Bank of America

This is possibly the worst Bank of America branch ever. The lines are always long and the tellers are always super slow. There is always someone who just doesn’t know what they are doing at the teller and wastes everyone’s time. Bank of America does nothing to convenience their members at this location. The useless security guard literally does nothing. Last time I was here there were two creepy dudes standing inside the bank staring at people using atms, and hitting on women walking by. Get your shit together I’m done with BOA.

Not even in bad neighborhoods have I ever seen a bank branch place a ²⁴⁄₇ scowling uniformed security guard OUTSIDE the doors with a gun & always on a mobile phone who just watches people who come close to the door. Who thought this was a better idea than simply placing a guard INSIDE the bank so that people inside would feel safe as opposed to the cars outside in an already small space. On top of that the staff is bumbling around and never seems to have a clear answer on simple questions. The lines are not always long but likely because the tough security guy in his sunglasses scares off potential customers. Good luck I’ll take my business to branches who can make me feel secure without wondering why they’re so insecure.

Avoid this branch! They have no idea what they are talking about when I had a question and gave me the wrong information. Totally wasted my time. Went to the branch on Jamboree instead and they answered my question right away and fixed the issue.

The staff is friendly and there is plenty of parking but the service is slow!!! They need more staff.

Updated to a 4 star! It sucked having to go in 4 times to unfreeze my account, but finally got it to work again. The employees here are really nice. One of the bankers, Jenny was really helpful and helped me feel like a valued customer. Was planning to update to a 3, but decided to give it a 4!

I did not like the customer service I received at my most recent visit.
I came in to simply deposit a check. One guy asked why I was coming in and I said to deposit a check. He then suggested using the ATM, which I responded by saying I prefer to deposit the check in person with the teller.
I’m waiting in line for about 5 minutes and another associate asked me the same questions as the first guy and says I could use the ATM. This annoys me and I quickly tell her I would rather deposit my check in person.
I finally reach the teller. He again says I could have used the ATM.
I should be able to choose the services I want to use at this bank and other BoA’s without feeling bad about it. I really did not like how pushy they were. To me, they are not trying to ensure customers are happy. Rather, they want to steer customers to their own agenda.

Atms are always broken and the teller was rude when i told her i wanted to withdraw money. «ive never seen you at this location? Do you live nearby? Is this your home location??» Wtf. Who the hell cares and why should that freaking matter?! Was she just making small talk or verbally frisking me? She could have easily seen from her computer all her answers.

Worst branch Ever! Been with BofA for over 10 years, this is the worst branch. Wait is long, never have enough tellers and atm doesn’t always process check deposit.

The last time I came in to this b of a to open a new checking out the lady who was helping me treated me as if I was stupid and would just agree to everything she was saying/​selling. Walked out annoyed. She was telling me that because I’m a «student» it’s going to be a student package and the checking comes with a saving, even after I told her I used to work for b of a. Excuse me, who are you trying to fool? Trying to push more sales on me without even asking for my permission first. It felt like an argument with her when I stated no, last I had an account here, it was just a checking and that’s what I’m here for. She didn’t stop for a bit and I was in shock. Are you not appreciative I’m already giving you a sale?! I wanted to walk out, but needed the account to transfer money to my family who have b of a accounts. Anyways, of course she changed her story and said well it’s what we recommend to students… I appreciate her trying to make her goals, but that doesn’t mean you go ahead and try to throw in a savings account with a checking when I never asked for one. And then on top of that awkward situation she tried selling me a credit card… Are you serious? Even after I told her I just traveled here from la and I’m in a rush to get to school.
Other then that experience with the rude/​pushy lady, lve had a better experience with a male personal banker and the tellers.

UPDATE:
This is the second time I’ve had trouble exchanging currency at this location. BOA sucks in general but the online foreign exchange request wasn’t even working so I had to call this location to order my money to which the employee replied that i had to contact customer service. I called customer service and they informed me that they do NOT handle currency exchanges and that I would have to contact the local branch again.
So not only are they inefficient but they are also ill-​informed. GO TO ANOTHER LOCATION lol

Good main location off of culver but definitely NOT staffed enough. The workers are friendly but I do wish they were more attentive and efficient!
I went to exchange foreign currency and they didn’t even call me to notify whether it was done or not. I ended up having to call the day before my trip and had to call 5 times before a banker finally answered.
Frustrating especially when you’re on a schedule!

They are normally friendly. The wait times for the teller or the machines are longer than i would like so for that they are not deserving of 4 stars. You would think that after being a loyal customer for over 10 years they would recognize you but i am just another face in the crowd.

Lou was a great help today. She showed me how to double my cash back credit card points and ditch my annual fee. I didn’t realize I was stuck using an outdated rewards program. Loved the no pressure approach to helping serve the customer.

Having a member of our family opening their account at this branch, we sometimes have to return to it to conduct some business. In comparison to other Bank of America branches in the general area, this one has slightly more traffic and the wait time to see a specialist took about 15 minutes, but the line for the ATM was no different than any other branch or ATM with approximately one person ahead conducting a normal transaction. They have good air conditioning.
The specialist we saw was very kind, although he tended to chat it up with small talk while waiting for the data to process (in fact, he even remembered the fact we opened an account with him as the associate and small talked about it as well). Despite our inquiry being rather simple, he still answered our questions about it – though whether those answers were accurate or not, we know not until we actually put them to use.
They have employees that speak foreign languages here as well.

Great branch, fast quick, manager helped with line up which showed they care about customers time, would recommend branch ¹⁰⁄₁₀

But Jenny L was very helpful and gave us very useful information about wire transfers abroad. She problem solved and helped us figure out the most cost effective and convenient way to transfer. Great service.

Waited an hour waiting for an associate to help me after getting cut in line. Now waiting even longer because the associate and manager both don’t know how to help me. If you have a choice, avoid this branch. They may be friendly but that doesn’t make up for the incompetence.

I can’t come to this bank anymore. The security guards are extremely loud and seem to forget why they are there. They always have groups of their friends around them and you can’t get around them to use the bank. Also, there could be a crime in this bank and I don’t think these guards would make a bit of difference.

VERY friendly employees — and they get you out quickly on a Friday evening. Lou helped me and she was very nice.
I highly recommend this branch!

This BAC branch is so-​so. I prefer to visit my local branch.
The line gets pretty long and there’s not enough tellers around.
Plus those tellers are really slow. I mean pretty slow.
I would avoid this place if you don’t have much time for your banking transactions.

Friendly and helpful people work at this small branch.
I used this Irvine branch to complete the purchase of a used car. The wait was about 10 minutes to see teller. The seller of the car uses this branch, so many of the people knew his name.
Once we got to the teller, I thought I was going to have to get a bank check to pay the seller, then he’d deposit it. However, since we were both use B of A, all we had to do is swipe our ATM cards. I did mine first since the money was coming from one of my accounts, then the seller gave his card to the teller and the teller manually input the seller’s account. Once they verified some information and got his manager’s approval due to the amount being transferred, B of A made the transfer and voila!!! The seller was paid!
