Iowa City’s very own self-​serve frozen yogurt shop invites you to indulge in our rotating selection of delicious, healthy frozen yogurt and toppings galore! All of our yogurt is packed with live and active cultures, which are probiotic and aid in digestion and immunity. We have a range of fresh fruit daily and a wide variety of other goodies. And the best part is, you’ll be the master of your own creation!

Gluten-​free, sugar-​free, and dairy-​free options are ALWAYS available. None of our yogurt contains High Fructose Corn Syrup. We use REAL premium frozen yogurt, not a powder mix like the big chains. Our yogurt contains between 100 and 400 million cultures per gram of beneficial live and active yogurt cultures, exceeding levels set by the National Yogurt Association. All of our yogurt is Kosher certified.

Veronica loves frozen yogurt. A problem solver by nature, she grappled for many years with a major dilemma: there was no froyo in Iowa City. So, Veronica took matters into her own hands, and with a little ingenuity, just enough encouragement, and tons of taste-​testing, Yotopia was born. Once just a girl with a dream– to eat frozen yogurt in this town she calls home– Veronica’s dream has been fulfilled beyond her wildest expectations.

This is the best frozen yogurt option in downtown Iowa City. Tons of flavors and toppings in a space that is colorful, well-​organized, and suited for families with small kids, couples looking for a dessert after a dinner out, and college students alike. There’s a sense that the clientele here really captures a nice cross-​section of the IC community. Customer service is always great.
My personal favorite? No sugar added vanilla, topped with fresh kiwi, blueberries, and almonds. Staying away from the coffee flavors for my own safety.
There is some space inside to eat, but we like to take it outside to the adjacent pedestrian mall, and sit on one of the many benches along that stretch. Perfect way to spend a summer evening in downtown IC.

Amazing place! A true local place. Reminds me of the Great Midwestern Ice Cream company many years ago.
They have absolutely delicious options. All the other places I’ve been to including hyped places in big cities, they all have that artificial after taste. Not at the yotopia; only the natural and sometimes rich sometimes clean after taste.
They have mind boggling array of toppings, although, personally, I haven’t tried any. If you use the loyalty card, you can quickly earn discounts and free froyo. Great promotions like freebie on Father’s Day.
Only problem is, every time I come here, I end up getting way too much…

It took me a long time to get on board the frozen yogurt craze, as I was completely fine with hunkering down and sticking to my soft serve until the whole thing blew over…
… but in walks Yotopia.
Despite my long-​lived protest of frozen yogurt, I’ve been to quite a few froyo shops over the past few years since it’s where everyone else has always wanted to go. With Yotopia though, things were different. I accidentally wound up with a green cup in my hand that was chock full of coconut and cake batter frozen yogurt, and piled high with dark chocolate raspberry cups, snow caps, and pink wafers. That’s right about the time when my froyo retaliation ended.
My froyo love story now lies solely with Yotopia (I’m an honest, one-​lover gal). Their dedication to using real, farm-​fresh and locally-​sourced milk has me all dreamy eyed, while their genius assortment of toppings have me writing love notes in the form of reviews until our next meet-​cute.

Definitely second the «above average» froyo comment. The Tarot Root froyo is delicious. The toppings kill the competitors’ toppings and the flavors seem much more thought out than anywhere else. I’m not big on the froyo hype but this place almost converts me. I only give 4 stars rather than 5 because the service sucks. Dunno if it was because I went in the evening when adolescents were working but I found myself irritated with the level of customer service/​friendliness.

I absolutely adore this place! This place is a very well designed and lovely frozen yogurt shop! They serve a wide variety of frozen yogurts– they usually have 10 different flavors ranging from light and fruity to savory and delectable! Not only do they have 10 flavors but a wide array of buffet — like fruits and candies which are always stocked and very fresh! They also supported their local neighbor Molly’s Cupcakes which is served in little portions (adorable!). They also stock gluten-​free and dairy-​free options! I usually get a cup with a divider (2 or 3 way divider) so I can enjoy one of their fruity froyos but also indulge in a chocolate/​savory side with cheesecake and bits of candy bar!
I highly recommend this place– the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, which goes along with their seemingly always friendly and happy staff, and they are open until 11pm on weekdays and 12am on Fridays and Saturdays, and it’s guilt-​free option for dessert. And they’re LOCAL! Come on! Let’s support the cause!

This place has above average fro-​yo, I like their flavors options, they try to keep new flavors coming in and out. They offer this nice split cup feature which makes getting more than one flavor a little easier.
They got a nice selection of toppings as well.
Nothing too different than the rest of the copcat froyo places… You know what I mean, bright walls and colorful surroundings are any of them ever original?
They have great ice cream though, I enjoy coming here.

I love their frozen yogurt! I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. The flavors and texture of their yogurt is very creamy and rich. My last visit I tried their Georgia Peach flavor which was amazing! I also got the cake batter and added cookie dough pieces, brownies pieces, and marshmallow syrup. There are many of other yummy fro-​yo flavors to try and they have tons of toppings! Fun fact: they get their yogurt from local Iowa farms!

Had a great experience at @YotopiaIowaCity in @ICDowntown today, and really took some time to try almost all of the flavors, which were amazing! I like that they had a locally sourced strawberry option. There are bowls, but also a milk-​shake cup that lets you create a custom frozen drink with whatever toppings and mixture of frozen yogurt you’d like. It’s a corner store with colorful decorations and big glass windows, so it’s very bright and fun to see all the activity going on in downtown Iowa City. Also, eating their treats didn’t give me the sugar crash that one typically feels after overdoing it on sweets. I plan to return. :-)

Hands down the best froyo in Iowa City! Most of their froyo is either gluten and/​or fat free and the flavors are always very rich. The texture is what really gets me about other froyo places but Yotopia always has smooth and creamy textures. Don’t forget to stop here!

This is the only fro-​yo joint worth visiting in Iowa City. Not only is the selection of yogurt flavors amazing, the feel, location and owner-​ship is top notch. My favorite is to blend the coconut with the greek, add some chocolate, and of course, gummy bears!

… I have a confession… I don’t really like frozen yogurt. I know. I know…
So when I tried Fro Yo for the first time I was expecting what I normally feel when I eat frozen yogurt… a deep wish that it was ice cream… but this wish never happened. So thank you Fro Yo, for bucking my attitude on frozen yogurt. And please people, know that not all fro yo is created equal. I’m still dreaming in pistachio! (NOM!!)

I absolutely love this place! The flavors of yogurt are always good, and the standards stay there. The toppings are fresh and delicious.

It’s always a good night when it begins, ends or just stops by Yotopia. The second rendition of the frozen yogurt craze that is about 5 years late, but just in time in IC!
The selection here is slightly lacking as compared to Ghurties, but it’s a noble effort. The topping are quality and they’ve got a few more «Eastern» options like mochi that Ghurtie’s lacks. They have fewer options overall however to it’s pretty even in the toppings department. The décor here is very modern/​trendy and while there’s not a lot of seating inside, there’s ample room to chillax outside.
The folks that work here are always a friendly lot and make Yotopia a great place to stop in any night you’re in the ped mall or just passing by.
