AAA Automobile Club of Southern California

If you need to go to AAA, try to avoid lunchtime (12:00 PM to 1:00 PM). It can take a long time because «everyone» seems to come here during that time.
I came here just after 1:00 PM and was in and out of here for my car renewal registration in about 15 minutes. That’s the way to go and having a membership with AAA is awesome. You also get discounts to lots of hotels and Amtrak too.

My family came to this AAA Auto Club several times lately to take care of business that would have been a time-​consuming hassle at the DMV or at any other auto service, but was a breeze here. Because we weren’t quite sure of the paperwork we needed to do a title transfer or purchase car insurance, we were quite stressed at times. However, no matter how stressed we were, the person helping us (Jesse and Silvia, I believe) would be endlessly patient, respectful, knowledgeable and genuinely kind. I truly feel well taken care of, as if a friend who knows his/​her way around all of the logistics was helping me out. I’m happy I became a member of AAA and have recommended this location to several friends and coworkers already.

The Asian lady Tracy is a super bitch. I had the unfortunate luck of getting her twice in a row. The first time she was so rude I just decided to come back another time in hopes of not getting shit on again. Of course when I came back today there she was. She has a nasty disgusting attitude. She obviously does not care about her job or helping customers as she was totally useless. I just wanted to get a duplicate title and register a new car and she acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about and started yelling at me. She ended up making me pay a bunch of nonsensical fees which were not necessary in my situation totaling almost $ 200. $ 200 just to get a duplicate title!!! She did not care to listen And she couldn’t even help me register the new car. This chick is seriously confused and psycho. I should have just asked for someone else when I saw it was her who was assigned to help me and saved myself the headache and money. You guys are worse than the DMV!!! I seriously pay for your services??? I was considering buying your insurance today but your customer service is abysmal!

Worst Travel Advisor experience in the game.
I am planning a trip to Asia for 2016 and a friend of the family referred me to AAA. I should never talk to that person again after that tidbit of «advice». It was some of the worst I have ever recieved.
This location’s idea of service is an absolute abomination. After leaving 3 messages requesting a call back (they never pick up the phone) I had to walk in on a Saturday and wait for someone to assist me. The greeter promptly went and fetched «Monet», their phone weary travel advisor who told me they prefer customers with appointments only. When I asked how I can go about scheduling an appointment since they do not pick up the phone nor do they return calls I heard crickets and saw a blank stare. She then took my email and promised to get back to me.
I did receive an email 2 days later to which I replied with a proposed itinerary and that was the last I ever have heard from Monet. AAA Travel has reached the pinnacle of poor service and should reach out to AT&T to see if they have any pointers to up their craptacular service game.
Go to the Tustin location, they have professionals there.

Slowest office ever! Place has about 5 people ahead of me for DMV payments, and total of 10 people waiting and I’ve been here for ½ hrs … and counting, to make a payment. Front desk person needs an attitude check.

Have to agree with the other Unilocalers that the insurance department at AAA offices are terrible. They’re great if you want to sign up. But after you give them the credit card they IGNORE all communications after that. They say they call back but they don’t. They say they’ll return your emails, but they don’t.
I also signed up for insurance one week ahead of my actual effective date to ensure a smooth transition. Turns out the guy just sat on it for 2 weeks without ever submitting my application to the main office. Sure I was covered BUT I had no idea what was going on because my old insurance was never cancelled and I was paying for 2 insurance concurrently.
I’m quite disappointed in how it all turned out.
As for the office itself, the wait is a bit long but the staff here are generally pretty nice and helpful once they speak with you. I just don’t understand why the insurance staff REFUSES to do their job. I called the Tustin office and their the same way.
So anyone thinking about signing up for AAA insurance, be wary.

Worst service ever. We sit there and waited half hour, and then told us we couldn’t do it today

Seriously, I would have to wait 40 minutes to purchase movie tickets. I just left! I’ve been to this and other locations (Tustin, Irvine and Corona), where you can purchase movie tix at the front counter. I don’t know what changed but that’s not good service!

I have been to many AAA and this one was really nice! I came to get my tags from the DMV portion and was told there was a 30 minute wait. 10 minutes later I was called and the whole process took about 5 minutes to do. I couldnt be happier leaving with tags in had and knowing that I am safe. Also I was not pressured to get a quote for Auto Insurance or anything like that which was a nice change. I will be back for movie tickets and maybe travel planning :) I love AAA especially this one.

I came in to get my registration paid and left with 40% savings in my auto insurance policy from a leading A+ carrier. :) I spoke with Jesse on the phone before coming down and worked with him as he prepared a quote for me. After an amazing quote seriously 40% lower than my current carrier, I felt I should review it with my insurance agent. Jesse happily agreed to follow up with me the beginning of the next week. I received a pleasant call from Jesse after reviewing this possible change with my agent and Jesse proceeded to gain the addt’l information needed to start my policy. The process was simple + pleasant and working with Jesse was a breeze. I’ll refer many people to him and I’m still surprised I was able to save so much wow. Great work AAA.

