I bought a pair of shears and some combs from Kenji and let tell you these are the best shears I have ever owned they cut through hair like butter I would recommend anyone looking for a set of shears to shop from them. Also, the combs that they sell work amazing they are not flimsy whatsoever and are very stable. I’m always going to be a returning customer thanks Kenji!

I bought a pair or Omega shears at B.W.Boyd Shears back in the early 90’s when the original owner was running the company. I guess the company was bought by the current owners about 10 years ago. Well, let me tell you the new owner is the worst! I have only had my shears sharpened at B.W. Boyd over the years but, haven’t had them sharpened for at least 10 years because I am no longer working as a hairdresser and really don’t cut hair that much these days. Anyway, last month I brought my Omega shears into be sharpened and after a few weeks after I had them back I noticed that there were grind marks on both sides of my shears. I hadn’t noticed the damage until then because I was going to give my husband a hair cut and this is when I got a close look at my shears. It was very obvious and had a ridge of rough metal above the tightening screw. Needless to say, I was very upset. They do not make Omega shears anymore and are priceless to me. I called and spoke to the owner and she told me to bring them in so she could see them. I showed her the damage and she acted like she couldn’t see the damage. After I pointed it out she reluctantly took them in back and smoothed out the ridges and brought them back out. It was smoother but, the shape was different. With hand made shears everything matters when they are sharpened. I’m pretty sure they are ruined. I was almost about to cry but, I was mad at the same time. I asked for my $ 30 back for the sharping cost that I had paid and they gave me a fight about giving me back my $ 30. I told her that I should get my money back for having to drive all the way back for them to fix what they had done. Finally, the owner said she would give me back my $ 30 but, I could never come back again. I told them «I promise you that I will NEVER come back again» Why the hell would I? They ruined my shears! This is a warning to all who are thinking of having their shears sharpened at B.W. Boyd Shears. DO NOT DO IT. YOU WILL BE SORRY. The owner is a hack and doesn’t have any integrity.

I had my shears sharpened here a few months back and they did an amazing job! I called ahead, walked in and waited and with in 20 minutes I had my shears like new again! Actually better than new!!! And they offer a guarantee on their service

Kenji is the best guy to get your scissor sharpen!

I’ve been sharpening my shears for a while with them. I am particular about who sharpens my shears. I dropped my shear recently, (yikes) Kenji came into the salon took the shears and gave me a loaner for mean time. He is always nice and polite :) I have used many sharpening companies and so far B.w. Boyd shears are the best. My shears feel brand new every time I get them resharpen. I will totally recommend B.w. Boyd

I’ve been sharpening my shears with BW Boyd for almost 10 years now (ever since beauty school). And I’ve tried other places and I’ll only go to BW Boyd now and always. They’ll come to you and even lend you a pair so you’ll never be without shears! They’re all very knowledgeable about the tools they sell and even tools they don’t sell! They really are the best in the business of sharpening hair shears. They even sell shears and will help pick what’s best for you and what you want to spend. It’s truly surprising that they’d only get 2 stars. They deserve 8 stars!!!

do not I repeat do not get your hears sharpened here. I don’t care look somewhere else. the original Japanese man who worked there for years sharpening shears has left and I made the mistake of having the new lady sharpen them. they are still dull and bending hair and sounds like it’s crushing hair instead of sniping. I brought in some new shears I had gotten that were way off, an guess what? they are still off and it’s like they didn’t do anything to them. I’m totally upset and will not go back. I need to find a new person!

I called the other day before I came in and asked how long it would take to get my scissors sharpened, and they said their were 2 other scissors there to get sharpened before mine and my co-​worker. They said it would take about an hour and a half. We started driving out there and arrived within 30 minutes. They all of a sudden changed their story and said they now had 10 scissors and would not be done until the end of the day. We opted out until they suggested that our representative would be able to drop them off in the morning the next day. We decided that would work so we left them and when to an appointment 45 minutes away. As we were waiting we received a call from them stating that the shears would be ready in 10 minutes and we would need to pick them up because now our representative would not be able to drop them off the next day. Unfortunately we were too far away and had to explain to them how it was poor business to keep telling us one thing and then doing another. After arguing for 30 minutes with them they finally agreed to bring them and when they did our scissors were messed up to the point that we couldn’t cut with them anymore.
