Hyatt Place Columbia Harbison

Where should I start from oh we are sorry they over booked the hotel so the room you booked and paid for not available and we have one room left in the hotel take it or leave it. We booked a room to accommodate 4 people and this is for 2. We were so tired so we took it it was 1:30 am :(then when I called and asked if hotel was non smoking I was told absolutely all rooms are non smoking you walk into this room and you easily can have an asthma attack but remember no other rooms available and 1:30 am with little kids and yes we were punished because we booked through a third party (famous travel web site). Moving on dirty sheets with hair that does not belong to us AC that does not work !!! OMG if this was your only option for a hotel here sleep in your car !!! Never ever again Hyatt very very very disappointed (if you can not tell) and the only thing we got is we apologize but not really !!! I wish Unilocal had — 10 stars rating this hotel would so deserve it.

TRAFFIC!!! I just waited nearly ½ hour to turn into the hotel parking lot because the hotel is on a road shared by too many businesses and residences. The hotel is truly one of the better ones in the area (I’m here on business frequently), but I WILL NOT stay here again. I simply don’t have the time to waste getting there. The hotel needs to work with the city on better zoning/​planning instead of granting apathetic apologies.

The worse stay ever! Bad service, rude staff, and dirty rooms. I was gone all day and did not have my room serviced. Evening staff Sai there was nothing they could do about it, told them needed fresh towels, told me I needed to come down and get them. Not a place you would expect to get this awful service from. Steer clear…

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was clean, well stocked with towels, blankets and all the usual necessities. I found the staff to be extremely courteous, caring and helpful. They serve complimentary breakfast and although I didn’t try it, it did look great with lots to choose from. I would recommend this hotel for its service, cleanliness and price.

Spacious & Clean
Found a great deal on the Hyatt website. Here on business for 4 days.
Spacious room and a warm breakfast. Clean, clean and comfortable for our stay.
(Seriously, people take a photo of a small stain on the carpet or sofa?)
We checked in late and asked for the quietest room (pm front desk was friendly and helpful versus am staff that just chats with each other… no good morning, have a great day or bye … in the am). They only had rooms next to the elevators.
We were put on the top floor facing the highway and next to the elevator. There is a hospital nearby too. We never heard the elevator or highway traffic. Never awoken in the night by ambulances (I’m a light sleeper).
We did hear loud mouth, inconsiderate yappers at the elevators and those inconsiderate folks who let the heavy door slam behind them as they leave their rooms. That’s an idiot people issue not a hotel issue.
Never heard our neighbors! We’ve been on the road so much the last thing you want to hear is every flush and bed creak.
Enjoyed our stay. I didn’t spill anything on the floor so if you find a stain it wasn’t me.

My family stayed here for five nights recently. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was really good. The only awkward thing was that the sink was not in the actual bathroom but we managed just fine. If we return to that area, we will stay there again.

After staying at other Hyatt properties in other states, I looked forward to being taken care of by a friendly staff and having a comfortable stay.
Upon check in, I was greeted by a friendly staff member who ensured I had everything I needed and went so far as to ask if I needed a tour of the gallery area. My room was clean and comfortable, just as I expected.
I left for work on a late night project and upon my return stopped for a snack at the front desk. This time however, I was greeted by a different staff member who seemed to be annoyed with my need for a cupcake. After telling me they were out of the kind I wanted, she packed them away and was again perturbed by the fact that I picked a different flavor. All the while she never really made eye contact but instead carried on a conversation with another employee.
The attitude this employee in the hospitality industry had, was anything but hospitable. I am disappointed by the level of customer service I received for $ 160/​night and for this reason I will not be returning to this location. I will instead take my business to a Hilton brand hotel where my patronage is consistently appreciated.

This Hyatt Place is sort of a mainstay in my southern travels. Back in my previous job days, I racked-​up about 17 nights at this hotel in about seven months. It was becoming such a second home that they assigned me room 608 every time I checked-​in. Back then, the hotel was still fairly fresh and well-​run.
Fast forward to today…
The hotel isn’t a rat hole, don’t get me wrong, but the rooms are on their way down the old proverbial hill so to speak. The shower wall of the room I was in had cracks and the shower curtain rod was dropping down and about to fall with every sliding of the curtain.
The front desk staff were warm and welcoming still; however, the check-​out process and paying part of the balance with a different card whilst allowing the remainder to fall on the «pre-​auth» card was quite a challenge that they could not easily figure out with a conniption. I could have argued my case and had them call Hyatt support, but I was already impatient enough.
I also take issue with the fact that the going rate for this hotel is now $ 99-​$ 116 per night. I believe this is slightly too high for a property of this calibre especially when considering that a brand new Hyatt Place just up the road goes for $ 86 per night!

