Legacy Foot and Ankle Center

I recently jammed my toe and had to go to Urgent Care to get an X-​ray (on a Saturday). We called around and found this one to have an actual foot specialist. It was a very pleasant experience from the start (not the jamming part, of course). It was easy to get to and the staff in the front office were all very nice and real. I was seen by Dr Kahen, I believe he actually stayed later just to see me. He was very knowledgeable with a great disposition. Aside from his x-​ray confirming my broken toe, he took time to discuss the work I do and the shoes I wear and had suggestions on how I can support and prevent future problems with my feet. Basically, he had an interest in his new patient, imagine that?.
So, now when someone asks me if I know a good Podiatrist, I can say, «As a matter of fact, I do».!

Real cool doctor! He was friendly, told me my options and got to work. Haven’t had an ingrown toe-​nail since! Thanks doc!

Meant to write this sooner, but Dr. Kahen is amazing and his bedside manner comforting; a rarity these days as many doctors squeeze in so many patients that they aren’t able to give enough focus and attention to the care each patient. Came to Dr. Kahen’s office after some research online and glad I decided on his office. He helped sort out a foot issue that I thought was going to affect my impending vacation but his prescribed treatment did the trick and he got me back on my feet! Dr. Kahen is practical and methodical when it came to the treatments and I would recommend him whole heartedly!

Long Review:
I was playing basketball one night and jammed my big-​toe nail (I didn’t even know this was possible). My nail turned black and blue within seconds. It was extremely painful and I thought I might have broken my toe.
The night of the injury I went to the emergency room of a local hospital (not Legacy Foot and Ankle Center with Dr. Kahen) in hopes of getting some treatment. The doctor took one look at my toe and told me he wanted to remove the nail. I was not willing to do this without getting a second opinion.
The next day, I made an appointment to see Dr. Kahen at Legacy Foot and Ankle Center, and I’m so glad I did. I got an appointment that day and was able to see Dr. Kahen within minutes of getting there. Dr. Kahen is a very personable and friendly individual, which you don’t get with some doctors, so that was a huge plus. Unlike the first doctor, Dr. Kahen carefully examined my toe and nail, being exceptionally cautious to not hurt me. He clearly explained to me what had happened to my toe, and why my toenail was black. Unlike the first doctor who simply wanted to remove the nail, Dr. Kahen assured me that my nail was in good condition and was still attached to the nail bed, so nail removal was not necessary. He explained that the reason why I was experiencing so much pain was due to the pressure caused by the pool of blood under my toenail.
Dr. Kahen provided me with a few different options for treatment, including his personal recommendation. At this point, I fully trusted Dr. Kahen and went with his recommended treatment to put a small hole into the nail to drain the blood. This was a quick and painless procedure and relieved the pressure and pain immediately. As Dr. Kahen bandaged my toe, I asked him a ton of questions, and he answered them very clearly and knowledgably.
Ultimately, I would highly recommend anyone with foot or ankle (or big-​toe nail!) problems to see Dr. Kahen at Legacy Foot and Ankle Center.

Wow! Fixed my problem and educated me about it. Surgery was not needed as first option. I would send anyone to see him. Everyone told me I have a neuroma. Pain persisted. Dr. K examined me and told me I have metat… Now I walk pain free!

I started having pain in both feet after waking up in the mornings and really needed to see a specialist. I found Dr. Kahen on Unilocal and made an appointment. I was pleasantly surprised at how kind and caring this doctor was. After my diagnostic, he suggested some stretching exercises and custom inserts. It’s been 3 weeks since my visit and I no longer experience pain in the mornings. I highly recommend Dr. Kahen!

As a healthcare professional myself, I know the importance of providing proper care to patients. Dr. Kahen and his staff do exactly that. Not only did they make me feel like family from the beginning, but they were extremely patient with me. Dr. Kahen has always been thorough in his explanations and has never made me feel rushed. He has great bedside manners and is extremely knowledgeable in his field. I have been to several podiatrists in the past since I had a few sports injuries that have followed me throughout the years, and I see a significant difference in the level of attention and the quality of service that I receive from Dr. Kahen. The therapeutic effects I have received through his services have far surpassed his colleagues’ efforts.
I was initially referred to Dr. Kahen by my mother who struggled with foot problems for most of her life. She was also extremely impressed with the care he provided, and has referred several patients over the years.

I am truly blessed to have found Dr. Kahen. I want to start off this review by saying a big thank you to him for helping me recover from my foot pain that I have had for a few years now. Dr. Kahen is very approachable and knowledgable. Him and his staff make you feel at ease and are very friendly. Dr. Kahen took a lot of time to actually listen to my complaints and concerns and was very sympathetic to them. He literally sat me down and gave me a thorough and informative explanation as to what was going on and how I can recover from this pain I have been having. Unlike other doctors, I have never felt rushed with Dr. Kahen. He truly cares about his patients and makes you feel like an actual person and not just a number. I have an extreme case of left chronic plantar fasciitis as I love playing basketball. I have seen multiple podiatrists in the greater LA area (since I recently moved here from Orange) and all with great reviews so I was initially skeptical approaching a new podiatrist.
As I approached Dr. Kahens office, I found that the staff was extremely nice and approachable. Dr. Kahen actually spent the time to thoroughly explain his diagnosis and possible procedures for my specific case. Where the other 2 podiatrists gave me the typical stretch and rest answer, he actually was able to relate to my experience. Its been a month now and I can honestly say I have had 70% improvement of my condition. For now, I have scheduled follow up appointments and will be referring family and friends to him.
