About Steve Bowman was born and raised in Orange County. In 1996, Steve started All In 1 Handyman, as independent contracting business. He has now been providing reliable handyman services for more than 17 years. Originally servicing Irvine, Newport Beach, Newport Coast, and Fullerton, Steve moved to Southern Oregon in 2001 where he spent 10 years building his home improvement handyman business. Upon moving to Oregon, Steve studied and trained to become a licensed contractor, and became a General Contractor with the Oregon Construction Contractor Board.

Steve and family moved back to the Newport Beach and Irvine area to be closer to family. Steve is still offering the same high-​quality, reliable handyman and home remodeling services. As owner and operator of All in 1 Handyman, Steve Bowman has been providing local handyman services for more than 17 years. Originally servicing Southern California, Steve then moved to Southern Oregon in 2001 where he spent 10 years building his business. In the last few years he has spent time in both Louisiana (during Katrina) and Hawaii (during the 2006 Earthquake Disaster) volunteering and offering Relief and Clean Up to the victims of these natural disasters, accumulating over 8 months of time. Since then Steve and his family have moved back to Southern California. I used Steve to hang some TV’s on the wall, hang a few ceiling fans and install a wine cooler for me in my new home. After hanging 1 TV on the wall, he left the power cord visibly running down the wall. My wife had to ask him to hide it in the wall.
When installing the wine cooler, I told him what height to leave above the wine cooler for a door but he disregarded me and just did what he wanted. Seemed like he just wanted to jam it in there so that he could collect his money and go home. It was not level, not the right height and he refused to work with me to install it correctly. I had to step in to read the directions and measure everything. Then when I asked him to work with me and verify the measurements were correct… he said with a very sarcastic attitude… «just tell me what you want me to do» and refused to measure anything! I couldn’t believe it! I’m paying this guy to do poor work and he’s giving me an attitude?
Keep in mind that I’m a very nice and considerate person. I treated Steve with respect and professionalism. I offered to buy him breakfast, feed him lunch and never received a thank you. He really had a negative attitude from the beginning. The only thing Steve had going for him was that he was timely in getting back to me on providing a quote.
He wanted to come back the next day to perform some more work but I told him I was not happy with his work and would not be using him going forward. His response was «I’m sorry to hear that».
When installing the ceiling fans, he made the decision to not connect them to the light switch on the wall. He advised that we have to use the remote control to work the fan which I was not happy with. In addition, one of the lights doesn’t work right and I didn’t catch it before he left. It only lights up about 20%. I have another handyman coming back to fix the things that Steve did poorly.
I hired Steve based upon his Unilocal reviews. I would be cautious when hiring him.

Have used Steve Bowman at our preschool for over a year. He is the best handyman all around. He is efficient, does excellent work and maintains his integrity all the time. He has done painting, repairing, plumbing, building, assembling, electrical and anything else we throw at him. As a preschool with over 300 children, we have a lot for him to do. He has always been cheerful, kind and honest with us. So glad we found him!

We highly recommend Steve Bowman. He is efficiently multi-​skilled, professional, steady and courteous — truly an «all-​in-​1-​service.» We hired him for a full-​day job at our Santiago Canyon home. Steve hung large artwork pieces over our steep stairwell, shaved off a number of interior doors & reinstalled them. He installed door finger-​holds, coat racks, curtain rods & towel bars. He re-​routed water heater gas line and efficiently swapped out a single-​speed ceiling fan control with a three-​speed & light control (customer-​supplied). He easily resolved slow-​toilet-​tank refill issue, a stuck slider-​door screen, and reversed a refrigerator door. His well-​maintained truck seemed to contain about everything: from misc. small parts to nail gun compressor that re-​adhered our loose wood-​floor threshold, etc.
We are quite pleased and would gladly use his services again.

Sent picture of detailed job description and never got a response back. Texted and called. He could have said no. But no reply. Well he did reply after all and he is two weeks behind. Maybe he should hire more helpers!

I found this company through Craigslist 1.5 years ago when relocating to Irvine. Steve’s service is exceptional. He does quality work.
The first time I used him, he installed a wall mount for a TV, installed curtain rods, and light dimmers. He did a great job and was always easy to work with. I don’t find him expensive as some people have stated. His work quality definitely backs-​up the price.
Recently, I switched units for the time being and hired Steve to help. He was very accommodating and helped move both of the TVs and a console table into the new unit. He hooked-​up both TVs so they were ready when Cox arrived 2 hours later. That saved me a lot of hassle. He was very accommodating and was able to fit me in for 30 minutes at that last minute to get this accomplished.
He came back the following day and hung pictures, curtain rods/​curtains and installed light dimmers and a wall mount for the TV in the bedroom. Too bad this guy isn’t in NY. I could really use a good handyman at the condo in NY. It really is hard to find quality people and service nowadays.