I think it is pathetic that you are only accepting what amounts to cash for online payments.
Sending your check info or debit card over the internet is the MOST insecure and irresponsible method of payment! I have no re-​course to stop a payment in the event bad guys get the information, where I have all kinds of options when using a credit card.
Of course the reason you are doing it is to keep every penny you can… like I said, pathetic.

This branch has horrific, terrible customer service. They make you wait in the DMV line just to buy movie/​amusement park tickets!!! Ridiculous. I highly suggest bringing your business to another location. Laguna Hills is much more friendly and highly efficient.

28 years of AAA membership and satisfied their services. But recently experienced the worst service. No response and irresponsible response! They called me to reduce the auto insurance cost and updated the insurance policy with addtional charges. No response and irresponsible response for queries. They said that they resolved the issue but I keep on receiving the unpaid balance with late charge. Escalated to manager but no differnece. Almost 6 months have elapsed but still the issue is outstanding. It is good to provide a customer complaint site to listen and understand customer difficulties. Seems like that it is time to change both auto and home insurances…

NOT FIVE STARS!!! BAD BAD BAD customer service!!! The only reason I gave it five stars so it would show at the top of the list, every single time I’ve gone into this location I have had an absolutely horrible experience except for one time, out of numerous times. Several representatives have given out false information leading up to not being covered under my policy and other DMV services are just as bad. AAA no longer stands behind its service, as a matter fact, since I have come to this location after 13 years of insurance with them I have actually canceled and switch to State Farm. it’s not just this location, however it was the start, it’s the customer service as well they screwed up my insurance so bad for three months that I was forced to leave

While I have a GPS to guide me as I drive the frustrating freeways and city streets of Southern California, I still prefer to plan driving vacations with a map and guide book so I can plot my route and stops. There’s something I still enjoy about spreading out an old-​school map on the floor and looking at the roads, cities and geography. And then taking on the challenge of re-​folding the map up properly.
Needing the aforementioned supplies, I remembered that part of my AAA membership allows for free materials like this so I came to this nearby location.
Located in a plaza between Albertsons and Rite Aid, this AAA has easy parking and is relatively quiet although while I was here there were several waves of people who came through the door, all of whom were promptly helped — your wait time will be minimal. The customer service I experienced here was exceptional. I explained my desired trip route and within a couple minutes had a couple of guide books and three different maps handed to me. It’s all free if you are a AAA member. They will also provide trip planning assistance if you so desire but I prefer to do that on my own.
This office also handles memberships, has a travel agency, can take care of your car registration and sells insurance (auto, home & renters).

Excellent customer service!
I had a fantastic experience getting an auto quote. He showed me all of the options and advised me on what he thought would be good/​bad for my insurance. He helped me add renter’s insurance into the equation. On top of that, he connected me with another agent to help me with AAA’s free car buyer’s assistance program. The program will help speed up the purchase process at the dealership. Less hassle.
I’ve always been happy with my 8+ years of AAA insurance and roadside assistance, but I am more than happy to recommend this awesome location!

This particular AAA branch is very quick when I just want to make a quick payment. They display some of their specials in the front. There’s no line for membership or insurance payments, so one can be in and out quickly without problems, and they also sell the discount tourist attraction tickets here so I don’t have to wait for such a long time at the Tustin branch.
The problem is that this plaza doesn’t have good parking, but that’s the price one pays for getting in and out faster.
(I might rate it higher after I try out other available services here.)

Best place to get all of your insurance. Whether it’s home, auto, renters or roadside assistance– this is the place to go.
They’re also great for car registration issues. No waiting in line at the DMV.

Kinda disappointed that after adding my Canadian partner that our Premier services won’t cover him in Canada. The weird thing is that a CAA membership is valid in America. Additionally, their movie tickets are more expensive than Costco and they require purchase of 4 individual tickets as a minimum.

I’ve had the worst experience ever dealing with this insurance company and this office in particular. I recently switched insurance from another company thinking I would be getting better service and higher quality insurance. Was I wrong. First off, I got terrible customer service from the beginning. The agent that signed me up never called to update me about my policy, did not return phone calls or emails. In fact she claimed they weren’t receiving emails at the time. Um yeah right. It got lost in the mail. Other times when I called to find out what the status of my insurance was she said she’d check on it and call me by 5pm *that day*. 3 weeks later and no phone call!
After finally getting the paperwork done, I received a premium update raising my insurance! What happened in the two weeks that would change my insurance quote? And two months after that, I got a letter saying they were cancelling my insurance because my house is in a high brush fire zone? WTF. Why sign me up in the first place?!
Save your time. Go somewhere else.

I don’t know how many times I’ve had to stop in here for one thing or another. First I needed a copy of my renter’s insurance. Then, I needed to get a copy of my car insurance.
Then recently, I needed to pay my car registration but couldn’t find my letter, but no problem, the DMV representative at AAA took care of it. I think this is what I’ll do from now on instead of sending in my renewal because they give you your sticker on the spot.
I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes — usually it’s only a few minutes. Once you’ve worked with an agent there, you can email him or her if you need something. That’s what one of the agents did with me, he gave me his card, and when I needed a copy of something, he actually was able to help me via email.
I love AAA — have been with them since the beginning. The staff is great and they’re really on the ball!
