Best French Onion Soup anywhere ! Burgers, chicken strips, sandwiches, fries, soups, EVERYTHING IS SO GREAT! Its your typical dive bar but its worth the dark atmosphere (which I personally love)

Foods great and they have a gorgeous, friendly waitress that made my experience worth five stars!!! I think her name was Brittany?! Would gladly eat here again.

A Great neighbor hood bar. Burgers are great as well as the fish and chips. Wait staff is awesome. Everyone makes you feel like a regular. If your looking for a friendly good time, give Jon;s a try.

I was bowling in the area and used Unilocal to see where I could grab a bite to eat. Jon’s Goodtime Bar & Grill had great ratings and seemed to be a pretty divey place, so it was match made in Unilocal heaven.
We got there and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who helped us scope out a couple of spots at the bar. The bartender was also very friendly and helpful. There were so many items on the menu that sounded delicious… I ended up getting shrimp pieces and a patty melt w/​fries. Both were very good! Their condiment carousel included fresh pickles, onions and banana peppers. That was a cool, different touch. The beer is cold and if you’re getting draft, they have chilled mugs (yasss!!)
The place is small and every walking space is narrow. No big deal. The rest rooms are clean and there are sections of the day’s newspaper hanging in the stall for your reading pleasure LOL! The customers seemed to know one another based on regular attendance… and though it was our first time there, the staff treated us as if we were regulars, too!

This place never fails us!!! The soup is always nice and hot. Staff is great as well!!!

Jons good time is a great place for food and drinks. Love coming here. small atmosphere where you feel welcome.

Jon’s is a classic dive bar. Cheap yet amazing drinks, great management and servers, and better yet awesomely inexpensive meals. My family and I have been coming here for years. They have amazing seafood, sandwiches, and wings. The zucchini sticks are a MUST order if you go. They are the definition of kick-​butt fried food.
The place is tiny but it makes for a great, homely, and unique experience. Love this place.

Expect to wait in line on a Friday night. This place isn’t very big, but seems to be really popular. It took quite a while for the waitress to take our drink orders and she seemed to be pretty annoyed when we told her we needed separate checks. But, everyone seemed satisfied with their food. I had the fish & chips, which was pretty good. My friends got some mixed drinks that were pretty small, but really tasty. Don’t go here with a crowd. We had four people and they had a hard time making room for us.

This place doesn’t have a extensive menu by any means, but what they do have on it, they do it good! I recommend the French-​Dip sandwich, Carolina Chicken sandwich, or a Jon’s Burger.
And they have without a doubt, the Best French Onion soup anywhere! It’s almost a meal in itself! This homemade soup is served in a heavy crock, with a thick piece of bread smothered under multiple layers of cheeses, broiled to perfection, served piping hot! You actually have to dig through all of it, just to get to the broth!
The bar has been at this location for many, many, years. And the it’s a good little place to hit-​up for a cold one, and of course, a crock of French Onion soup!

One of the best and most reliable local beer dives in the Garden City/​Dearborn Heights area. Not exactly high class but the burgers, ambiance, and pints of beer more than make up for any shortcoming of beauty. I highly recommend john’s for a great dive bar experience!

LOVE Jon’s!!! My Blue Moon beer is ice cold and the Carolina Chicken Sandwich is awesome!

You won’t find anything fancy on the menu which is highlighted by free popcorn, barbecued meats and fat burgers.
It’s a dive bar that many locals bring their kids to for dinner so if you are looking for someplace rowdy, look somewhere else.
Jon’s has great prices on beer, burgers, food baskets and did I mention free popcorn?
Pints are often $ 2 or $ 3… and by pint I mean 32 ounce frosty mugs of goodness. They compliment the new flat screen televisions above the bar nicely.
In the summer, Jon’s grills ribs, chicken and shrimp outside. They also offer a ton of sports pools, horse racing contests, trivia nights and more. Make sure to read the placemat placards when you arrive — they list the monthly and daily specials so you know the best time to come back.
