B&C Custom Hardware and Bath is an independent, locally owned and operated small business. We firmly believe in strengthening our local community and economy.

History

Established in 1984.

Founded in 1984 by Milt and Doris Bates and Don and Barbara Coster, B&C Custom Hardware and Bath has a lengthy history in the construction industry. Their thirst for luxurious and practical (yes that is possible) plumbing and door hardware carries through today. We are truly an Orange County company. No home offices in another state, no parent company on the other side of the world. We have been ingrained in the OC building arena for decades and we plan to stay that way.

As one of the largest independent plumbing and hardware showrooms in Southern California, we choose to surround ourselves with the things we love and items that inspire us-​and our customers. We carefully look at each of our manufacturers to insure that they have the quality, value and performance that our customers have grown to expect from B&C. We offer several lines not available anywhere else in the OC!

This is the second time I have used B & C for kitchen and more recently a bathroom renovation. The customer service is excellent. I recommend having an appointment before you go. Brett guided me through the process of selecting a bathtub and all of my accompanying fixtures. He carefully explained differences between products and helped me make final decisions. His depth of knowledge was invaluable. Pricing was reasonable. I needed to cancel one item and he got me a full refund in a timely manner. This will be my go to place when we do our next renovation. Our bathroom is beautiful. Thank you Brett. Thank you B & C.

I followed the orders of Bobby on placing an order and when placed double checked the delivery date. I scheduled my team of workers with enough time to get the hardware delivered as the project was to be built with specifics of the custom hardware. I get a call the day of when the hardware should have been delivered telling me that the hardware wasn’t going to be there because Bobby forgot to answer the questions that he asked me to get the correct hardware for the manufacturer. I then ask him to expedite the order and says he can’t. He would see what he could do contact the rep and push it forward would call me back. This was at 8:00 am. I gave him enough time to call me and never did. I call him back at 3:00 tells me he’s wrapping up with a customer just taking payment and would check his voice mail and call me back. Still no call back. But take in mind they already charged me 8 days ago for the hardware they said to deliver. They sure did convince me with the knowledge they had that’s why I bought from them. But the follow through is very unprofessional. He admitted to me that he got so busy he didn’t even check his voice mail or his email. That he came in early the next day to catch up. This is the first and last time I ever buy from this company! Very poor customer service. To much hype. Should spend more time training the sales guys on customer service and follow up! I guess since they had my money they considered me a fish in the Bag!

B&C Hardware has permanently lost my business, which is too bad, because they have a beautiful showroom. I could tell within 10 seconds of talking to Brad about our bathroom remodel, that it wasn’t going to go well. His exchange with me was condescending, flippant, and overall off-​putting. He pressed me for specifics that I didn’t know, then told me he already had me pegged for what I would want, and basically said «I told you so.» He smirked and snickered at my answers and disrespected our entire conversation. After biting my tongue for 10 long minutes while getting the information I had driven a long way to get, I finally told him how awkward and completely disrespectful that his help had been. His response was that he was an «educator» and not a «salesman.» He was also quick to tell me he has been doing this for 20 years. If that is how he treats a customer 10 seconds into conversation, he should not be in this business. I had a similar experience 5 years ago during our kitchen remodel with a moody, indifferent, also condescending, salesperson, Bobby. Luckily, Derek swooped in to save my business and completely change my experience (that time!). I was willing to try again today (5 years later) and was shocked to find that nothing had changed. The B&C owners really need to reevaluate their standards for hiring.

This is the best place in the state to buy beautiful custom hardware and furnishings. The showroom is outstanding and there is nothing they can’t find for you or help you with. I’ve purchased most of my bathroom furnishings and my kitchen sink here.
I’d like to comment on the recent, excellent customer service I received. Having purchased a designer faucet many years ago from B & C I needed some parts to repair an issue caused by its’ constant use. I tried to contact the maker of the faucet with no results and sent an email to Bruce at the B & C office for his recommendation as to what to do. I had an answer within minutes that he would look into getting repair parts and within a half hour was notified by Brett that he could help me. Amazing! No issues, got the parts, fixed the faucet… excellent customer service! Can’t thank them enough.
I would totally recommend B & C Hardware for all of your Kitchen and bathroom needs.

This is a beautiful showroom. And that’s where the positives stop. We came in a few months ago to pick out a tub, sinks and faucets for our master bath. Not a single person acknowledged us when we walked in and we literally had to drag this one guy out of his comfortable desk chair to ask him some questions. We had some questions about a tub that was up by the front and he wouldn’t get off his a## to help us look at it! He just stayed in his chair and kind of leant over and asked Oh what tub?
I was stupid enough to come back again a couple of weeks later. I was the only customer in the store (on a weekday morning) and not a single person offered any assistance. I stood next to the desk area for probably 10 min while 3 employees were just chatting along before I packed up, went home and placed a $ 4700 order online.

