We are a fully-​equipped Pilates studio that offers a personally supervised workout, based on the teachings of Joseph Pilates.

Our goal is to provide the highest quality instruction in a tranquil and caring environment. We offer private instruction so that you can listen to your own body, move at your own pace, and feel better fast.

We specialize in therapeutic programs that are customized to address posture, alignment, injury or chronic pain. Certified pre-​natal and post-​partum specialists.

Meet the Business Owner

Tamara W.

Business Owner

Tamara’s years of dance training and love of sports led her to the fitness industry. She has been teaching Pilates for more than a decade, and opened A Theory In Motion in 2005. Tamara believes that since no two bodies are the same, fitness programs must be customized so that each client sees maximum results. She specializes in posture restoration, injury recovery and relieving chronic back/​neck pain.

Tamara is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), the Physical Mind Institute and D.K. Body Balancing, and has studied extensively with Rael Isacowitz of Body Arts and Science International (BASI) and Madeline Black. She is most interested in the therapeutic applications of Pilates and strives to remain faithful to the teachings of Joseph Pilates.

Tamara’s clients appreciate her warmth and support as they heal their bodies and overcome perceived limitations. She is an empathetic and intuitive instructor with a great sense of humor.
