Quality has gone way way way down.
The Pupusas are now mostly masa — not meat no cheese no beans… :(
No tamales de elote??? no way!
No casamiento??? no way!

Poor service on the phone — they gave me poor customer service on the phone because I asked about Casamiento and about Tamales de Elote.
It used to be one of the good Salvadorean restaurants — Now — Not so much.
Stay away until they fix the management. Ever heard of don’t fix what ain’t broken…

I’m split on writing this review, I’ve been coming here for years but I definitely have a love/​hate relationship with this place. The pupusas are amazing, the best pupusas I’ve come across, but the whole process of getting them is a pain. Waiting for a phone order could take up to an hour on the weekends sometimes Literally every time I order they get the order wrong somehow. If you call in the order make sure you ask them to repeat it back before placing it and once you get there check it before you leave because more then likely it will be wrong. Also, they’re stingy on the salsa roja when ordering pupusas to go. But I keep coming back to this place because they do have the best pupusas, just make sure you give them enough time to get your order right. It would be a 5 star review, but the constant wrong orders knocked it down.

It has gotten better, new management. I hated this place before, tiny hall on the wall with 5 star restaurant attitude but it’s different now, customer service has improved, not the best but it’s gradually getting better. Caldo de gallina and caldo de res are on top of my list, they have what they call a salvipanini which is basically a French roll filled with beans, eggs, chorizo, pretty tasty and the price is decent. As far as the pupusas (pooh pooh sas) they are decent, but they come in size large so what’s to hate about that.

They need to update the closing time. saids they close at 9 but is 8:27 and is close.

The quesadilla and ckicen soup had good flavor, pupusas were just okay, nuegados did not taste of yucca at all, service was ok, I order rice pupusas and got maiz, but they were replaced. Not sure, I will return

I was in the mood for pupusas the other day and my friend recommended this spot. It was local so I was with it and to tell you the truth wish we never did it KIDDING! This place was pretty good I enjoyed the chicharron pupusa, this thing was huge. It was filling and I practically scarfed down all of the curtido and salsa. The only problem was that we were on our lunch break and each ordered 2 pupusas each and it took over an hour for us to eat. If it wouldn’t have taken so long I would given them a 5.

It was a slow day when I decided to go eat at this place. To begin with the waitress took forever to come and take our order for drinks, she then continued her crappy service to take another 15mins to come back and take our food order. After we ordered our food for some weird reason it took another 40mins when it was just some simple scrambled eggs and chorizo and some pupusas. I mean, really? I doesn’t take 40mins plus to make a simple plate, not like I was asking for a Spanish paella dish. Anyway, at that point I was already irritated so when she came out with my plate only and my friends plate not even onsite (2 pupusas) i thought it was beyond ridiculous how much of a poor service she was already providing, at that point I just wanted to leave so I asked for a to go box which took another 10mins at the most. We asked for the bill, took about 10−15mins for her just to swipe the card, which mind you she had just sitting on the counter by the register. This place needs to get better waitresses who aren’t bitter to be work for a living or need to get more employees and actually prioritize their costumers who are already sitting at the restaurant as oppose to the ones who have placed phone orders. I basically spent over an hour just to end up with having my food to go. I should’ve of just left and left the food there all packed up. Best believe I will not come back to this place and take my money elsewhere. This place doesn’t even deserve a star too bad Unilocal doesn’t do any negative stars or no stars at all!

Made us wait and order before they told us they were out of the main item we had ordered. Very disappointed.

This place used to be good! Just ordered pupusas to go with chicharon and queso! Any salvadorean knows a pupusa comes with cheese! When i get my pupusas home its over stuffed with plain chicharon! No cheese at all! Goin back becuase they wont answer the phone to speak to them! Frustrated! Not the first time it happens!

I say I come here for the food only, or to go food. But to actually sit here, it’s the worst. They take forever to sit you, then on top of that they move you to a table where your group is squished together, which is terrible because first you fit but then the food comes and it’s terrible. The service is horrible when it comes to patience, and the drinks don’t get me started on that, they over do the ice on drinks to a point where the ice is coming out of your drink. I would recommend this place for the food because the food is 5+ plus but the service and wait is bashful.

