you’re in the area. It’s in a shopping plaza with lots of parking and so many other places to check out here. Bön apatite! Thanks for reading! :) ~*kenzie*~
