Description

Specialties

Bud’s is Interlochen’s hub for friends and family to gather and enjoy some of «Life’s Simple Pleasures.» Serving primarily café style American food, ice cream, coffee and homemade baked goods to the Interlochen, MI community. Residents and vacationers alike can find their spot in this nostalgic, unique and cozy restaurant/gift shop.

History

Established in 2008.

In the 1950’s, Interlochen welcomed the arrival of Bud and Grace Schroeder as they established Bud’s Resort Service. They first offered gas, grocery supplies and bait and tackle in a convenient one-stop store for the many vacationers coming to the area to enjoy simple summer lake living and the pleasures of the neighboring Interlochen State Park and Music Camp. By the early 70’s, the aroma of donuts, pies, bread, and cinnamon pull-apart loaves wafted out of the side door. The wooden screen door squeaked open and shut all morning as folks found it har to resist the heavenly aroma of freshly baked goods coolin on the shelves.

In May of ’08 Bud’s re-opened its doors to the Intelrochen community. Now you will find a glowing, cozy place that offers a unique atmosphere. Stop by and enjoy a cup of Bud’s Organic Blend coffee by the fireplace, read the paper on our porch, watch the news on one of the flatscreens, or surf the internet on the free wi-fi.