I walked in and sat along the hallway, cumbia music was coming out of the speakers. Before coming in I already knew I’d order breakfast. So the waitress wrote down the chosen plate, eggs with Salvadoran chorizo, casamiento (rice and beans mixed together), cream, fried plantain, handmade tortillas and a glass of horchatta. My drink was brought first, which I sipped while enjoyed the sounds of the restaurant, and read a book. Finally my order arrived.
The casamiento was out of this world, the red beans were well done, and the rice as well, making a very nice combination, the plantain glisened under the light having been fried to a nice caramel yellow crisp. Not only were the plantain well done, but tasted great, sweet with a firm softness. The cream was fresh and would occasionally top some of the eggs, some of the plantain and the casamiento. At times I’d make different combinations to get the different flavors. I added a bit of tapatio sauce to the scrabbled eggs, which gave the food a slight kick. The tortillas were handmade, but were a bit fluffy, and not as firm as I am used to but they tasted great. The horchatta was on point, sweet enough to complement the nutmeg and cinnamon. The service was exceptional and friendly. I will definitively return to order other dishes.

This place is legit. My mother and grandmother are from El Salvador, and the pupusas and tamales are so good. The horchata is authentic and terrific, and the service is timely. Came here for lunch once with grandma and sister, then ordered 12 tamales and 4 pupusas to take with us the next day since we were out of the area. I would def recommend.

This place deserves the 5 stars but their service has always been bad or just very SLOW. We look around us and the place isn’t packed. Other then that, their pupusas are good. Oh, and they also don’t accept outside drinks and they sell their own bottled sodas for $ 2.25.

This is the best Salvadorean. Food ever. Service is awesome this is a very popular restaurant for lunch. I do recommend their pupusas. And their breakfast today was my first time to try the huevos rancheros. Con chorizo. With over easy eggs, toast, cheese, rice and beans. Their sausage is really good. I am Filipino so normally our sausage is real sweet. But their chorizo yummy. :D

Highly recommended Salvadorean food!
Delicious pupusas, good breakfasts, and outstanding Caldo de Gallina, a broth of hen meat and vegetables.
Service is simply great. During our last visit, my niece asked to return her horchata because she did not like Salvadorean horchata, and the server gave her their fruit juice drink at no charge. (They also did not charge us for the returned horchata.) By the way, my niece liked the fruit juice.

The food is always good here. I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager and lived less than a block away. The service has definitely gotten better but the wait time for the food has not changed. I ONLY come here when my kids are not starving and we have extra time.

Decent pupusas but why must it take FOREVER to make them? The customer service here usually sucks as well. If you wanna grab a bite to go they take phone orders, that tends to expedite the process. However, at times they never pick up so you are rolling the dice on that one. Also, make sure to check all your to go orders because they are always missing something!

Es una de las peores experiencia que tenido, ayer que estuve en los chorros restauran, el servicio fue pésimo sin calidad, la comida más o menos, ordene una sopa se gallina, la sopa estaba tibia, el pollo no estaba bien cosido, todo lo que ordenamos lo sirvieron en pausas, nada completo con ordenes, pedimos yuca con chicharron, se les olvido poner la orden, servicio como comida
estuvieron falta, mucho pa pensaría para regresar.

This place is cozy, consistent, and has tasty food in reasonable portions and prices. Many speciality Mexican and Central American dishes, as well as standard Mex fare. A good bet for a family dinner. Been here many times; never disappointed. Terrific pupsas. We usually get enchiladas because they are consistently good. Rice and beans are well done too. Their fajita treatment is different from others I’m used to. It’s not bad, but not my taste – tomatoey. Very good service and good for couples through fairly large groups. Carry out too.

This place is pretty good. There is plenty of parking, and it wasn’t too busy when we got there.
A good option for lunch or dinner. Their menu is pretty big and they have more than just pupusas and tamales here…
It takes a bit for the food to come out. but that’s how it usually is when I get pupusas at all the various restaurants. If I were to come again, I would probably order ahead of time. Their curtido was good too.
Service was not bad.

Decided to find a new pupusa place nearby and came here.
Parking can be difficult as there is a store next to it and I think they also share parking with La Fonda (Mexican restaurant in the vicinity)
Ordered bean and cheese pupusas and they were good. The curtido was great! Pupusas were a good size and had flavor. I would rate them a B+.
Aside from what I deemed a longer than usual wait for pupusas and the parking, I don’t have any complaints. Now that I know they are good, I will just call ahead for pickup.