I have used Steve several times. He did fine with all the work that I had him do. I think his hourly rate is on the expensive side. I finally found a couple other handman through referral for a third of the cost hourly.

Steve is dishonest, plain and simple. I asked him for quote on a few repairs in my home which included an exterior hole patch, 4 faucets installations, tiny shower caulking, and a repaint of 1 bathroom wall, not the whole bathroom just one small wall. I sent pictures, measurements and exact details & he quoted me a price. I ended up eliminating a big exterior job so the quote came down a couple of hundred bucks. When he arrived at my home I asked him again for the price before he started, same quote. He also stated he couldn’t put in the faucets I bought so I ran to home depot & bought 4 more. After he finished caulking and painting he charged me the full Price of the job saying it now was going to cost me another $ 550 for the faucet installations. He didn’t even thoroughly finish the paint job & left a railing he was suppose to remove on the painted wall. I guess I misunderstood the fact that he was going to upcharge when he felt like it. His apologies doesn’t cover the fact that he lied twice. He took advantage of the fact that I was a women & by myself at the time. Be cautious when dealing with him.

I must have texted, called and emailed 5 other handymen and Steve was the only one that responded right away. Our sliding patio door had issues with the wheels and kept on getting jammed. Steve messaged me back within an hour of the request and the next day he was out here fixing our door.
It was scorching hot outside and felt bad cause Steve was sweating like crazy, but didn’t complain and took his time. He even took care of our patio screen door too.
Steve’s price was very reasonable and would definitely use him again.

We had Steve come over today to do some odd jobs we had around the house. He installed floating wall shelves, a broom wall organizer and even an under the cabinet paper towel holder. No job was too small for him which was great because we are not handy people. He was knowledgeable, professional and his rates were reasonable. He even gave us some different ideas of how to install the shelving which turned out awesome. If you need someone to help with jobs around the house… Steve is the guy.

So I reached out to Steve for a few minor things that needed to be fixed in our house. I had prepped myself for a lengthy back and forth exchange on what needed to be fixed. I called him and he initially didn’t pick up as he was working on another job but immediately messaged me back asking just to send photos of what needed fixing and he would be right over the next business day. He took less than 30 min to fix everything. The cost was reasonable as well.

Was tired of nagging our previous handyman/​contractor to come back to the house to do some odds and ends, so I turned to Unilocal to find a local handyman. Found Steve and he answered right away and told me what he charged during the call, which was great because I hate being surprised with unexpected bills. He put up a new chandelier, a couple curtain rods, misc. broken fixtures around the house, and put up our family and wedding photos. He did a marvelous job with the pictures. I plan on calling on him from now on when we have accrued another list of things to be done. We also have a couple rental properties that I want to fix up the next time we are between tenants and I wouldn’t hesitate to call Steve.

Wow, exceeded my expectations! I called Steve, for the first time per all the review on Unilocal,and he picked up the phone! Then I am a bit worried that my jobs are too small, or even weird. Ya, I will get to that.
So Steve said he can come over the same day and look at the work. And he showed on time and very professional. I needed someone who could look at a few things, and not only just fix them, but asses how to fix them.
1. The bed frame broke. Insert joke here. But it came crashing to the ground and could have killed the cats, so it was no joke. Steve said that the steel bla bla was snapped and he has a guy who soldered unique stuff like this back together. I think he is probably a car enthusiast, like Steve, cus they know what they’re doing regarding all things mechanical. Steve tells me, get this, he will get this, done in one day! I am so used to handymen taking weeks, or more likely, not showing back up with the parts, that I actually asked him to repeat what he just said. Then Steve said he doesn’t let things pile up, chop chop, gets them done and moves on.
2. Baseboards needed to be pulled up and new ones installed. Again, next day, done! Perfect work.
3. Ok, so I feed this alley cat, long story short… needed a solution for the cat to be able to enter the garage, without allowing any alley people to enter the garage. Steve came up with an ingenious solution, and it works beautifully. Also, Steve came up ways to secure our bikes in the garage, etc.
4. A rather odd sliver of my patio door was missing. Steve looks at it and says termites. He was right. This guy knows his stuff. Any other handyman would have just slapped some putty up. And then I would not have known…
Reliable, trustworthy, very technically inclined AND very good at what he does. And for a very fair price! I am calling him again as soon as I get these termites sorted out!
I am thankful I found someone in the area who is so fast, honest and proficient at light and heavy house repair!

Tried getting a hold of this guy twice in two different occassions, looking at the 5 stars I was stoked before the call.
To my surprise, I got 0 call back from this guy not once… twice! This is where I get confused, I guess he gets his 5 stars when he actually does the work but when he doesn’t «feel» like it… good luck getting any service.
Perhaps he’s out of town, perhaps he’s got other jobs going but regardless you should always call your customers back or at minimum change your voicemail to tell people that you’re not available and then when you’ll be available again.