Have to give 5 stars! Service is very friendly, asking what else you need. The room is well designed with big TV, sitting area with sofa, desk, refrigerator and shower head that is like a waterfall. Lobby has small bar and complementary breakfast with most anything you want from sausage biscuits & waffles to healthy options such as oatmeal & granola. Only item I did not like was the type of Starbucks coffee they serve which was too earthy and bitter for my taste. Last, the price is reasonable and the location is about 1 mile from a major mall area with theaters and many restaurants.

Pleasantly surprised. After reading reviews I was a little dreadful in checking in after staying at the Ramada downtown. Starting with my check in, the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The lobby was clean, my room was spacious, large flat screen, bar, free wifi and parking and I slept soundly! The reason I give this three stars is because apparently there was a leak somewhere in the hallway on my floor. They had blower fans to help with drying but it didn’t help the smell, These things can happen anywhere. I’m sure ill stay here again with my many visits to Columbia.

Not sure why this isn’t getting perfect reviews. For $ 89 this place was awesome. There was free flavored water and snacks right when you walk in (packaged Oreos and rice crispy treats). The room has a mini fridge which is helpful with keeping milk cold for your baby. Our room was spacious and we like the extra couch space. We didn’t have time to check out the pool. The free continental breakfast was awesome. We have paid much more for a place that only offers breads, cereals, and fruit as their breakfast. They had egg mcmufffin like sandwiches, open faced egg sandwiches, pancakes, cereal, fruit, bagels, muffins, juices, Starbucks coffee.

This place served its purpose. We were weary from our drive and stayed here one night.
The pool was small, but clean, and there are a few spots to lay in the sun if you are so inclined.
Our room was clean, but the doors were really thin; we could hear everything going on in the hall and in the adjacent rooms.
There is a ²⁴⁄₇ menu which includes flatbreads and salads and appetizers, and there is a nice little spot in the lobby with a bar and a kitchen. The staff are helpful and if you’re staying for business alone I can imagine this place would be a good spot.
The breakfast is great. A buffet filled with healthy stuff (an unhealthy stuff). Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon (the bacon tasted like crap), sandwiches, bagels, fruit salad, cereal bar, oatmeal (kind of looked more like gruel). And Starbucks coffee.
It’s also pet friendly!

Love this place, had internet access (still the annoying log in), NO SHUTTLE, be warned we were told it was it wasnt! So plan accordingly! Great continental breakfast, area always had fresh juice, fresh skillet prepared meals, yogurts, cottage cheese, bagels, danishes, toast, etc. Every room has refrigerators, not microwaves remember that. No laundry service either! There’s a wonderful Cracker Barrel right in front. A walmart a few miles away, next to a sams, across from the mall, perfect!

Our room looked dingy and the back of the remote fell off when I picked it up. We slept well but probably because we were exhausted.
The bathroom looked unfinished and our shower was conspiciously missing the wall soap holder… The closet was super small and the lights in the room made the walls seem yellow. I worked for a beautiful Hyatt in Orlando so I was super stoked to stay at one of their other properties but we were sorely dissapointed.
The redeeming aspect was the free breakfast. I enjoyed the fruit and mini egg sandwiches. Truthfully, I love the microwaved egg sammies at Dunkin Donuts and these weren’t much different. I also loved the Starbucks coffee and mini donuts :)
We certainly wouldn’t stay here again but if you are in need (as we were), we at least didn’t get bed bugs.

This hotels looks better on paper than in person. It’s reasonably priced for all the amenities, including free continental breakfast, free WiFi, and HD TVs. However… the free breakfast was horrible — very limited options, gloppy oatmeal, unappetizing fruit, cramped self-​serve area. No vending machines — but you can buy premium beverages from the combination front desk-​café-​bar.
Although it’s new, the whole building feels confining, with dim, narrow hallways and over-​stuffed rooms. To get your baggage cart from the covered entrance to the elevator requires weaving around furniture in the lobby. The rear entrance, which is closer to the elevator, does not have a ramp for the baggage cart.
On the plus side, it’s right off the interstate. And right next door is a Cracker Barrel, where you can get some country cookin’ for not a lot of money.

Clean, new structure with large flat screen TVs in all rooms. Free wi-​fi in all rooms comfortable beds and a nice set-​up for the king room. We liked the continental breakfast and the hotel has Starbucks coffee and a bar that are available for purchase.
We didn’t check out the pool but it looked nice and the staff was very helpful.
Great price ($ 89) for what you got!
