Dr. Curtin knew at an early age that he would choose a career in dentistry, having grown up the son of a dentist, it seemed the natural choice to make. Dr. Curtin graduated from St John’s Prep, received a B.S. in Biology from Providence College and went on to earn his D.M.D. from Boston University’s Goldman School of Graduate Dentistry. After graduating from Dental School, he decided to further his education by completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Although he enjoyed his time in Philadelphia, he was glad to return to the North Shore and begin his career in private practice. Dr. Curtin spent several years as an associate dentist at West Somerville Dental Associates and Dr. Patrick Curtin D.D.S. in Salem, MA. In March of 1999, Dr. Curtin felt it was time to go out on his own and he purchased the practice of Dr. John Carbone D.D.S. here in Ipswich.

I had been seeing Dr Curtain for about 5 years with no issues. I needed a few crowns that were a bit expensive so the Dentist agreed to a payment plan and $ 500 down. I kept my end of the agreement. One day after about a year of our payment plan, I received a letter «telling» me to pay in full as they hired a new bookkeeper and that was how it was going to be. I refused and was sent to a collection agency. After coming to an agreement with the collection agency, Dr Curtain got his $ the way WE originally planned. The guy is a jerk!!!

We are fans of Dr. Curtain’s practice. Dr. Curtain was always good for a laugh. Honest and a realist. We were sad to leave the practice due to a change in our insurance. I would recommend this office.
