History

Established in 1991.

Many in this community have heard the name Genesis Women’s Center at one time or another. Since the multi-​partner OB/​GYN practice opened its doors to Citrus County in 1990 it has delivered its share of some 10,000 babies and served tens of thousands in the area of women’s health. Although change is inevitable in any growing practice, Genesis Women’s Center has had to rise above numerous challenges during its 23 years of operation. What once started as a small town doctor’s office sought to expand into a comprehensive women’s health facility. Sure, the usual but necessary services remained such as obstetrical care, yearly wellness exams, pap screening, reproductive health, and breast cancer screening. But after 14 years of being the leaders in OB/​GYN care for Citrus County the vision had increased to encompass a multitude of other services.