B & C pulled off a miracle for us. Customer service is number 1! Not only were they able to find all of the faucets that are previous vendor could not, they sent some parts out to be refinished so that we could complete our project! Rock stars!!! I highly recommend B & C!

We needed to find a place with an apron sink in stock and didn’t have time to wait. B&C had several. No one else within 20 miles could get one for weeks and we needed it now.
Bobby got us in minutes before closing, got us a great deal (for a last-​minute purchase) and we had our sink.
Definitely going back for a bathtub when we do our master bath!

I just needed parts for an Herbeau faucet that I purchased on line. You can buy the faucet on line but Herbeau makes you buy the parts from an authorized dealer.
Jorge at B&C was my contact for a part. Unfortunately there was confusion at Herbeau as to which was the correct replacement part. Over a month long hassle Jorge stayed with a search for the correct part and we finally got it ordered.
Since B&C didn’t make any profit on the sale of the faucet, I think this was exemplary service for the buck or two profit on the part.

I’m not normally one to write a review however, I think this last experience has tipped me over the edge. Would have to agree with the above writer, everything seems to be a problem for these people. Absolutely the rudest customer service. I ordered a high-​end sink and faucet from them. Miss quoted prices ordered the wrong faucet and then act as if Iwere bothering them by trying to get m order correct.
Next time will absolutely look for some other group to service my home remodeling needs

Great experience, sales staff is very knowledgeable. Beautiful showroom with not only a wonderful assortment of plumbing fixtures for the kitchen and bath but door hardware and one of the largest selections of cabinet hardware I have seen. (inside scoop) It can be busy at times so I would recommend making an appointment prior to coming even just before driving over to make sure one of the sales staff is waiting for you. this will make better use of your time and you will not have to wait for someone to become available if its busy.

I must say that every experience that I have had at B & C Hardware has been less than satisfactory. No customer service and everything is a problem… mis-​quotes, inaccurate lead times and worst of all no customer service! It is almost as if they go out of their way to be rude!!!
NEVER will go back!

Michelle is who you need to ask for. She is knowledgable, personable and helpful. My neighbor also found her to be excellent. She was even good to my dog when he came with me!

The original salesman I had while friendly when I placed the order clearly did not want to be bothered when I had a problem after the fact. Another salesman was pushing hard for me to buy $ 7000 walk in tub that I wasn’t remotely interested in.
Overall I would recommend B and C for a remodel, they have a great showroom and selection just ask for Michelle.

horrible service. We walked in referred by a friend to purchase two tubs and two sets of high end faucets. We were right away an inconvenience and when I asked about a tub he said WE DONT HAVE ONE ON DISPLAY and walked away. No thanks! We walked out, no one even asked to help us.

Absolutely terrible customer service.
Spent over $ 15,000 with them on fixtures, sinks, toilets, tubs, etc. After we purchased our toilets, we found the exact ones we wanted and at a lower price elsewhere. I canceled the order within the first 24 hours and it has been over a month and I have yet to receive a refund. $ 2,000 and I can’t get a straight answer. He blames it on being short staffed!
For the last two weeks, the sales person keeps telling me the «check is in the mail».
Now I have to dispute the charge with my credit card company.
Unbelievably horrible follow up and customer service, unless your buying something right away.

I have worked with this company throughout the years have always been impressed with the ethics of the owners and how they run their business. The sales people each have their own expertise and are all very knowledgeable about products and how to work with the manufacturers they sell. I’ve found that they often have very close interactive relationships with their vendors which really helps things along if there are hiccups with lead times or the rare defective item. It’s nice to see a company that really cares about their customers and continues to keep themselves active and fresh in their industry.

I run a very busy family operated General Contractor business in Orange County for over 25 years!
Over the years we have bought from B&C and every time they have gone above and beyond.
Steve has helped us and our clients choose the best door hardware and explained why one would be better than the other and just took his time to really go over the product with us.
Since we try to provide our clients with the best and latest products. it can be very different than the traditional type of installation that we are used to. Hector and Ralph once took the time to completely uninstall their display so that we could see exactly how it was to be installed… as we all know the installation guides can sometimes read like another language all together! This was extremely helpful and we were very grateful for their assistance!
Elisa, one of the office staff team, also had been very helpful throughout the years. She has always directed us to the right person and made sure that we have always been helped in a timely matter. We really appreciate her customer service as it is hard to find these days!
This type of service is really hard to find! As a construction company we have many vendors and stores we get various products from. Thank you B & C for providing the best products and having such a great helpful team! You have really been a huge help throughout the years!

Completely mis-​priced and unprofessional sales force.
The only items we could compare were twice Internet prices.
Our architect took us there and I have to suspect she gets some sort of kick back as no one would recommend them otherwise. Too expensive, completely dishonest. Perfect place to abuse wealthy people renovating their house and who don’t pay attention to their bill. Only in orange county.
