History

Established in 1954.

Since 1954 Stoltzfus Meats has been producing fine quality fresh and smoked meats. It all began with Amos Stoltzfus taking Lancaster County products to a retail stand at New Castle Farmer’s Market in New Castle, Delaware on Fridays and Saturdays. As the demand increased for these exceptional, quality products, Amos started making and selling his own items. The tradition continued with Amos taking products to New Castle for many years and in 1966 he opened a retail store in Intercourse, Pa.

As time passed, Amos’ family became interested in the business and have been carrying on the tradition of processing a wide variety of fresh and smoked meat products ever since. These include our award winning old fashioned sweet bologna and smoked ring bologna, fresh country sausage and hamloaf, award winning boneless hams and shankless hams, bacon, smoked sausage, sausage grillers (11 different flavors), smoked turkey, kettle cooked scrapple, kielbasa and dried beef.

Today Stoltzfus Meats is led by the second generation. Amos’ son, Myron Stoltzfus. He is the current President and has taken the business past the half century mark. Myron is very dedicated to following in the wonderful tradition that began with his father and will continue his legacy.
